Avoid canon products

Avoid canon products. I found they intentionally increase theirs consumables usage for every customer to spend more money. That happens with my printer. Even if in all settings I set black and white, that applies only to word document. Every other picture or PDF this printer forcing user to print by colour ink even if all is black and white. And if you disagree for printer message, the only option is cancelling print. In my opinion that is very dishonest on company site.

I took my printer to another country and I found that I can’t buy consumables in this country. However the only reason is because canon issue different models to different countries which is ridiculous. Making people stop from purchasing and forcing them to buy different product ? That very bad policy. Canon no longer delivers any value to customer.

No Wifi

Bought a Canon G1411 printer. It is advertised as being wifi connectable. Maybe it is? but they provide no instructions on how to do it. The video instruction on their website has been disabled. There is a generic guide in the online maual, but that has a lot of necessary setting information missing

Pay to put ink in, pay to take it out too

We bought a Canon Maxify GX6050 on the basis of very positive reviews from 'Which' Magazine.

It is notorious that inkjet manufacturers make their money on the replacement inks. However, many buyers will not know that this, and other, Canon printers also require replacement of a 'maintenance cartridge', which collects the ink that is wasted in head-cleaning and other operations. The cost is around £19 plus postage. However, here's the rub: all the retailers are out of stock, and not expecting supplies for a month...(The printer will not work until the maintenance cartridge is replaced.) This is consistent with other reviews about Canon supplies and suggests a company in collapse.

Never use, ever. Tantamount to fraud

Ordered a simple replacement cartridge. Money taken straight away. Cartridge never been seen or able to track since. Found some dubious ‘customer support’ type email address and that’s just a black hole. Rang the number given on the website +44 (0) 20 7660 0186 and it is just a recorded message saying the number isn’t in use.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS!

If I could give 0 stars I would.
The printer I ordered arrived smashed to bits and I have been waiting for weeks if not months now for a resolution.
I need the printer for my business.
I keep getting the same automated reply from them about 'being patient' and 'giving them more time' to look into the issue. It's been nearly 2 MONTHS.
In the meantime they still have my money, the printer has been collected back by UPS, and I haven't received a new one.
Please do not order from them!

Canon does not make toner for new printer!!

I'm writing in english, so everybody can understand.
So I buy a Canon i-Sensys MF655Cdw. They tell me it's a recent launch. After a month the 628pages color toner goes empty. I try to buy new ones... and I try... and I try. There is no way to find new Canon 067 Toners anywhere!.. Can you believe it? So I refill the empty ones (recondition them), install them, and the printer prints a "complaint" stating the toners are not legit and that I should go to "global dot canon slash ctc" and buy new original toner online. So I go and, guess what... the website says "out of stock"! LOL Bottom line: Canon sells a printer and "forgets" to stock its toner!! If I had stock (company shares) I would go and sell them ASAP.

Empty new Canon ink cartridge

This is my initial complaint to Canon:

"I was instructed to contact you for this complaint. I am hoping I can get this matter solved without having to deal with your service website and its interminable option menus none of which address a users wish to complain about a specific issue. The original message:

Good evening,
I bought this printer from Currys on the 10th October this year. It is reputed to be supplied with a full set of ink cartridges. It has now run out of black ink. I enclose a copy of the receipt of sale and a scan of the ink status. It shows full colour cartridges and zero black. I expect this is a production error and would be pleased to receive a new full black cartridge."

Of course it got worse. The information given was insufficient and more data was needed. Then the complaint had to be escalated to another department. The ink cartridge had to be returned. After a total of, I think 18 emails, I received one, just one, replacement cartridge three days ago. The first person I dealt with was delightful and understanding but could not help from her position the next was unhelpful and patronising. The printer works well with the new cartridge I bought while waiting for these people. How much did it cost Canon in hours for a £15 cartridge?

DON'T BOTHER IF YOU OWN AN APPLE MAC

DON'T BOTHER IF YOU OWN A MAC. Basically bought a printer, went travelling. Come back, start using it, going through a pack of ink a week, because won't let me select draft mode. Get in touch with Canon who waste 30 minutes of my time with fake advice before admitting actually this printer doesn't allow Macs to do draft. Might have been nice to put that in the advertisement?! Of course now I can't return it as time has passed. And have to give it away or throw it out. Super for the environment or what. First and last time buying with Canon. The girl I was talking too was like 'tough'. She didn't give a crap. Shocked.

Horrific experience!

Horrific experience!! I ordered a camera body, 2 lenses and an accessory on the canon website. When they were in my basket I added a student discount which applied and took around £300 off the price which was great. I then went to follow the check out steps, added in my shipping details and card details. Then selected the pay button, authorized the transaction in my banking app and confirmed everything. And then the Canon website didn't reload and froze on a blank white screen. Great.. over £3k out of my account and no confirmation on the website or over email. I waited 10 minutes for the email before deciding to contact customer service on their live chat. What an awful tool they use, no personality, no empathy, no apology. I managed to get an order number out of the chat but no details on my actual order or email confirmation of what i had paid. I could see the money had left my account already. I asked if this would delay my order and was told no and that everything was in hand. I let them know I really needed the order within 5 working days. They said it might be possible. I decided to wait a day for the full email confirmation. Of course this never came. I spoke to the chat function again the next day and was told my order had failed and I was advised to place a new order. I asked if there were known issues with the website and was told no, i asked if i could have a quicker delivery to make up for the delay and was told no, i asked if they knew when my order would be shipped and was told no, i asked about money coming back into my account and was told to contact my bank! I realized the people/robots/whatever working the chat were completely uninformed. I got my basket ready again to see if I could successfully place the order again but I was really not confident. I tried to apply the discount and of course that was now rejected as it had been used. I picked up the phone instead. My lord what a mistake. If you want to be spoken to like a 5 year old and talked over the top of and told how exactly to place an online order like you're some idiot and the internet has only just been created then give canon a call!!! They told me they could see the order and the 3 items i had place, i told them i had ordered 4 things. He didn't listen. He then told me the amount i had paid, i told him that was wrong and that i can see the transaction and I took photos of the order before ordering to note the items. He didn't listen. He then suggested i place an order over the phone since it's clearly me who's the incompetent one. I asked about delivery again due to the delay and was told that they do 5-7 working days as stated on their website. I told them that upon checking out I had gone to look over the Terms and Conditions that you have to agree to before paying and they stated 3 days. I was told I had looked in the wrong place! What?!? the legal document that i have to agree to that outlines the delivery terms is the wrong place to look?? I was then told that Canon ship from the Netherlands and that this is why they can't do fast delivery. That just topped it off for me. Their website doesnt work, they had my order items wrong, they had my payment amount wrong, their terms and conditions are wrong, they can't help or guarantee anything and you won't even get an "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" from them.

I am still waiting for goods ordered…

I am still waiting for goods ordered just after Christmas. Finally today received an email saying delayed because of Brexit. No replies to order acknowledgment email. Customer services contact links switched off on web. My worst ever experience with online ordering. Have received other goods from the Netherlands. Cannot understand how a company with such excellent products has such a poor service.
