Landlords and Estate Agents: Proceed with Caution
I’ve used Chase Inventories services Ltd for many years and recommended them to other landlords based on their previous professionalism. Unfortunately, that standard has declined sharply.
In my most recent experience:
They used vague, subjective phrases like “small deduction” on the check-out report, which makes the report no longer unbiased or independent and opens landlords to disputes, as “small deduction” can mean anything.
This language creates ambiguity, invites tenant challenges, and puts landlords at financial risk during deposit disputes.
The report was delivered late and ultimately not usable for its intended legal purpose.
They cancelled a fully paid check-in at the last minute, leaving me without support at a critical moment.
Their handling of my formal complaint showed no accountability and ignored their own Terms & Conditions and published complaints process.
The experience has been deeply disappointing — not just in the poor service, but in their refusal to correct or take responsibility.
Daniel Evans, the Managing Director involved in my complaint, is also listed as a director of Home Inventories Ltd. If you're dealing with either brand, my experience suggests caution is warranted.
If you rely on accurate, neutral, legally defensible reports I would suggest look elsewhere.
There are far more professional and transparent inventory providers available.
Avoid.
