I was able to pass my Sec+ exam on the first try yesterday. I recognized some of the concepts from some of the items mentioned via Certblaster.

Some answers from the SY0-601 exam are…

Some answers from the SY0-601 exam are wrong, e.g., Arduino is not a microcontroller.

The Security+ Study Guide states "Raspberry Pi (raspberrypi.org) and Arduino (arduino.cc) are examples of SoC boards, initially devised as educational tools, but now widely used for industrial applications, and hacking.".

Arduino boards feature microcontrollers from ATMEL (now Microchip Technology) and lately from ST Microelectronics.

Thank you for your feedback, Umberto! Strictly speaking, Arduino is an open-source project heavy on IC. However, the learning objective of the question is CompTIA Domain 2.6 - "Explain the security implications of embedded and specialized systems". In this context, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and Arduino are the learning objectives. Comparing the two ICs FPGA is commonly a 64-bit or even 128-bit microprocessor that can perform multiple preprogrammed complex tasks simultaneously while the Arduino is an 8-bit microcontroller designed to perform a simple short instruction set or task repeatedly and reliably. The question being "Which of the choices shown is an embedded system IC (integrated circuit) chip? (Choose two)" we feel Arduino is both correct and releveant to the objective.

Great stuff

Great stuff. I like every bit of it. Very helpful, in preparing me for the impending exams. Thanks.👍

Some things could be imporved

Some of the wording/grammer is incorrect and can make it difficult to follow. Also, a lot of the answers do not explain all of the questions which makes learning why you got something wrong extremely difficult (as it pertains to that particular question). I do like the abundance of questions and the performance based questions.

Meh...

The questions were of reasonable quality. Some were outdated. Quite a few misspellings or strange grammer.
Also it was lacking in the explanation department. Very little explanation why something is wrong or right.
Also for the money the number of questions is low about 300-400 total and no dynamic exams so once you complete the four exams you can only repeat.

The practical questions were nothing like the practical questions of the exam, which was my main motivation for buying. They weren't bad, just not as comprehensive or complex.

Going for security+ next and don't think I'll try CertBlaster again.

Hi Flemming, we are sorry you didn't like it! How did you do on the test? The CertBlaster Network+ you prepared with contains 517 questions. Some may seem outdated but that is the nature of most CompTIA Exams, they, by necessity "look in the rearview mirror". The current CompTIA Network+ N10-007 exam went live in 2018 and was developed in 2017. Now, because these exams are aimed at supporting existing networks some older content is necessary to reflect the network infrastructure support personnel faces in the work place which is rarely "the network of tomorrow"... Regarding the Security+ you may consider this feedback on trust pilot just a few weeks ago:" The questions were better than anything else I could find free online, and tremendously helped me with passing the Security+ on the first try. "

The multiple choice questions were…

The multiple choice questions were pretty close to the actual exam type information, though none of them were actually on the exam. I did find that the Action based questions on the CertBlaster site were substantially easier than those found on the actual exam.

Thank you for your feedback, it's all very appreciated. One note on "none of them were actually on the exam". That is by design as we are not allowed to give the exam away. What we do when selecting content , is to stick very closely to every CompTIA exam objective and sub-objective and calibrate the questions so as to make sure the topics covered on the exam are also covered in CertBlaster. That's how we try and help candidates prepare while keeping it all legal and ethical.

For testing for the CompTIA Network+

For testing for the CompTIA Network+, I had gone to ExamCompass, and also DionTraining.com. The DionTraining was excellent and had several sample exams similar to CertBlaster. IMO, CertBlaster had MUCH TOUGHER questions, but they all complemented each other. The ExamCompass had many tests focused in specific areas AND multiple topics. I needed as wide a gamut and not the same questions over and over. It helped me KNOW the material, not just memorize questions. I would recommend this (in addition to the other sources too) even though it was a higher price-tag. I didn't have time, nor the chance to have to do a retake.

CertBlaster is all you need to pass!

CertBlaster is a treasure I have found way back in 2018. It is amazing in terms of the exam preparation. The modules are super informative, contain up to date information, and the most impressive thing is you can work on practical part of the exams. The software is so easy to use and study. If your answer is wrong, there is a good explanation note right there to help you understand your mistake. I am also very pleased with my new experience to transition to a new CertBlaster website. My requests to update information and transfer my activation codes were answered super fast and all was done within minutes. I will continue using CertBlaster for all my tech needs. Highly recommended!

