Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 138 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it unhelpful, difficult to reach, and noting issues with language comprehension. Customers frequently reported problems with unexpected fees, high interest rates, and issues with how payments were applied, especially concerning promotional offers. Many also experienced frustration with their credit limits being lowered without clear reasons, negatively impacting their credit scores. Conversely, a small portion of people were satisfied with the service, finding it helpful in covering emergency medical expenses for their pets or for vision correction surgery. Some reviewers appreciated the option to pay over time with no interest, and a few mentioned positive interactions with customer service representatives who helped with refunds.

Don'y deal with morons!

Their visual verification software sucks. First, it kept reporting that my Android phone's camera was not there. I called them 3 times, and 3 times they insisted on sending me a new link, assuring me that it would work that time. I've been a computer software professional for many years and know how that shit works. They kept acting according to the definition of insanity. Second, I tried to complete verification using my wife's phone. It took 5 go-rounds to complete it b/c it kept nitpicking about the video and pictures. Finally, when it was satisfied with visual verification, the site told me to call an 800 number. When I called, I was told they denied my application even though my credit rating is way over 800. Morons!

0 integrity company

I used to recommend Carecrediy to everyone. After sychrony bought them though it screwed up the log in without warning so I couldnt pay a bill or access my cards and when I called to make a payment they entered my information wrong and then refused to remove the charge they put on my card for their mistake nor would they call back after I called 4 times over 3 months. This company is unethical and if I didnt need mt credit I would have never paid thay $30 because I certainly didnt owe it to them. I am canceling my card and will never use sychrony again. I get that no company has integrity anymore but the principal of this was clear. They caused a problem which made me call, they caused a problem by entering my account information wrong, they caused a problem by charging me $30, they caused a problem by never returning my call, they caused a problem by refusing to remove a charge they shouldn't have charged me and it was wrong. I am furious I have given sychrony my buisness ever and will never do so again. I genuinly hope syncrony crashes and goes out of buisness. This wasnt about the money. Obviously I have $30 but so does synchrony and it was the principle of it and this company clearly doesnt know what principles are. The customer service was non existent. I kept calling over months anf was told to keep waiting and they would resolve. Only they never did.

HORRIBLE. They deserve zero stars

These guys are worse than the payday loan people as far as taking advantage of folks. Our cat came down with a cancer that was going to cost us a tremendous amount of money, and they were our only option. We made every payment on time and generally more than the minimum. They charged us $1000 in interest in December. We were able to pay them off a couple weeks ago, and we just got another $75 charge for interest, and the Customer Service rep I spoke to said there was nothing she could do about it. I can see why they have a 1.2 star rating on trust pilot. Even with the on-time payments and more than the minimum, they raised our interest rates to almost 40%. It's a scam and they are despicable company. Please don't even consider signing up for CareCredit.

Extremely high interest rate.

Although it is helpful for medical and dental paymens, the promotional charges are not made clear, and the interest rate is outrageously high, 32.99%. I was hit with a $1900 interest charge that put me over my credit limit. I called customer service to see if they could reduce the rate being a longtime card holder with on time payments, but no luck.

Shady Payoff Policy!

CARE Credit has helped me out when I’ve had veterinary emergencies, and they often extend credit when others won’t, so I appreciate them for that— hence the 3 stars. Unfortunately, I just had a bad experience with them, so I wanted to warn people.

I had a balance of nearly $3,000, and the promotional pricing had expired, so the interest rate accrued suddenly and completely, and was compounding rapidly, so it was becoming unmanageable. I was able to get a bill consolidation loan from my Credit union, so my credit union sent a check to CARE Credit for the loan balance. The check was sent early last week, and all my other creditors received the checks and credited my account, but CARE Credit is pretending they haven’t received the checks yet, and the interest is continuing to compound daily!

Delaying crediting the payoff check until the last second in order to keep charging interest is a shady business practice, and I’m thoroughly disgusted! My vet offers an alternative to CARE Credit now, and I will probably try the new card next time, as a result of this experience!

Straight scammed

Straight scammed. I used it for my dentist. Never miss payments. What they like to do is constantly lower your limit with no notice to under your current balance and start charging you overage fees. Even though you weren't over your old limit. Some payments they dont even apply to your balance just to all the random fees.

My cat was dying so I used credit care…

My cat was dying so I used credit care and synchrony bank.. first mistake! As my cat was in the vet dying I was not able to fully understand that the amount I financed was a promotion deal and now they have lowered my credit limit and caused my credit to shoot down about 80 points! I was not informed and was told it was in my statements of th app if I scrolled down to the bottom, however I was not notified via email nor by mail about any changes! I tried to call and got an extremely rude agent, they said there is nothing they can do and since the promotion ended I have 30 days to pay $,1600. I explained that at the time my cat was dying and the gentleman stated I heard you I understand you said your cat was dying 3 times.. just not compasión and I really did not understand what I signed up for due to it being a difficult situation in the vets and an unexpected death of my cat. Credit care and Synchrony are a scam and horrible option!! If you can avoid it never choose them!! I wish I hadn’t and read the reviews first but my cat was dying so they got over on me!
smh PLEASE AVOID CREDIT CARE AND SYNCHRONY AT ALL COST, WORSE FINANCE I’VE EVER DONE! THEY SHOULD NOT EVEN BE A COMPANY ANYMORE!

