CareerCrossroads is a data collection scam!

CareerCrossroads is a data collection scam. They pose looking like an in-person career fair, switch it to an online career fair, for which there is no link or organized agenda. They get job hopefulls to complete a profile, collecting all their personal data, say someone will contact them in 3-4 days the day of the supposed career fair. It's a scam and reddit users have interfaced with them for 7+ months and not gotten any of the promised services

The EventBrite algorithm promotes them which is garbage, contributing to the distribution of this scam. Please stop!

Hung up mid conversation

Applied for a job and the call back was disgusting.
Asked inappropriate questions and hung up on me abruptly.

A do not use is my suggestion to potential clients due to total lack of professionalism.

Be suspicious

Be suspicious. Is it legit?

My profile was finally approved after several months, but it is less than 100%. No information about how to get to 100%.

Where do you upload a resume? I can't figure that out.

I saw their event for networking on…

I saw their event for networking on eventbrite, filled out my account information and everything, even got a confirmation email. Tried signing in today, wrong password, even though it was saved thorugh google. Tried to reset, Email doesnt exist. Tried calling their number, doesnt even actually exist, its like a weird google voice number. Definitely something suspicious with data. I feel icky about my information be out there and stuff, should've came to see the reviews before I signed up.

careerscrossroad questionable legitimacy

+ Not transparent - who they are exactly
+ Signed up for tickets to e-event, never got ticket
+ They don't reveal who the participating companies are, unlike other job fairs
+ Looking online to find user reviews of their past events, and just a handful of reviews (most negative)

They are actually legit but takes a while

They are actually legit. My profile was finally reviewed and approved thou it did take a while(can’t blame them as the market is pretty hot now and they are probably overwhelmed). A tip I got from a friend contacted them is to make sure you complete your profile as complete as possible or else it might get passed when they do review it and you have to wait till the next round when the come back to review your profile again which might take a while). I got 2 interviews with companies I like and the experience was good but no offers yet :(

Tech Job Seekers Beware!

Tech Job Seekers Beware!
CareersCrossroad, Inc. is not a real job site. They post about tech career fairs in various cities under the name Tech Career Fair on Eventbrite. However, they have no online presence on any social media, nor any testimonials from companies, employees, or job seekers. There's also no way to delete your account with them once it's made. I made a profile with them for a job fair a month before the event and my profile is still "pending review" to this day. I don't know whether they're data mining or selling my information or something else, but they're most certainly a scam. Beware!
