The worst experience of my life when it comes to car dealer / garage. I left my Jaguar C de Salamanca in San Pedro / Marbella to change the timing chain in prevention because apparently this type of engine needs it around 130.000 km. I consulted with them, left the car, and they agreed that it should be changed although it wasn't that bad at the moment. I left the car and paid 4.200 euros + rental car. I got the car back the motor temperature was cold and there was a whining sound from the car. I got back to them and they gave me an appointment 2 weeks from that day. I questioned it because something was wrong from the service but the advice was don't drive the car if you think there is something wrong. I went to Jaguar and a friendly man took it in, they came back with broken water pump 1.200 euros. I asked how it was possible when it worked before. But they convinced me that it had nothing to do with the change of timing chain. I still had the sound, at first I thought it had to do with the new chain (I am not a mechanic). I ordered a new visit, which they gave again 3 weeks from the day. I left the car for them to investigate, that came back after 2 weeks and said it's the gearbox. Well the only people who have touched it are C de Salamanca. The car is still there and they refuse to fix the problem themselves made. They are the only ones during years who have serviced it, they know the sound wasn't there when I left the car, they just leave you as a client although I already paid the 6.000 euros. My car is broken after their work and I so regretting leaving it for the timing chain replacement. A real disaster company and I advice anyone not to go there unless you want to find yourself with a broken car and taking legal actions.
I have been asked to add to my experience so i will add a couple of lines.
I feel I get no understanding about my problem, i myself had to insist that there is something wrong after the car was given back to me, the car is now almost 2 months in the dealers facilities. I do not feel prioritized as a customer nor do i feel that the company wants take responsibility for what happend during the time the car was in their care.
For those less knowledgeable, to change the timing chain just a small summary of all the pieces which are touched and disconnected:

* The Fuel Injector Layout & Seals
* The Complete Exhaust, EGR, and Emissions Assembly
* The Main Engine Electrical Wiring Harnesses
Even if you are not a mechanic this information is widely available.
Given that the workshop claims parts were not touched, anyone familiar with this engine knows the entire transmission and cooling system must be fully disconnected to access the rear timing chains. The mechanical overlap is undeniable.

Hemos tenido conocimiento de los comentarios públicos que viene realizando respecto a la intervención efectuada en su vehículo Jaguar, comentarios que contienen acusaciones y conclusiones técnicas que carecen de fundamento objetivo y que han sido formuladas sin disponer de los conocimientos técnicos necesarios para determinar el origen de una avería de esta naturaleza.
Conviene recordar que ni usted es técnico especialista de Jaguar ni ha participado en el proceso de diagnóstico e inspección del vehículo. Del mismo modo que un paciente no determina por sí mismo un diagnóstico médico ni prescribe el tratamiento que debe aplicarle un facultativo, tampoco corresponde a un propietario establecer el origen de una avería o atribuir responsabilidades técnicas sin contar con los conocimientos, medios de diagnóstico y experiencia necesarios para ello.
C. de Salamanca ha realizado todas las actuaciones siguiendo estrictamente los procedimientos, métodos de reparación y planillas técnicas establecidos por Jaguar Land Rover, utilizando personal cualificado y cumpliendo los estándares exigidos por el fabricante.
Resulta especialmente sorprendente que afirme públicamente que “el taller ha creado el problema” cuando no dispone de ningún informe pericial o evidencia técnica independiente que respalde semejante acusación. Se trata, por tanto, de una apreciación exclusivamente personal que carece de soporte técnico acreditado.
Asimismo, es importante señalar que los trabajos realizados en el sistema de distribución no guardan relación técnica con los componentes internos de la caja de cambios actualmente objeto de análisis. Se trata de sistemas mecánicos distintos e independientes.
Por otro lado, en vehículos con la antigüedad y kilometraje del suyo es perfectamente posible que determinadas anomalías o desgastes permanezcan enmascarados por otros ruidos o incidencias mecánicas preexistentes. Es una situación habitual en diagnósticos complejos que, una vez corregida una avería principal, se hagan perceptibles otros ruidos o síntomas que anteriormente quedaban ocultos.
Precisamente por ello, nuestros técnicos continúan trabajando en su vehículo para determinar con exactitud el origen de las incidencias detectadas, basándose en criterios técnicos y no en suposiciones o conclusiones anticipadas.
Lamentamos que haya optado por realizar acusaciones públicas antes de conocer el resultado definitivo de las comprobaciones y antes de mantener la reunión ya programada para la próxima semana con el Jefe de Taller y el Jefe de Servicio, reunión en la que se le explicarán detalladamente las actuaciones realizadas y las conclusiones técnicas obtenidas hasta la fecha.
Igualmente, le informamos de que C. de Salamanca se reserva expresamente el derecho a ejercitar cuantas acciones legales resulten oportunas para proteger su honor, prestigio profesional e imagen comercial frente a manifestaciones públicas que puedan resultar falsas, inexactas, difamatorias o carentes de sustento técnico acreditado.
La crítica legítima es siempre respetable; sin embargo, atribuir públicamente a una empresa actuaciones negligentes o la generación de averías sin prueba técnica que lo respalde constituye una cuestión muy distinta que puede dar lugar a las responsabilidades que legalmente correspondan.
Por ello, le invitamos a esperar a la finalización de las comprobaciones técnicas en curso y a la reunión prevista con nuestros responsables antes de seguir realizando afirmaciones que, llegado el caso, deberán ser debidamente acreditadas.
