I have loved using this app! It has saved me so much £££ and also given me opportunity to wear designers I have always wanted to try, without the big financial commitment! Feels good to do something sustainable as well and good for the world!

I rented a dress, turned up very beautiful but it had definitely seen better days had stains on it in numerous places and was clearly really quite old. Shouldn’t have been on this site .

I’ve had such a disappointing experience with BR twice now. I was referred by two fashion influencer friends whose wardrobes BR personally manages, so Had very high hopes but …
There is no enforcement to ensure lenders actually deliver the item! Use Vinted to buy secondhand event dress for about as much as you would pay to rent the item instead!)
I organised a dress to arrive the day before I was due to fly for holiday, packing all of my accessories around it. My lender (Who had 18 five star reviews) emailed me the morning of arrival saying she “forgot” to send it and I was left without an outfit for a really important work event while away. I wanted to leave a review for the lender to let others know because but you can’t leave a review if the Rental doesn’t arrive Which is ridiculous!! as you can see by so many of the other reviews, there’s nothing you can do about it Because by rotation doesn’t penalise lenders for not sending!
In all cases, Lenders can cancel up to 72 hours before, making it very hard to get something else in time. You have to wait a full 24 hours to even have a new rental request accepted.
In most of my other attempts to rent from them, Imagine the colossal waste of time I’ve spent going from lender to lender requesting to borrow a Dress when they have a full 24 hours to respond and you can only request one at a time!
I like the idea of Dress rentals, but Given the prices that most of the lenders need to charge to make enough from their rentals, (Roughly about 25% of the RRP), I found far more success just buying the dresses secondhand from Vinted which allows you to review for items both sent and not sent and strictly enforces timelines for sellers to send before automatically cancel the transaction and leaving them a negative review. It’s been very rare that I’ve had problems with a seller there and I’ve bought more than 30 things from there. Forget the Dress rental space, look at all the reviews for all of the providers and you’ll see that it’s not worth it. It takes a lot of management, Customer Service and reliable postal delivery times to make The concept work properly… As good of an idea as it is, these companies don’t have the money to ensure guarantees at this time.
I reached out to by rotation and they were useless.
AVOID! Rented out a dress on the site and a renter PINNED the dress, leaving significant damage (literal holes), I sent the site images of the holes and included written admission by the renter that she had pinned the dress. By rotation refused to award me any money so now the dress is unwearable and of course unrentable ! Please do not use this site for any items that you can’t afford to have damaged !

MY £1400 BAG WAS STOLEN BY THE PERSON RENTING AND BY ROTATION KEEP IGNORING MY EMAILS 2 MONTHS LATER AND ARE NOT REIMBURSING ME EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TRACKING, SIGNATURE ETC LIKE THEIR T&C’S STATE SO WILL BE PROCEEDING WITH COURT.

I noticed a TikTok where a lady had rented her wedding shoes from here. I actually own the shoes in question (Jimmy Choo Pearl Sacaria) and the ones in this TikTok were 100% fake. The toe shape, the insole design, the pearl pattern, ALL different to my ones. These are £1600 shoes as well so this lady probably paid a lot to rent them. I think it's awful their authenticity department did not pick this up, or do they not have one?
I know it shouldn't matter but when a premium is paid, you expect the real thing. I imagine they were probably the DHGate dupe.

So terrible with 0 customer support. I’ve rented lots of items on the app, had a few issues but none as bad as this.
I’m the lender, rented my Gucci jacket for a day, posted it to the renter who wore it then claimed they were unable to return due to their work not being close to a post office (in London). This went on for 2 weeks. Escalated to customer support who said they would look into it. Turns out the renter was trying to resell my jacket and it was now with a resale company, informed ByRotation they “can only apologise”. Having to try and explain to both company and renter that a one day rental means the jacket should be returned the day after and definitely should not be being sold to line the pockets of someone else. Neither seem to understand that. Finally after a month the renter sends my item back but I’m not in to pick it up (I’m away for 3 weeks - excellent timing for this to happen). Asked multiple times to send the item to the ByRotation head office, doesn’t seem to be an option until another week later (today) where they accuse me of writing the wrong address on my return so they will have to have it sent to their address. Check on my side, nope I’ve used the correct address, they’ve asked the renter to send it to the wrong address twice. So we’re now over 5 weeks since the item was meant to be returned to me, all for a one day rental that netted me £23.
Not worth the time, the stress and definitely if you’re going to do this don’t use this company. They offer 0 customer support and have messed the whole thing up further.
Have a great stock of items which makes sense to rent when you have an event. Fees are also affordable

Lender cancelled less than a week before rental!
BE VERY CAREFUL! Lenders can cancel up to 72 hours before rental date, which is what happened to me, meaning I have no dress for my 40th birthday party.
I reached out to by rotation and they were useless. I wanted to leave a review for the lender (mbs123) to warn others but you can’t leave a review if the lender cancels which is ridiculous! Do not rent from this website unless you have a back up!
First and last time renting.

