Swift, caring, professional service

Our Care UK doctor was called just after surgery hours and gave my wife a full examination for the possible cause of her acute abdominal pain. He diagnosed likely pancreatitis, called the hospital and arranged for her to be admitted for observation and treatment. This action was timely and resulted in the problem being overcome. Grateful thanks to Care UK.

Very aware and caring - great setting for a brilliant day out.

We are a group of people with a learning disability and we were invited to sample the activities at lochpark adventure centre run by mr James Baird. from start to finish we were offered appropriate activities which were well organised with safety uppermost. Although these were new experiences for us we did not feel rushed or confused and the atmosphere led to more people having a go because it was relaxed. Andy Peacock led the activities and he was friendly and approachable and fun.
All in all we had a memorable day out thanks to the sensitive organisation.
If you are thinking of a group day out in beautiful surroundings I cannot reccommend this experience highly enough.
Thank You to All at Lochpark

What outstanding treatment!

Had second knee replacement in April at Emmersons Green Care UK Hospital. From the brilliant orthopaedic surgeon, wonderful nurses, lovely food, great private room complete with on suite, spotless facilities and marvellous care it was better than being in a top class hotel! Even when I returned home, I rang the 24 hour advice line as I had twisted my knee and was offered an appointment with my consultant the next day. I was given an ex-ray and examination and he assured me all was well. The whole experience was exceptional and Care UK must be congratulated for their professional services. I would certainly chose a Care UK facility again.

If you are skeptical Like I was don't be, the service is quick, good and the treatment if fine.

When I was first referred to LIMSS I was very concerned that I was being fobbed off with a second rate service just to get rid of constant moans about my shoulder pain.
When I queried the appointment My doctor, for whom I have great respect said " go along and see, if you don't like it you can always leave". I attended the appointment in the evening and was most surprised at the way it all went. everything about the place was very slick. the Consultant ,Doctor Jean, I can not remember his surname, was excellent. He recommended a particular treatment which he carried out there and then with the words lets see how you get on with this. It has worked very well indeed and whilst it is not a complete cure the pain has been reduced to almost zero and I can now do hours of manual work in the garden without the agony I suffered prior to my visit to LIMSS. In short give it a go, you will, I am sure, be as pleased as I am

First class care all the way.

My husband recently had operations on both his hands, one in February and one in April at Emmerson Green Treatment Centre. We were impressed with the ALL the staff, the cleanliness of the hospital, and the overall treatment he received. When I think that two days after both of his operations he had a call from a member of staff asking if he had recovered and did he have an concerns. That is over and above the call of duty. I would not hesitate to recommend the Centre to anyone and if ever either of us have treatment I would want it to be there.

Just simply 'the best'

Our dear Mum came to care UK in March 2014. She was a palative care resident, suffering from lung cancer. From the first time the arrangements were made, with the Cumberland Care home in Mitcham, she was made so very welcome. The care home manger, Tamba came to visit Mum in the local hospice in Cheam. They got to know one another well. Both myself and my 2 brothers cannot praise this care home enough! The staff there are simply amazing. We used to joke with Mum 'move over' we want to live here too! They are just the kindest, caring team we could have ever wished for, in every way possible. Not once was anything too much trouble, even when they were busy, the night team were equally lovely-we phoned everyday, visited Mum everyday and they were always informative, loving, kind and very professional at all times. Sadly mum's known illness took her on 7 May 2014. But we have been supported by this lovely care home from the first day to the last. We will continue to support them on their 'fete days' and any other events they hold. It our small way to say 'Thank you' for everything they did to keep Mum well, fed, washed, happy and she knew they cared so much, which meant we, her family were able to be assured she was safe, and in amazing hands. Mum said she felt the care she got was better than the hospice-which is the highest 'thank you' this care home could recieve.

From Evelyn,Anthony and Peter, in loving memory for our dear Mum-Una Precious.

Pity on a drowned rat!

I recently went to Emerson's Green in Bristol for an exploratory eye operation. The info regarding buses was out of date on the leaflet (hence four out of five stars) and I ended up walking over a mile in the pouring rain, arriving 10 minutes late and soaked to the skin. (One other criticism - signposting may be good for car drivers, but for pedestrians making their way from the shopping centre it is non-existent). The receptionist took one look at me, directed me to the waiting area, offered me a towel and dry clothes and a very welcome hot coffee. She told me to come and look for her after my treatment, where she had arranged a taxi home. In a day and age where service and civility are so rare, I am very grateful to you for your help.

GREVILLE HOUSE IN RICHMOND, SURREY IS EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!

