Title: Long Waits and Unsatisfactory Reports
I had my children assessed for autism at Caudwell Children. I was told it would take 4 months, but we ended up waiting 21 months for the assessments and another 5 months for feedback and a diagnosis.
The reports were vague, contained misquoted statements, and included information not supported by historical evidence. Some details about my children were even mixed up, and the clinical team refused to make corrections.
While Caudwell Children looks impressive on paper and in person, our experience was frustrating and disappointing. Families are also expected to pay around £500 towards assessments and complete extensive financial paperwork, despite claims of funding.
For faster assessments, I recommend using Right to Choose, which works with organizations that have waiting lists of about 3 months and do not charge a fee.
Due to the issues above, my GP has referred my children to another clinic for reassessment, which required repeating the paperwork. Based on our experience, I would not use Caudwell Children again.
