Large price discrepancies and unnecessary repair suggestions

I brought my 2003 Honda CR-V to Ben Nielsen’s Charles County Automotive for a general check. The free inspection was appreciated, but the repair recommendations that followed were concerning.

They quoted $214.13 for spark plugs alone, even though quality plugs for this car cost about $16 online. Even worse, they recommended replacing the rear wheel bearings for over $2,100. A second mechanic later confirmed there is nothing wrong with the wheel bearings.

The large price discrepancies and unnecessary repair suggestions seriously hurt my confidence in their estimates. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major work here.