My dear friends,
I would like to thank all the staff at GREVILLE House for their kindness, professionalism and friendliness, especially Linda and Fariya. Without exception everyone there, the Cleaners, Chef's, Care Staff and Management gave unconditional attention to my every need. Popping into my room for a chat whenever they could. They always had a smile for me!
I was very sorry to leave as I made such a lot of friends. A few of the staff have kept in touch and have even taken the time to visit me on their day off during my recent stay in hospital.
I cannot praise GREVILLE House enough and would be very happy to move there permanently if I could!
THANK YOU ALL.

Winchcombe Place puts residents at the top of the agenda with bright, airy and clean facilities, topped off with excellent staff.

My elderly father moved into the new home Winchcombe Place in Newbury, as the third resident in early April. Previously he had been a resident at a residential home in Poole.

The facilities are obviously brand new but all the staff have been extremely helpful and friendly, but professional. The ethos is that the home belongs to the residents with the staff being lucky to be able to share the environment. In my Dad's previous residential home I always got the feeling I was in the carers' way when I visited and that my Dad got in their way. At Winchcombe I feel welcome all the time and really feel it is my Dad's home as does he. Everywhere is bright and airy and restful.

Another great difference is that in the previous 6 months, my Dad had only been out in the fresh air a couple of times, however, it was a wet winter! At Winchcombe he has had a walk most days when the weather permits, either in the grounds with his zimmer or the staff have taken him farther afield in his wheelchair.

The staff are always thinking of new ideas to interest and stimulate the residents (talking about the news; what the residents had done during the war; playing skittles, reading poetry, planting seeds for the garden or going on trips to local historical buildings). The staff keep the relations involved and phone quickly to report problems.

The food is good and plentiful with choices should the residents not fancy the menu. There is plenty of room for residents to move about and pass one another in the corridors and a great choice of where they want to sit; whether that is in the cafe, the lounge, the hobby room or in their own rooms. Consequently they can keep as much independence as possible. Cleaning is continually being carried out and the air always smells good.

Warm, Welcoming and Outstanding Care given, at Wade House, Stowmarket.

This was my Dads first experience of respite care. He had a wonderful 10 days at Wade House in Stowmarket and the difference it has made to him is so lovely to see, he is happier and coping much better with everyday life since his stay.
The admission was classed as an emergency, and Manager Karen dealt with this so quickly, caringly & lovingly, making it such a warm and easy process.
All Staff were so very attentive, loving and caring, dad was made to feel welcomed as soon as he walked through the doors. The food looked and smelt amazing and Dads appetite came back very quickly. The safety & security was outstanding, both at the main doors and also inside the building, which put my mind at rest for Dads needs.
Dad had his own bedroom which was extremely clean and spacious and well equipped, with a lovely view out to the gardens.
Dad really enjoyed the company in the Lounge area mixing and chatting with others, but also having his own space in his bedroom to retreat to if he wished.
When Dads stay came to an end, he said he missed the company and the family feel he had enjoyed in his 10 day stay.
The standard of care was outstanding and I would highly recommend Wade House, Stowmarket to anyone considering choosing a care home.

Professional and caring

I perceived my procedure to be uncomfortable at the least and painful at the worst. However, every single member of staff from receptionist to surgeon, went to extreme lengths to put me at ease. All were calm and all had a sense of humor. I felt that they had thought of everything to enhance my recovery and dignity. Although hospitals are not somewhere that I enjoy going to, it was different on this occasion. My deep thanks to all staff who looked after me.

The customer care and concern that I received from consultation to the operation and rehabilitation was second to none

Having visited my doctor and the consequential referral due to my Arthritis to your Physiotherapist . I was absolutely reassured and amazed at the level of care and professionalism , within the whole process my follow up appointments and calls as well as the common courtesy of all staff within the process.
The anesthetist team the hospital staff and my consultant surgeon were all highly professional and reassuring which brings great peace and comfort to someone having such a high level operation.
The Pre Op team were very reassuring and thorough and I appreciated the time that they spent with be to align my fears and concerns
I would like to thank Care UK once again for your extremely high standards of care and aftercare, which is really reassuring to anyone having contact with the health service in Ilford

Determined to get to the root of the problem.

I was very impressed with the care I was given at Care UK in North Hykeham. The doctor I saw was determined to find the cause of my pain and sent me for ultrasound and MRI scans at the Centre all within a few weeks. The staff are polite, professional and respectful, and I would definitely recommend this company to my friends.

