My partner ordered three shutters for a bay window - main shutter is fine but the two side panels are so horrendously different it's completely appalling. Because there was a couple of mm height difference between the 2 sides (at nowhere on the website does it warn you that this could happen, otherwise I would have obviously requested them the same side) not only is there a different number of slats between sides, but the midtier bar is completely different too (even with matching measurements).
I was shocked at the lack of understanding from the customer services team. They claim this to be a 'mismeasure' (understandable to have an effect on some elements but how they have ended up looking completely different I don't understand!) and needs to be reordered at my expense which is outrageous and highlights the poor workmanship that this wasn't considered (order clearly labelled as BAY WINDOW) at production.
Very poor copy and paste customer service answers via email and I will certainly not be ordering anything else from these cowboys as I'm now left with very expensive mismatching shutters. I've recommended California Shutters from a good experience a few years ago, and regret it now. Other alternative companies available that all use the same supplier so go with them - PLEASE.

The quick fix isn't. Shutters arrived with a pack of spacers and misc. screws (many long ones) and no instructions. The online videos are useless. So I assembled the frame and couldn't see how to engage the quick fix screws, so I chat the helpline. Apparently I am supposed to remove the cover strips before assembly. 'No drilling is required'. But the cover strips can't be fitted after as there is a corner mitre and a centre post. So I drill through the cover strips from the back to be able to access the fixing screws, fit them and assemble the frame again. 1 minute later it is installed.

Just got our second set of shutters after purchasing the first set 5 years ago and very happy with them. The quality was excellent on the first set and the second set were even better the fitting was really easy and the instructions were easy to follow. Also the process of communication regarding delivery and general query’s was exceptional.

Unfortunately the shutters were manufactured with the pivot rods fixed on the wrong side, preventing the opening of the windows. After contacting the customer services team this was quickly rectified and new shutters were manufactured and dispatched to us.

Customer service was great when calling with measuring queries. Delivery was organised for when I was available and the shutters value was unbeatable. They look absolutely stunning and have received umpteen compliments on them. Very happy customer.

Ignore the reviews that complain about long delivery time if you're ordering the faux wood or upvc shutters. I bought the faux wood ones and they were delivered within two weeks. The faux wood ones are brilliant and look very classy. They were easy to fit; anybody with basic DIY skills and a modicum of common sense could fit them. I was a bit concerned when they arrived without instructions, but once I looked at them, it was obvious what went where. The only blip was that one shutter had a hinge missing and others had no hinge pin, but, once contacted, California Shutters were quick to correct and very apologetic; great customer service. I bought the cafe style ones which only had three sides to the frame, so they needed some careful handling. Probably not to be recommended, but I fitted mine using CT1 builders adhesive (not the screws provided), which meant I could manoeuvre them around to get them in exactly the right position before holding them in place with masking tape until the adhesive set; it made them an absolute doddle to fit, but, I did ensure that the glass for the window could be refitted from the outside if I needed to replace any glass. I had to fit mine in a bay window to aluminium frames, and there was very little leeway to be sure of using the screws correctly, so I thought the use of CT1 was a good compromise (they are stuck fast). My wife was over the moon with them when she returned home (I didn't tell her that I'd ordered them, it was a surprise). California Shutters' online videos were very helpful too, for the initial measuring up before ordering (they fit perfectly) as well as the actual fitting. All in all, a great buy. Cost a bit, but you get what you pay for!

The shutters we went for were the plastic ones, and we’ve no regrets whatsoever. Very fast manufacture and delivery, within about 10 days. Excellent packaging.

Three sets, for a bay window. They look double the money! Quality finish, nothing to fault.

If you’re considering these then have no doubts. They are not discernible to the wood ones we fitted in another room 9 years ago. They are wood, took about 5 months to get from somewhere else in the world, very frustrating at the time. These from California Shutters, in 10 days are fantastic!! Very pleased. Thanks.

The blinds have been very good. But your delivery needs work. The driver turned up over 3 hours late and I asked him why he hadn’t texted me with a more realistic Tim and he shrugged his shoulders.
I called your office to ask and they had no direct contact with the driver.

These shutters are fantastic. They’re well made and so easy to fit. If you’re unsure at any point there are videos and guidelines available to help.

I really wanted the wooden shutter blinds but the delivery time on those was 3 months! As oppose to 2/3 weeks with faux wood.
The colour silk white I think should have been more clear that it’s actually off white / cream looking than actually white so I was disappointed with that.

I think whilst the videos online show installation it should be more detailed, there were no further instructions other than basically fit the blinds
