I have a very bad experience with CX…
I have a very bad experience with CX for the route of Vancouver to Hong Kong anf HK to Vancouver The have run out of food choices on both flights. i was sitting on the fifth row from the front. i don't understand how this can happen. Also the food choices are not impressive at all. The food that was served was not hot either. They gave you only one small bottle of water for the whole flight. When I asked for another one. i was told that they have ran out. They asked me if i want some tap water from the dirty water tank instead. This is really unacceptable.
How this is a top-rated airline I have no idea!
I had a great flight from LHR - HKG two weeks ago but on reflection that was simply because it was a quiet flight and I had a row to myself. Plus - the A350 is undoubtedly a much better and more spacious experience.
Last night, however, flying from HKG - LHR on a Boeing 777 was probably one of the worst long haul flights I've endured. The 3-4-3 configuration is SO TIGHT - you can't even walk down the aisle without hitting someone every metre.
The space in economy is akin to an EasyJet flight, and the crew were so unfriendly - they would wake people up to put their blinds down and they woke me up (during the very short time I actually managed to doze off because of the discomfort, and I'm only 5'3!) to make me put my chair up straight so the person behind could eat their meal. This hasn't happened to me on other airlines so I was surprised (and angered) by this.
Bearing in mind I didn't eat any meals on the plane, it felt like I was asking for the world on the 2 occasions I asked them to fill up my water bottle - and I have no idea where that water comes from but it does not taste fresh or healthy.
Next time I do this route I'll be choosing to go indirect via the middle east, absolutely shocking service from Cathay.
Perfecto
What a amazing first impression of airline at check in
Highly skilled and professional agent helped us and give us our desired seats as well as attentively looked into my kids needs
Well done iqra

Flight from Hkng to Toronto today
Flight from Hkng to Toronto today. I've asked for bottled water three times from three stewardess in a span of 2 hours. All said they would look and come back to confirm. Crickets! (nobody came back).
A male steward even have the audacity to throw tantrum when I refused tap water. Who offers tap water in a plane?
Meal was also served 1.5 hours before landing. 20 minutes before landing, they are still collecting trays, by hand, from passengers. Very unsafe.
Not your best performance to date. Also, not coming back to passengers after confirming to look into it is unprofessional.
Very friendly staff, (shout out to Areenha Akram)
Areenha Akram had been very helpful in our journey!!! She was very warm and friendly, and I feel very safe having her help out with my travel troubles.
Cannot thank her enough and wanted to leave a review here to show my appreciation.
Abandoned at Heathrow – Useless Support
Extremely disappointed with Cathay Pacific. My flight from London Heathrow to Hong Kong was delayed by over 2 hours, and the support was non-existent. No vouchers for food, no updates from staff, and absolutely zero assistance while we were stranded at the gate. When I asked about compensation or support, I was ignored. For a "premium" airline, this level of service is a joke. Avoid if you value your time and basic passenger rights.
I recently travelled on Cathey Pacific…
I recently travelled on Cathey Pacific from Toronto, to Colombo on Business Class, flying via HongKong. My ticket was purchased directly through their website.
I travel from Toronto to Colombo at least once per year, mostly flying with Qatar Airways or Emirates.I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the aircrafts used as well as the quality of their service. I just returned home to Canada flying with Cathay Pacific. One of the greatest features with their Business Class is that there is extra room in the foot well of the seat, compared to other airlines. I would give them a five star rating for the excellent service provided by the crew, including their meal service, which is above average.
Cathay Pacific offers nothing but stale faces and smelly seats
Cathay Pacific offers nothing but the thinnest veneer of customer service while slashing quality in every corner to squeeze more profits. They refuse to seat families together unless you fork over extra for seat selection, turning a basic decency into a cash grab. The service staff are dismissive, overworked, and poorly trained, barely masking their indifference. Seats reek of neglect, and the entire inflight experience screams low-budget airline—stale, uncomfortable, and utterly forgettable. Worst of all, they showed zero compassion by failing to rearrange seats for my sick and pregnant wife, leaving our family separated on a long-haul flight. This airline is a disgrace; choose anyone else!
Worst airline we have booked vegetarian…
Worst airline we have booked vegetarian meal and they didn’t have any veggie option for 11 hours flight disgusting they didn’t offered any extra fruit .
