Temu quality at Australian prices

I have never purchased power tools or hand tools from Bunnings because they don't stock the good stuff (a certain red US brand) but they have been okay for cheap (as in cheaply made) hardware. I wouldn't buy anything from them for important DIY projects because their quality control is so poor, but simple things like garden stakes, pots, nails, tent pegs, paint, etc they have been okay. When I have used Bunnings, I shop online because I got sick of not being able to find staff members in store and when I did they turned out to have poor product knowledge. My online orders sometimes missed something and some took quite a long time to arrive, but eventually they did turn up. My advice is if you shop at Bunnings don't expect too much and don't be surprised if whatever you bought breaks in a month. Thankfully I now have a local hardware store so I don't need to use Bunnings anymore.

I would have given them 2 stars but they stock Roundup which causes cancer in kids and kills fish and rat baits that kill owls and other native wildlife. So they get 1 star for being a blight on humanity.

Uncalled for harassment by loss security officers at Bunnings

I visited the store this afternoon. I am unwell and hence it took some time for me to gather the things I was after. I noticed two men (Indian) following me around the store. To make sure that this was the case, I went to different aisles to see if they followed me. They did. Due to some personal security reason in my life, I had a panic and anxiety attack in the store. I felt sick. I did not know whether I should call the police. I decided to type a note on my phone and discreetly showed it to a staff member. It turned out the two Indian nationals were working for Bunnings as loss prevention officers. I understand that retail loss is a major issue but to be followed for a prolonged period of time whilst trying to shop is unacceptable. This has had a negative impact on my health. I wonder if somebody actually stole from Bunnings whilst those two idiots were following me. It seems that the loss protection officers (in plain clothes) wants to catch the person stealing. It did not happen with me as I do not shoplift. If they thought my behaviour was suspicious, they could have alerted staff to check my bag when I exited the store. They followed me for more than half an hour. People have different life experiences and being followed by those two Indians could have caused me more serious harm due to the stress, increased anxiety and panic attack. Shame on you Bunnings.

We shall never order online from Bunnings again.

We shall never order online from Bunnings again. I pay an annual fee for One pass which offers free delivery from a number of companies including Bunnings. Yesterday after new difficulties with Bunnings online site we eventually were able to use my one pass or so we thought, and supposedly no need to pay for delivery. Today we were charged a $50 delivery fee.

Imagine adding next day delivery on…

Imagine adding next day delivery on your website and not even shipping the item 4 days later... No nothing... Impossible to get through to them over the phone (1 hr waits but 1 hour = hours)... Their "online support" is useless. I emailed twice on two different occasions no one got back to me. TRASH, DON'T BUY FROM THEM ONLINE.

I hired a carpenter tradesman to…

I hired a carpenter tradesman to renovate our business toilets at UMR Engines. The tradesman gave me an order for materials which I ordered through the internet using Bunnings Slacks Creek, that was Thursday last week. It is now Wednesday the following week and after many hours on the telephone the order still has not arrived. I have had to pay the Tradie to wait around with nothing to continue on with. I have now dismissed him and the Bunnings delivery has still not arrived. I will never recommend Bunnings to anyone and will continue to spread the word. I will be requesting a refund and compensation as this has been a costly exercise.
My prepaid order isw272756736. This is the worst service I have received from any hardware.I Do not recommend Bunnings service and the delivery charges were paid up front. Shame on Bunnings

We ordered 4 x indoor MDF wall panels…

We ordered 4 x indoor MDF wall panels to be installed on our feature bedroom wall and paid up front, then waited for nearly 4 weeks before the supplier delivered them to our local Bunnings.

Bunnings were meant to call/email when the panels were delivered, heard nothing. It wasn't until we went to the store that they advised the panels were delivered.

We advised that our contractor would collect the panels directly from the store. Approximately 2 weeks ago he went to collect the panels and was told that no-one can assist him, so he left. He went back today to collect them and was informed that the order had been compromised as 2 x panels from our PAID order had been on sold to another customer and the remaining 2 x panels were damaged. WTF!!!! On selling pre-paid panels or any goods to another customer, isn't this illegal???

I went to store and demanded a refund for all 4 panels and was offered a flimsy excuse that someone out back in the storage area processed the on sale. Then they wanted to offer me a credit ($800) to spend in there store, yeah sure, no thanks refund my credit card ASAP.

Bizarre Bunnings marketplace experience

Ordered autistic bats of Bunnings marketplace.
Never delivered. After several emails they apologised but wanted $10 for another delivery. Then 3 weeks later they invoice again for the bats.
Charged twice for bats that weee never delivered. Tried to leave a review on the product and Bunnings denied the review as it’s through their own system. Seriously crazy stuff.

Bunnings is like Big W, with bits and pieces of everything but not much of anything.

