Holding Deposit means nothing...

We gave them our holding deposit for a studio apartment in London. While we were busy preparing all of the references we received an email saying that the property was now being let to another Tennant. Fortunately they refunded our deposit, but what is the point in putting down a deposit if they are going to rent it to someone else and not even have the decency to phone you!

Ultimately most other parts of our experience with them were satisfactory but this certainly soured the whole business.