Dress was destroyed by a renter and I spent weeks going back and forth with the customer service team to be told I was not going to get any compensation.

Love the idea of this but would only do it again if I knew the brand and the size I was in that brand. Recently rented a dress for a wedding. I am a 10/12. Was advised it would fit up to a size 12 because of the laced back. Minimum rental period 4 days. Dress arrived two days before the wedding. Tried it on. Only way it was going to fit a 12 was if the corset back was pretty much fully open. Wore the dress for about 1.5 minutes before realising it wasn’t going to work and I’d need another plan, and then had one day to find an alternative.
£104 for the rental
£19 postage to me
£19 postage back
£21.45 service fee
£1.25 id verification fee
And potentially £20 cleaning fee, which, even if it’s waived, is waived as a credit on the next hire
Almost £180 for the most expensive two minutes of my life. Don’t think I’d hire again. Could have bought something very nice and kept it for that price.

This company's customer service is horrible. They do communicate promptly. They provided me the wrong tracking information and waited until after my event and 3 days into my rental period to provide the proper tracking information. I have tried to get a refund and they are claiming it was delivered on time so they will not provide a refund. However, the package was lost for multiple days because of the incorrect tracking. They do not take accountability for their poor customer service and communication. Do not rent from here. It's not worth the hassle.

If k could give 0 stars I would. There awful sent my dress I paid for specific dates as I was going away then arrived when I was on holiday so i could not return for oblivious reasons. Agreed refund but no refund given I was accused of wearing the dress but i explained I was away
Please don’t use them

I really support the concept of this app but I echo everyone else’s comments about their business model and poor customer service. I’ve used By Rotation three times, two of the rentals had problems and their customer service just aren’t interested. They simply quote wordy T&C’s back at you and don’t help you with your problem so it’s just a waste of money.
My recent rental didn’t arrive on time so I couldn’t wear it for a wedding, when I tried to speak to them about this they just focussed on my return method and basically made out I was the one at fault. The item was returned late as it arrived late and I was away at a wedding - they completely ignored this fact.
Things go wrong, you need to be able to support both sides of the transaction but it’s clear it’s built for lenders, not renters and I wouldn’t recommend it. Also the fact that they argue with you over small details just proves they aren’t interested in the customer experience purely in profit.

I had a really bad experience and then a bad experience with their customer service too. I wouldn't recommend them, I would suggest HURR instead.

I rented a dress for a wedding which arrived crumpled which when ironed released a strong odour of both body odour and perfume of the previous owner. Despite my best attempts to steam the smell out the following morning I felt unable to wear the dress.
Despite my attempts to secure a refund I was fobbed off by both parties as I had not returned the dress within 24 hours of receipt. I was made to feel like I was in the wrong. Very poor customer service from a company which favours the hirers over the customer.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. By Rotation’s business model is extremely ‘lender’ friendly. They do not care about customers. The policies relating to receiving damaged or unwearable goods make for an extremely poor deal for renters. For example, if you receive an unwearable item, you do not get reimbursed for the tracked next day postage you have to pay to return it. You also have to return it the following day of receipt (which is highly likely the day you had intended to wear it, so likely are unavailable to go to a post office. They do not care about nasty lenders with terrible attitudes either. Terrible experience.

The concept is great however the execution is awful.
I rented a dress for £90 for a week. The dress arrived with bloodstains and holes in. Even though this was evident in the photos, I had to return address within 24 hours of receiving it.
The dress arrived a day late meaning that planning for this was impossible. I explained this to the lender who proceeded to say I was harassing her and said that her menopause, two jobs, dogs, mother in a nursing home et cetera were factors in delivering a dirty and damaged dress. By rotation said there was nothing I could do if I did not return address within 24 hours, I had to enlist a friend to return the dress for me which caused a lot of stress as I had ordered the dress ahead of a wedding abroad. The dress was returned successfully and I was refunded, however because the order was cancelled I was unable to leave a review for the atrocious borrower. This is clearly a tactic of irritation to hide poor experiences of renters.
The woman admitted on the platform that she sent the address knowing there was holes and blood on the dress, however she didn’t have time to get it cleaned. There is little to no protection for renters.