I was very happy with the care are attention at The Royal South Hants

I am just recovering from my third operation at at Care UK, Royal South Hants. I had two knee operations in 2011 and 2012. I have just had my left hip operation and am due to have my right hip done in about 3 months. I was very happy with the care and attention during my first and second operations. I have seen changes over the three years. I thought that the care and attention was very good during the first two operations, but this time the care was excellent. From the time that you register at the reception right through the whole time you are under the care of Care UK you are well cared for. The surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff are very attentative, pleasant and always cheerful and would put anyone with any fears at ease. My GP gave me a choice where I wanted to have my recent operation and I knew straight away without any hesitation. I would certainly recommend Care UK to anyone. I would like to thank all surgeons, doctors and nurses and general staff for the care that I had whilst in hospital.

Caring, compassionate extremely good with dealing with childrens injuries nd accidents. superb at their job

From the minute we entered the treatment centre we we looked after really well. Having a 9 year old with a broken arm he needed a calm area which ia exactly what we got. The staff were wonderful willing to shre a joke to put Rio at ease. Everything was explained to him before they did anything which was great as he new what to expect, which again put him at ease. If you ever need medical assistance then St Marys treatment centre is a fantsstic resource that I for one are very proud to have in our community.

I am so happy that mother is being looked after so well

Mother has been a very independant lady and totally self-sufficient but then a bad fall gave us great worries and after various home carers, we realized full care was necessary and the new Ambleside was the perfect location for me to visit and check on her wellbeing. All the staff are so kind and helpful and always inform you if there is a problem. Ambleside is a lovely spacious building, well furnished with a large landscaped garden. The dining room is large - the tables are always well laid with flowers on each table and the food is excellent. There are many activities to entertain the residents which is important. All in all, I am very happy that my mother is staying there.

Dedicated, holistic care & attention to detail

My sister and I had been searching high and low throughout Warwickshire and Oxfordshire for a care home where we could feel comfortable about leaving my mother, unfortunately and depressingly without much success. At 90, recently widowed, and with mild Alzheimer's, my mother was sad, lonely, disorientated, bored, and not coping well with daily living. We were hoping to find a Home where she could be autonomous in those areas where she is capable, but get support and assistance with tasks she finds more challenging and, most of all, have plenty of friendly company.
We stumbled across the newly-built Ambleside Care UK home by chance and just from the very first meeting with the 'front of house' manager Jason felt that this establishment ticked all the right boxes. Jason explained Care UK's philosophy and ethics, and was able to answer all sorts of questions both at our meetings and then in subsequent emails. We felt immensely reassured and booked my mother in for an assessment, at which she was treated with great kindness and dignity. It is always a heart-wrenching decision to put a parent in a care home, but on meeting the staff at Ambleside and watching their modus operandi, we felt that at last we'd found the right place.
If anything, I would say our expectations have been exceeded. The staff/resident ratio is very good and we can see that my mother gets lots of care and attention at all times. All the staff have a lovely attitude and are so kind and caring: I have never met a single one who seems brusque or offhand.
There is no "one size fits all" approach: care plans are judiciously tailored to the individual's needs and capabilities. My sister and I visit virtually every day so have got to know staff and other residents quite well - we have never come in and found a lounge full of people nodding off in front of the TV! On the contrary, we usually find those who are able engaged in some interesting or fun activity such as simple crosswords, jigsaws, other games, art work, cake decorating, pot gardening, etc, or having a hand massage or other relaxation treatment. I have noticed that these activities are not staged according to a strict timetable (as I have seen in other Homes) but are organised according to who happens to be present, and what their abilities are. Hats off to the 'Activities Ladies' who approach their work with dedication and imagination!
In addition, outings to garden centres and a panto have been arranged, and quite often entertainers come into the Home, e.g. a band, a folk group singing Carols, performers singing old-time songs, karaoke. Whenever I have "butted in" to one of these events I have found the "old folks" swaying to the music or singing along. I have read that one of the last things to "go" is appreciation of music, so Ambleside is spot on here!
Ambleside staff are also very good at updating us on any little incident or change, e.g. if my mother has a little fall or stumble, they will always phone to let us know, however minor the event. The nursing care is second to none.
Relatives are treated as "part of the family" and from the General Manager down, they all know our and our husbands' names and treat us with friendliness and respect, remembering events in our lives and always asking after us. Relatives are always made very welcome with teas, coffees, pastries or even lunch. Oh, and the food is excellent, as are the furnishings and design of the place.

We really can't fault Ambleside and feel very comfortable with our decision.

A five star stay at Ambleside Stratford

Mum spent 3 weeks on a respite visit to Ambleside Stratford. It was the first time she had stayed in a care home and was wary of going. The staff were so friendly from the moment she walked through the door that her worries disappeared immediately. She was kept busy every day, which was just what Mum needed. She even had the chef out in the garden practising golf with her!