Severe cabin hygiene failure – strong vomit odour and unusable contaminated seat on 13-hour long-haul flight with toddler (inadequate response from Cathay Pacific)
On an outbound long-haul flight in late 2025, our assigned seat was visibly contaminated with vomit residue and emitted a strong, persistent odour. The contamination was immediately confirmed as "unacceptable" by the Senior Purser and Inflight Service Manager upon boarding. Despite this, no alternative seat was available on the fully booked flight, and we were forced to remain in the affected area.
As a result, my 2-year-old son had no usable paid seat for the entire 13+ hour journey and had to be held on our laps the whole time, causing him significant distress and preventing any rest. My wife carried him for most of the flight, arrived exhausted and in tears, and her clothing absorbed the odour so severely that the items had to be discarded immediately after landing (crew noted at the time; receipts available).
Three fully paid passengers (including a toddler) effectively shared only two seats, rendering the service paid for unusable and creating serious hygiene and safety concerns. The first 2-3 days of our long-awaited family holiday in Hong Kong were ruined recovering instead of enjoying time with relatives.
I escalated the matter repeatedly over two months via email, multiple hotline calls (including a high-priority remark from a Senior Supervisor), and an in-person attempt at the airport on the return flight. Cathay Pacific consistently offered only 30,000 Asia Miles total as "maximum" compensation under their policy, which I rejected as wholly inadequate for the severity of the incident.
Absolutely horrible customer service
Absolutely horrible customer service
Very unprofessional and rude from check in staff to air hostess staff they tried to charge me for baggage I'd paid for already Absolutely nightmare will not be flying with this scamming airline again
This airline lying about offering me…
This airline lying about offering me alternative flight with a different airline when they're staff told us there was no other flights due to the time at 12:00 in the morning.
they lied to the ombudsman and got their own way.
This company love to serve alcohol to three-year-olds.
And now.reporta of thefts on aircrafts.
Stolen Item
I lodge a complaint regarding a missing watch from my passport bag during my travel on Cathay Pacific flight CX128 from Auckland (AKL) to Delhi (DEL) on 23 December.
I was seated in row 40 (seats A/B/C). During the flight, I inadvertently left my passport bag on board the aircraft. Upon realizing this, I immediately approached airline staff, and the bag was promptly retrieved from the aircraft and returned to me.
However, when I later checked the contents of my passport bag, I discovered that my watch was missing. The watch was inside the bag prior to the flight and was not removed by me at any point. The bag was out of my possession only during the time it remained on the aircraft after disembarkation.
This incident has caused me considerable distress, as the watch is of significant value to me. I request that Cathay Pacific conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and inform me of the outcome at the earliest possible convenience.
No shame
Cathay Airline is a dodgy company, beware.
Assuming one is allowed to write without a rating, I would not have given these thieves a star.
I booked this dodgy airline to travel from Manchester to Australia. Paid extra for a second 23kg. Only for me to arrive for my check-in on the date, and I was told that I would not be allowed to fly because I needed to have obtained a transit visa to Hong Kong. I booked the ticket via an agent (booking.com) and they insisted that I should contact the agent for the refund process. After back and forth with both Cathay and the agent, they now made it in such a way that I was the one canceling my flight and collected £300 cancellation fee. They told me that the extra luggage fee was non-refundable.
I had to book an emergency flight and paid almost double of what I paid for the useless Cathay flight.
This company is dubious. They should have restricted booking to people who do not require a transit visa. Please can the British aviation industry look into this issue. This company is systematically duping people of their hard-earned money.
