Just left sitting by the guide crew
Just left sitting by the guide crew
In October and November 2025, we booked the cycle tour "Malaysia" offered by the company Cambodia Cycling. In Thailand from Phuket to the border to Malaysia we had a fragrant tour guide and beautiful experiences. But that changed when we crossed the border into Malaysia. Our new bike guide, Mr. Hun showed us a completely different tour guide. He just roughed away the cycling stages, constantly rode 500 to 1,000 m in front of our group and without stopping at the few sights along the route. However, he also had a lot to do with his mobile phone on his bike while cycling, which made any communication impossible anyway. Sometimes he organized dinner for us in the hotel of the stage. He always ate alone. If dinner at the hotel was not possible, he simply gave us 50 Ringit (10 €) each and left it to us to look for a restaurant ourselves. He didn't give us any hints for the "rest day" in Koala Lumpur and was happy to be left alone by us. Hence the "day of rest". He found the most outrageous form of tour guide on the penultimate day. He announced to us that the last cycling stage along a river to the border with Singapore would be cancelled, got into the car with his guide colleagues and disappeared never to be seen again. He just let us sit. Luckily, a taxi came to the hotel the next day and took us to the airport in Singapore.
"Thank you for the great tour guide" can probably no longer be written. Rather, like-minded people should be warned against Cambodia Cycling. Here you get the worst performance for good money. The other members of the guide crew also saw this with a guilty conscience. But Mr. Hun was the boss.
