CD Baby offers one thing: distribute your music, and does it well. I can't give 5 stars just yet because my package hasn't arrived, and won't till May 22 (my chosen date). But, for a distributor... See more

About CD Baby
Written by the company
Music distribution is about getting your songs in front of the most people possible. That’s why over a million independent creators worldwide use CD Baby to release their music across all major digital streaming platforms like Spotify, TikTok and YouTube Music.
CD Baby makes releasing music affordable— all our distribution services for just a one-time fee of $9.99 per release, whether it's a single or an album. And whenever we add a new digital retail partner, your music catalogue will be delivered to them free of charge.
Many music distributors claim to offer free music distribution but charge additional per-retailer fees, annual subs fees, cancellation fees, and all kinds of hidden add-ons and upsells for additional services. CD Baby has no recurring subscription fees, so you don’t have to worry about us ever taking down your music if you miss a payment (there are no payments!)
CD Baby also offers Mechanical and Digital Performance Royalty collection and Sync Licensing as part of our Boost service, as well as our Stages program for emerging artists. Stages offers a suite of valuable artist services, moving with you as your artist career advances and unlocking new opportunities such as expedited release inspection, DSP playlist pitching, and more.

CD manufacturing, customer service poor
Very happy with digital distribution. Not at all happy with CD pressing--WAY too many defective discs, so far the failure rate is over 10%. Also, customer service is nonexistent--you'll wait at least 3 weeks for a response to a query. Would NOT use for CD manufacturing again.

Have 15 records out,and was on the ground floor (actual CDS) Proud of you,for a fee start shopping tunes of original artists like me
It was great
It was great! The only confusing part was why, when it came to social media monetization, it wouldn’t let me. Very frustrating as my entire album is 100% original instrumental piano music - which would qualify for monetization. Other than that the process was quick, easy to use, and rewarding! Thanks, Steve

zero customer service, errors that impacted my music launch
CD babies errors and lack of customer service significantly impacted the success of my music launch. They uploaded the wrong part of my song to TikTok and I ran into multiple copyright issues promoting my own music. When I reached out to CD Baby for help with both of these issues, I was given unhelpful AI bots to talk to for an entire week. To this day, nobody has reached out for support. I will never be using them again.