Cathay Pacific is the worst airline you can take
This is the worst airline you can take. They have the most incompetent customer service you can imagine. Pre-covid I would fly every week to every two weeks consistent for over 4 years so I am very well versed in travel. Historically o fly Air Canada mostly and this was my first time flying Cathay Pacific. I recently had a trip with my wife to China with a layover in Hong Kong. On our way there, our flight was delayed from Vancouver and we ended up missing our connection to our final destination. When we arrived at Hong Kong, they informed us, along with numerous other passengers, that we would not make ou4 connection. Instead if booking us on the next flight, they Instead said the only options for us was a bus ride or a ferry ride, all of which would add 6.5 hours to our final destination instead of the 1hr flight. This would have been ok if they reimbursed us for the flight seeing as a bus or ferry ride is in no way even close to the cost of a flight. But they did no such thing and told us if we didn't like the two options we could find our own way to our final destination. This was extremely infuriating to say the least. We ended up paying for a train to our final destination. I called their customer service and requested a partial refund since we paid for a flight and didn't receive it. I couldn't believe it when they told me they weren't responsible for it and they they would not compensate me in any way. I paid for something I never received. Absolutely the worst airline. I will never fly with them again.
I have never seen airline like this
I have never seen airline like this , I mean the most shittiest airline ever . I had emergency and they gave me lot of trouble just to change the name on the flight. I will never come back ever I hated my experience.I called you guys and they were so mean.-0 stars for cathay.
Avoid Cathay Pacific if you have any medical condition
I flew Premium Economy from Singapore to Dallas via Hong Kong with a documented L4/5 disc injury and a letter from my neurosurgeon requesting appropriate seating. I specifically paid extra for Premium Economy because of my back condition, expecting more space and better seating options to manage my injury. What followed was a masterclass in corporate indifference that has left me with lasting consequences.
I called days before the flight to arrange an aisle seat so I could stand and move as medically required. I was told to either book an entirely new flight or raise it at check-in. At check-in in Singapore, staff shrugged and said they couldn't help with the Hong Kong to Dallas leg - try again in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, same story. I was passed from person to person, nobody willing to take responsibility.
The result? Despite paying a premium fare for my medical needs, I was stuck in a middle seat for a 16-hour flight between two passengers who made it clear they weren't moving to make it easy for me to get out. This made it difficult to stand, stretch, and manage my condition. So much for the "premium" I paid for.
I was making good progress with my recovery before this flight. Following Cathay Pacific's failure to accommodate my documented medical needs, my condition worsened significantly and I now face months of additional rehabilitation. I'm back to square one, dealing with increased pain, and a recovery timeline that has been extended significantly - all because this airline couldn't be bothered to help.
Their official response? A copy-paste explanation of their "first come first served" seat policy. They completely ignored that this was a documented medical request, not a window-versus-aisle preference. No apology. No acknowledgment. Nothing.
I paid more expecting better. I got worse. If you have any medical condition, mobility issue, or expect basic human consideration, fly with literally anyone else.
Arrived home on our flight from Hong…
Arrived home on our flight from Hong Kong to Melbourne only to find that our Luggage (all 5) was left behind in Hong Kong. I raised this with the Cathay customer service team, only to receive a generic response with a lack of empathy and accountability. On the flight the crew moved our carry on without our consent, it was not until we raised our concerns that they asked if it was ok. I would be very reluctant to book with Cathay again as they demonstrate no accountability for the fault of mishandling our luggages, deflecting the blame on the passenger by providing advice that was demeaning. Show some accountability for god sake.
CX Great Business, Great People
Cathay Pacific Airways has been a great airline for decades. Their style has remarkably been successful in their industry. I like to say one thing about the airline business direction. " Very effective on the market. " Their strategy with the current executive group has been a sucessful story and it is a very competive market out there, but so far Cathay Pacific has not been dissapointed.

Disappointing customer care
Our flight from Narita to Hong Kong was delayed by four hours. Although we were booked onto another flight with a different airline this flight was also delayed, resulting in us missing our connecting flight to London Heathrow. We were then booked onto a flight to Zurich with another connection from Zurich to Heathrow. The flight to Zurich was delayed by an hour. We finally landed at Heathrow four and a half hours later than we should have. Although we appreciated the efforts of Cathay Pacific we had to buy new rail tickets on the day as we were too late for the train we had booked seats on (despite allowing what should have been ample time to get to the railway station). We were also allocated seats in economy for the final leg of our journey despite having paid for premium economy. I approached Cathay Pacific asking for reimbursement of the cost of replacement rail tickets whilst simultaneously our travel agent applied for compensation on the fare owing to the lack of premium economy seating from Zurich. Both claims were denied despite Cathay Pacific processing to being committed to customer care. We will not travel with Cathay Pacific again.