I used certblaster to pass the A+ certification. This platform performed exactly as advertised. I was fully prepared for the exam. I am currently preparing for The Network + exam. I fully expect the same result. Certblaster is highly recommended. My experience with customer was also outstanding.

Great review materials

The questions were better than anything else I could find free online, and tremendously helped me with passing the Security+ on the first try. The quality of questions were great and helped to identify a lot of areas I thought I knew, but really needed to study more. Would recommend to anyone taking the Security+ exam.

3 weeks of study and $149 down the drain

3 weeks of study, 95% and above on the tests...fail. CertBlaster does not prepare you for the kinds of questions asked on the A+ test. The practice exams had the same questions each time and weren't even scrambled to make it harder for you. The format was not a true representation of what you would see on the real exam either. Very disappointed in this product.
***Addition after Certblaster's response***
The criteria for getting your money back if you fail is a month of study with tests scores in the 90s. This means that the considerable time you are speaking of was about a week longer than I spent. Udemy courses were purchased first, then Certblaster. After the disappointing failure, Professor Messer's courses were purchased which made the difference and led me to pass the 1001. Studying for the 1002, now.
Please take this as constructive criticism so that you can offer a better product in the future. In being able to compare all 3, the notes were adequate but the test questions should have been more comprehensive and harder. Of the 3, I relied on Professor Messer first, then Udemy.
I really wanted to like your product, but in the end, it did not work for me.

Hi Jason, we are sorry you didn't like it. The individuals that are successful at the exam, using CertBlaster, spend considerable time digesting the content, developing a depth of understanding that allows them to comprehend the correlation between our content and the concepts addressed by the exam questions. As the authoritative GoCertify.com site stated “CertBlaster offers some of the more robust training packages out there and is ready to help you dial in on two of the more popular credentials available. The Network+ and Security+ credentials offered by CompTIA.”

Awesome Exam platform. Make you feel like you are taking an actual test.

It is very interactive practice platform. When you practice for test, you get to choose which section to take questions from and how many questions at a time and also TIME it. This being my first time every taking Certs exams on Security+. I was very nervous on the exam but seeing this and taking practice exams, I think I'll do just fine. I can't wait to sign up for the Network+ and others later on CertBlaster when I'm ready.

Customer Service is AWESOME!!! very fast on replying to any questions I had.

I took the A+ examination part 1

I took the A+ examination part 1, twice and scored a 650 both times I needed a 675 to pass. I have been studying on my own during the summer and attempted to pass the first part of the certification but fell short. School has started again and I do not want to be overwhelmed with school and A+. My plan is to review my original study material while focusing on my classes. After graduation God willing I will focus back on A+. I will say after using the cert blaster drills and exams I believe I will be more than prepared to retake the exam and hopefully pass it the next time I schedule. Thank you

Decent combined with other material

Covers a variety of topics that are mostly relevant to the exam. Some of it is outdated and I do NOT recommend this as the sole study material for the exam, but with videos and notes from teachers like Meyers or Dion it is helpful for passing the exam.

Thanks for the Feedback daniel and congratulations on passing the exam! The Security+ SY0-501 that you prepared for had its exam objectives developed four years ago (about a year before the objectives got published) and as is often the case with these certifications, they are a look in the rearview mirror (in this case a 4 year old mirror). It follows that the exam objectives will nclude items we today consider obsolete (CompTIA will only release new exam objectives in November, the SY0-601). Because our job is to stick religiously to the exam objectives in force now (and since 2017) we are bound to look into the same rearview mirror if we want to help candidates succeede at the exam.

Certblaster is one of the main reasons…

Certblaster is one of the main reasons I passed my exam. The course information was great, however, the price does not reflect on the value recieved in the study material. Udemy for instance offers 6 practice exams instead of CertBlasters 4 and it costs 15 dollars. More material at a price that's 85 dollars less means CertBlaster needs to be more fair to the customer.

Thank you for your feedback and congratulations! You don't say which exam you passed so the response regarding the fairness in pricing will be a bit generic but here goes: The number of Exam simulations is only part of the picture. We typically offer 4 exam sims PLUS 4 - 6 Exam Drills (depending on the number of CompTIA objectives). Additionally, we generally offer over 500 questions per single exam product which achieves the diversity of topics required to succeed at the exam. These data points are for single exam products. If you look at our A+ bundle (exams 1001 & 1002) it includes 8 Exams, 9 Exam Drills and 1,100 questions which is currently available at $149.00 on the site (so $75.00/exam).