I'm sick to death of looking at the Bunnings website and finding so many products which are 'not sold at this store'. The Grafton Bunnings is way too small, stuff is packed into the aisles making it so tight someone has to duck into an aisle for another person to pass. With even more hardware taken out to accommodate car parts and pet stock, the place has become hit and miss with range, stock, and staff.

I've started buying timber from timber yards and fittings and tools from other places who actually have hardware stock. You used to be a hardware store, but now you're somewhat of a mixed business. I've tried to buy hardwood, screens, shed hinges, and much more, only to find something is a special order, not sold at this store, out of stock, or the stock you do have has been pilfered. Shopping at Bunnings is very unreliable.

Bunnings, leave the car parts to the car part mob, and leave the pet stuff to the pet stuff mob; get your head back into hardware and do it properly, or give up. Bunnings is like Big W, with bits and pieces of everything but not much of anything.

Shop elsewhere.

Brendon at Bunnings Myaree is the best.

I was searching for wire baskets for my laundry cupboards. I had 3 and needed more but when I went online it said there were none in stock in Perth. I went in to Bunnings Myaree and was served by Brendon & he was outstanding. He searched their system and found odd ones (it seems Bunnings no longer carry them) at different locations, then phoned them to make sure the computer didn’t lie and save me driving all over Perth. He was just so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. 5 stars for Brendon an asset to Bunnings.

Parcel sent wrapped in very bad black plastic which kills and pollutes our 🌎

Bunnings sent me a parcel wrapped in thee layers of black plastic wrap, like if we are a third world? Why are they polluting the WestCoast? I know they can use recycled plantbased waist made into paper or recycled cardboard. They need to employ me to manage there parcels properly.
We all know plastic filliment is now found in our childrens blood, in table salt, in fish especially Salmon. Stop pollution our wonderful Tasmania and its WestCoast. I am now sending back the plasticand telling Bunnings to pull there finger out, it's 2025 and we need big CHANGE! Clean up your buisness, make it shine! Give our 🌎 and humans a better future.

This store is on an accelerating…

This store is on an accelerating downhill slide.
On numerous recent visits the staffing level have been well below what's required to provide an acceptable level of service.
The staff that are serving are working like a one armed paper hanger in a huricane. This time they accepts a click/collect but items were out of stock. So they punted the order to another store - inconvenient. But far worse they did not call ... they just assumed.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Westfarmers - new management is urgently required!
In the meantime, just more online shopping, elewhere, for me!

Bunnings policies make absolutely no…

Bunnings policies make absolutely no sense. At every turn there is no logic. When one stupid plan doesn't work, they switch to a worse one. And their IT is a joke.
Trying to solve a problem with them is like hitting a brick wall. If only they had decent competition to kick them into touch.

On Wednesday 24th Sept

On Wednesday 24th Sept. I visited Bunnings North Launceston store to purchase a hand trolley. The one I required was not assembled, but wrapped in a plastic bag with numerous bits of sticky tape holding it together. When I began assembling it I soon realised it was incomplete. (Missing the Axle). I rang the store and spoke to a lady who suggested I return it for a replacement. I explained that it would be a 100 km. round trip from my home. She then suggested that they may be able to freight it to me but this would have to be organised by her boss. She took my phone number and said they would be in touch. After waiting 4 days I decided to return it. When I presented it to the returns desk the chap recognised it because another customer hed returned it a few days earlier for the same reason. The team member said it was obvously retuned to stock rather than locate the missing part. So to sum up I was messed around with no appology and lost half a day at work with no compensation.

Handy Rentals at Bunnings Nearly Hit Me with a $7,300 Bill for a Dent I Didn’t Cause – Be Careful!

I’ve been going to Bunnings for years, and they’ve always been solid. So when I needed a ute, I figured their Handy Rentals would be fine. Big mistake. I hired the ute, did my job, returned it, no drama. Then they pointed out a small dent and said it wasn’t on their checklist before I took it. Since I didn’t check the ute myself – I trusted Bunnings to be straight-up – they said I had to pay the excess. The excess? $7,300. Not a typo. Seven grand for a little dent. Feels like Handy Rentals is gouging customers, especially when their own insurance excess is probably closer to $500. They didn’t warn me about this ridiculous amount upfront, just had me sign a contract I didn’t comb through because, well, it’s Bunnings.

I knew I didn’t make the dent. Told the manager I’d take a lie detector if they had one. But legally, I was stuck since I signed without proof. That kind of money could ruin someone. I got lucky – the manager, a good woman, checked the CCTV and found the dent was there before I got the ute. Their staff missed it, so it’s not a stretch I missed it too. If she hadn’t bothered, I’d be out $7,300 for something I didn’t do, so I’m very thankful to her.

My advice: Use another hire car service that has a reasonable excess for accidents. Don’t use Handy Rentals unless you’re ready to inspect the vehicle like a detective. Take photos, videos, check every angle, and tell staff about any damage before you drive off. Make them spell out the excess before you sign anything. This whole thing left me rattled, and Bunnings needs to sort this out. It’s not right to put customers in this position.