Taken advantage of in time of need

I feel mislead. My dog was about to die and I didn't have the money to save her. My vet said we had maybe 30 minutes because she had developed bloat. I knew she was dying and I was desperate. My vet recommended Care Credit. I was so upset when I applied I didn't look at the fine print. I get my statement today and see over a 1000 dollar interest charge. After looking further I see there was a promotion period and if balance wasn't paid my interest would go to 39%. I have no idea how I will pay it off now. Had I looked at the fine print I would have realized it and paid more monthly. Now I have over a negative 1000 dollar available Credit. I am thankful for the credit because it saved my dogs life. But feel the promotional period should have been explained better.

Stay away if you can

Stay away if you can! It took over 6 people until I finally spoke with the last person on why I can’t use my card. There agents in the fraud department are rude and one agent hung up on me after I told him I wanted to speak with a supervisor. I spoke with Amber and she was helpful at first an at the end was not helpful couldn’t even figure out why I can’t use my card. She said there isn’t much I can do.. so I told her so just wait for my account to close then since u can do anything or figure out the reason..All she said was I can transfer u back to customer service… so she did… and the last agent I spoke with if I can give her 5 stars I would. She explained to me why I couldn’t use my card and explained to me it’s listed hear on ur account… I got transferred all over the places and spent over 2 hours waiting…. Horrible customer service. At the end of all this I’m glad I didn’t use the card and glad my account will be canceling on the 16th of April… because who wants to deal with customer service like that… as a customer I sure wouldn’t… if u don’t like ur job as customer service then get a new job then..

Can't contact anyone

Can't contact anyone. On line statement is terrible and does not show my payments. Also charged me a late fee when not late. In truing to Use their promotional no interest offer, can't tell by their statement when I have paid in full to avoid interest charges. How can I get confirmation of paid in full from them? Veterinarian recommended them not knowing their reputation. They will now!

I had taken out credit with care care… what a huge mistake

I had taken out credit with care credit. $6,000+ was used for hardware for implants. One week after getting the credit I was let go from my job, meaning I could not afford the other $6,000+ to get the work done. I had the 12 month interest free plan. A month or so before the 12 months was ending, I requested an extension as I still had not found a job and they gave me one, which should have been good through the summer of 2026. I had a little over $300 out of the $12,000 left to pay off and next thing I know the bill is now $3,300+. I called and after an hour was put through to a supervisor who finally said if I paid $750 before April 2nd, they would wipe out the interest. I agreed. I even called back to make sure that notes were left and was told they were. On March 31st I went to pay the remainder and was told that there is no such thing in the notes and I need to pay the $3,300+. I was also told the calls were recorded and said "great, let's get the calls. They will show exactly what was said". I was put on hold and about ten minutes later, the lady came back and said the recorded call did not show what I said, but did show that they told me I had to pay the entire amount. This is simply not true. Also, how was she able to get my recorded call that quickly? I am going to call back today and see if I can get my hands on the recorded calls. this is not okay. I have still not been able to find a job. Imagine thinking you owe a bit over $300 and suddenly you owe $3,300+.

Their website is awful

Their website is awful. You cannot access charges on the card for any decent period of time, like the previous year for tax purposes and you can’t access rewards points records. The points expire after two years but there is no way to see when the points were acquired

Awful Company. Awful Customer Service. Stay Away!

I used to have an account with these people, I used it for vet bills as well as dental expenses. I had this account for a while and was very up to date on payments. I never missed a payment. Suddenly, two years ago, I found out I no longer have access to credit. I spoke to someone to try and figure this out, I tell them I've never missed a payment and they told me that because I turned auto pay off, they took my credit away. This is absolutely BS. What does auto pay have to do with keeping a line of credit? Anyway, I continue to make payments, with auto pay on to not cause any issues. Suddenly the payments stop. I went to my account to sign in and naturally I forgot my password. I click "forgot password" and it takes me to a different screen, where I'm prompted to put in my account number, now I don't have this memorized, so I go to the chat bot and try to speak my concerns there. The chat bot doesn't work and no matter how many sentences I put in. The same message pops up "oops looks like my wires got crossed. What to try that again?" This company is very disappointing. As well as their partner Synchrony who is just as disappointing. If you wish to open a line of credit, save yourself the grief and go to literally anyone else.

Care credit is a scam

Care credit is a scam, they are funded by Syncrony. They use deferred interest and once the promotional period ends you’re hit with thousands of dollars in interest. It's designed so that you never finish paying the card off. Every time I get close to paying it down, outrageous interest charges appear. I’ve lost over $4k because of this. Avoid CareCredit and do not bank with Synchrony.

Be very careful with this company

Be very careful with this company. I was in the middle of a dental procedure (4 sessions). I had a $2200 credit limit. Out of nowhere I got letter from them saying my credit limit dropped to $850 even though I had already charged over $1400 to the Dentist. The whole bill came to over $2000 leaving me scrambling to find the rest of the money. I closed my account immediately and paid them off. I have never had a credit card company do that to me. I never missed a payment. I am not the kind to argue or complain, I just will never use them again.
