Total Failure in Seller Protection—Facilitates Scamming and Theft
A highly rated seller who used to love and heavily use Cardmarket, but a recent high-value sale exposed how untrustworthy, dishonest, and anti-seller this platform truly is.
A high-value package was seemingly lost in transit. The buyer showed zero concern and became completely unresponsive right after I proactively provided a partial refund for shipping. I opened a case with Cardmarket support and provided absolute, undeniable proof, including:
Complete chat logs showing the buyer's requests, lack of concern for the missing package, and sudden unresponsiveness.
Official documentation from the delivery company confirming the loss.
Proof that the shipment successfully arrived in the destination country.
Despite all this evidence, Cardmarket support took an excruciating five weeks to respond, only to rule entirely in the buyer's favor. They refunded the buyer in full, refused to reimburse me for the partial shipping refund I already issued, and told me I would receive nothing for the sale. Cardmarket literally facilitated theft on their own platform awarding the buyer a full refund, the refund I had already sent, and potentially my €628 worth of cards that just missed the delivery scan.
The support team was incredibly unfriendly, inconsiderate, disrespectful, and dismissive. They do not protect their sellers and actively endorse scamming and the mistreatment of honest users. On top of their abysmal customer service, I have noticed a massive influx of fake card photos on the platform lately, proving their quality control is slipping.
When you combine their dishonest support with an interface that is terrible, basic, and outdated, it is time to find a new trading platform. I have moved to CardTrader, it has a much more up to date interface and is very welcoming. Do not sell high-value items on CardMarket, don't give them that % of your assets sales. Disgrace. You are completely unprotected against scammers.
Weird handling of disputes
They revoke your account without explanation after a rogue buyer made all kinds of claims and sends rude messages and leaves a hate review, damaging my reputation. Asking Cardmarket to intervene with poor buyer behaviour and standing your ground will get you banned from the site, even if you send screenshots and explain the situation. Be very cautious as a seller.
Paid... but money transfer not accepted
I paid for my order by bank transfer and some days later I got messages, that my shipments were cancelled as I did not pay... just then I realised, that the money simply came back to my account with no warning or message or explanation. I am glad that I got my money back. But I cannot shop through the website, if my bank transfers are not accepted.

Horrible if you have a problem with lost cards! No solution, no discussion, pay, sit down and be a good boy
They delete negative reviews of their sellers
I am totally bewildered.
I had a horrible expierence with a seller and gave him a bet review.
The customer support asked me to change my review because the seller requested it.
I refused, but they deleted my review anyway.
No wonder all the sellers have high reviews if the site just deletes the negitive reviews.
Great experience with supportservice
Haven't received my cards but the supportservice refund my purchase, even I choose the non-tracking letter. Thank you!

Support resolved the financial aspect…
Support resolved the financial aspect of the issue by ensuring refunds were processed, however the handling of the case felt incomplete.
My main concern was not properly addressed: a seller shipped an order after removing items without prior agreement or communication. Instead of clarifying whether this is correct platform procedure, the response focused only on closing the case once refunds were issued.
No clear guidance was provided regarding whether this type of order handling is acceptable or how it should be managed in future situations.
Overall, the support was fast in closing the case but not very helpful in terms of policy clarification or addressing the underlying issue.
Dispute system allows buyers to stall and support ignores facts
Cardmarket’s platform is good when transactions go smoothly, but their dispute handling is extremely disappointing.
I am currently involved in an authenticity dispute where the buyer claimed my card was counterfeit without providing any objective evidence.
Cardmarket instructed the buyer to send the card to them for verification, yet the buyer contacted me saying he tried to send it back to me instead.
I informed Cardmarket immediately because this directly contradicts their own procedure and raises serious concerns.
Their reply completely ignored my message and sent me a generic template about waiting 6 weeks.
At this point:
- my funds are blocked,
- my card is out of my control,
- and support is not addressing the actual issue.
Sellers deserve proper communication and actual case handling, not copy-paste responses.

Tried to buy a card
Tried to buy a card from it. Took half an hour to even figure out how to buy it. Took an hour to try and figure how to submit payment to it only to find out that the payment methods are very dodgy and cannot be done if you are under 18 and your account doesn’t accept Euros. Took another 20 minutes to figure out how to cancel and you have to send a request so it isn’t even a guaranteed cancel. Website is hard to navigate and looks like it is from the 2000s. If you are looking to buy a card just go to EBay or a NORMAL website not this bullshit.
