We were purchasing a house for the first time and were recommended Chadwick and Lawrence for our conveyancer needs from Tembo.
Chadwick and Lawrence were brilliant from start to finish, were extremely responsive to any questions we had along the way.
The only downside I would say is the app, it was never updated regularly and all messages were via email so I think they either need to remove the app service as there is not much benefit to it or utilise it more with regular updates.

In saying that, I would definitely recommend and I would happily deal with them again in the future.

Michelle Myers, Lauren Cowgill and Emma Cousins- Smith have all been wonderful. We honestly could not have asked for more. The way they all cover for each other, know exactly what’s going on, keep us informed at every step (usually before every step!), put up with our pestering emails when our stress levels are going through the roof, is nothing short of exceptional.
Usually, if a solicitor is away on annual leave, everything grinds to a sudden halt that adversely affects the timeline. But not in this case! The sense of teamwork between Michelle, Lauren and Emma is so palpable that the process continued seamlessly, again, something quite rare in our experience. Not once were we left worrying, our emails and telephone calls were ALWAYS answered the same day.

To say that Michelle, Lauren and Emma all go over and above the call of duty and stay in front in the fast-paced, demanding world of conveyancing is an understatement. They clearly love their work and are proud of the roles each holds. We have been so grateful for their encouragement and emotional support - something we have never experienced with our other six property sales and purchases over the years. Due to underhand time wasters, our sale took over a year to complete and almost made us feel ill at times. But the late Friday afternoon emails just to let us know that, although there was no new information to impart, everything was on track and so we could go into the weekend with no additional stress was so enormously appreciated. They didn’t have to do that, but they bothered. Their ‘botheredness’ is their USP! We can never thank them all enough.

Our son is putting his house on the market in January and has no hesitation in instructing Chadwick Lawrence and, in particular, Michelle, Lauren and Emma. We cannot recommend this firm highly enough. The practical (and emotional) service are remarkable.

These have got to be one of the worst conveyancing solicitors I have dealt with. They are ignoring calls and emails from their own client, they have changed the solicitor handling the case THREE times and have caused repeat work and significant delays throughout the process. They are now dragging their feet.

We had an extremely difficult purchase (and a fairly standard sale) in early 2026 and the team at Chadwick Lawrence could not have handled both better. They were totally professional at all times, explained everything in a clear way, and also had a bit of the human touch that is so important when things are getting stressful and time is tight. Emma and Michelle in particular were stars, and everything worked out in the end only through their hard work, experience, persistence, and care. We are so grateful and can't speak highly enough of them.

UPDATE (24/06/2026): The company has reached out following this review to update the status. As long as responses remain prompt and don't take weeks, I will gladly update the rating and text once we exchange contracts.

Instructed through SAM Conveyancing, and their lack of communication and complete lack of urgency have been appalling. The entire chain is fully ready to exchange contracts, but the transaction is completely stalled because Chadwick Lawrence is still stuck in the enquiries stage.

By January 2026, all of our searches, survey reports, contracts, and management packs were ready to go. Instead of moving the file forward, Chadwick Lawrence went completely radio silent for nearly three months, entirely ignoring chasing from both the estate agent and the seller’s solicitors until late April.

Every single round of enquiries takes them a month to action, even when the seller’s side responds within days. I sent an email asking for basic details on 05/06/2026, and more than two weeks later, I am still waiting for a response.

Their poor administrative proactiveness and failure to reply to clients or third parties have added months of unnecessary stress to this transaction. If you value communication, speed, and keeping your property chain together, absolutely look elsewhere.

Easy to deal with and prompt response to emails. A stress free transaction

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
Zero communication, turned a simple buy to let purchase into a absolute mess. No care or attention to my file, didnt even have the capacity to tell me my solicitor had left the company, didnt care or manage my mortgage deadlines which expired, couldn't even pass on my final search enquirys unitill 2 weeks before already extended mortgage final deadline, after 3 months of asking with Zero response. Caused me financial loss, by having to get 2 VALUATIONS, and after all this they offered me 150 pound discount which was a insult.

Nafeesa Javed and her team at Chadwick Lawrence handled my purchase of my new home with professionalism throughout. The transaction was more complex than a typical purchase, with my position as a sitting tenant buying from my landlord, a delayed completion, and significant new information about a neighbouring development emerging late in the process.
Nafeesa was patient with my questions, took time to explain options clearly, and gave me proper advice when difficult decisions needed to be made. When the original completion date slipped, the team worked to get a new date secured promptly, and the legal work was thorough and well documented.

Excellent service for two and half months leading to a successful completion today, at good cost too. Out Chadwick Lawrence team followed through with the house purchase speedily, searches and enquiries were thorough, and they always sent regular correspondence and set clear expectations on next steps. I am glad we had our purchase done through Chadwick Lawrence and would definitely recommend their services.

Worst conveyancing experience ever. Was given two separate conveyancers. One for sale and one for the purchase. The purchase conveyancer was A*, we had absolutely no issues with Nichola. She was lovely, prompt and polite. The issue lay with our selling conveyancer who was not prompt, unhelpful and sat on things for weeks. She also went on annual leave and didnt inform us in advance on one of the days we were looking to exchange contracts. There was no backup in place and the company refused to hand it over to another conveyancer. We raised a complaint with her team leader Vicky S who was just rude and a bully. Bearing in mind I was 8 months pregnant at the time, she laughed at me down the phone and pretended the line was bad to get me off the phone. She was then surprised when I lost my rag. No compassion in this woman whatsoever, absolutely heartless. A very stressful situation for me, made worse by a dismissive lady. The complaint was raised further to Sarah and she was threatening to throw our entire file out. The Company refused to then speak to me on the phone at all. I honestly would recommend you avoid this company and pay a little extra for some people who actually want to help you out and have a bit of humanity and morality. I definitely wont be using again.

Avoid them at all cost!!!!

What should have been a relatively straightforward process became a 7-month ordeal due to repeated delays, lack of communication, and poor case management. I regularly had to chase for updates, calls were never answered or returned, and important information was only provided after repeated follow ups. I had issues with fee transparency and lack of responsiveness at critical deadlines and escalation to management did not improve the situation. I have now submitted a formal complaint.

I would NOT recommend them. Pay a bit more to another solicitors instead.
