I rented textbooks for the Fall 2024…
I rented textbooks for the Fall 2024 semester, got them in the mail, no problem. Then I get an email two weeks before school starts that my books are due back to them! I contacted their "customer service" aka bot...and was told if I wanted to keep the books through the semester I would need to pay an additional fee to "extend" my rental. I finally got through to a person who apologized and said there was nothing they could do. When I asked for a refund I was told that wasn't possible either. So it was either, pay more for what I already had, or send them back and write it off as a loss. A total bait and switch scam. I've already packaged the books back and I can't say enough. Stay away. Total scam.
Change for the worse
I used to use Chegg to help with understanding questions, pulling similar questions and to better understand how different problems work, They have sense completely overhauled the website to be terrible, everything is AI, those answers are WRONG. You can no longer easily understand explanations, the site, app, and user interface is difficult and terrible. I hope they go back to when they had a useful and helpful website but I know that wont happen because that is a lot less profitable then the disgusting and gross methods they use now. Absolutely terrible. I am so disappointed in this company. With that I recommend Socratic as a free and useful replacement.
Chegg is a SCAM
Chegg is a SCAM
I was looking for a math problem, I paid and it wasn't a good answer, I canceled the subscription and they kept charging me every month and then they say that "their fees are non-refundable". The worst!
DO NOT GET A SUBSCRIPTION
DO NOT GET A SUBSCRIPTION. THEY MAKE IT SO HARD TO CANCEL. I GOT CHARGED FOR A WHOLE YEAR AFTER COLLEGE.
Don't use
Don't use. Our daughter used them for some school book rentals and she never received the books although UPS marked them as delivered. She opened an investigation with UPS who never got back with her and when they finally billed the credit card for the books not bring returned 5 months later and we called them. They wouldn't issue a refund since it was over 45 days since the books supposedly were delivered. Horrible customer service, do not use them!
Really bad experience
Really bad experience. too much running ad, service almost always "whoop something went wrong".
The site isn’t worth it anymore. Don’t be fooled!
The site used to be really good with math problems and explaining the steps used but now it’s just AI garbage. Practically every question is answered by AI and it’s almost always wrong, like 95% of the time. If it isn’t wrong then the answer will just be a speculative essay about how someone might go about answering the questions and won’t give the actual answer.
Also they’ve started to log you out after 10-15 minutes which is frustrating, especially if you’re trying to use their site to help make notes for a study guide. Seriously, you will constantly have to log in no matter what device you’re using. This issue just started happening to me a few months ago but I’ve seen reviews of people having this exact issue WAY before I experienced it.
Answers are mostly incorrect.
Do not use them they are a scam and…

I never requested content is horrible
I'm going to have to access customer…
I'm going to have to access customer service to cancel because the button "isn't working"
First of I signed up through easybib. To manage account I have to go through chegg. But being logged into one doesn't mean I'm logged into the other. So they're hoping you forget the login info because you used it as a trial on one paper and then when you go to cancel you can't get in. Then on chegg, website is hiding the subscription info. When you find it, the button to cancel says it can't process order. Then when it works, the cancel button on the "are you sure" screen doesn't work. I have video of this. Disgusting
Nice scam, scumbags
Over charging my account/ 18 charges in a month
After I canceled my subscription they still tried to charge my card like every few days. The past month they tried to charge my card 18 times. This is after I cancelled my subscription. Thank God I use a prepaid card for stuff like this, otherwise they would have got me for a lot of money. I finally got on the help chat and asked them to stop charging my card over and over. Then the person said….it looks like the subscription plan your email is associated with has been cancelled (yea so why anre you still trying to charge my card??) and then they gave me a refund for one of the months I did pay. Is this not like illegal for companies to do? Can they really charge you over and over and over? I was going to post pictures of my bank statement to show all the charges but I can’t post pics on here I guess.
Garbage
Garbage! Don't waste your money. I used it for a day, received mostly wrong answers (when I did get an answer) and had to wait entirely too long for it's AI model to give a theory on the subject that I was searching for. Something changed for the worse. Contacted the company and they will not refund my purchase. BUYER BEWARE.
I can’t say enough bad things about…
I can’t say enough bad things about this website!! Doesn’t even give the right answers, and I’ve been charged twice even after cancelling my subscription. It’s a scam!
I used Chegg and canceled it, but it continued to charge me
I used Chegg and canceled it, but Chegg doesn't ever email you about upcoming charges or subscription changes unless you resubscribe. My cancelation didn't go through properly and I was charged for MONTHS and didn't realize it until I saw a "payment authorization" email from PayPal itself.
Companies should not be able to have subscriptions that carry on indefinitely without notifying customers about charges.
STAY AWAY
1. Does not have a trial option.
2. Does not have 100% correct answers.
3. You will fail using their services.
4. They will not refund.
5. STAY AWAY.
Chegg is Scammer and Fraud
Chegg is Scammer and Fraud.
If you want to waste your money and get its subscription and it will empty your bank account no matter you have canceled its subscription or delete it.
Loved it before AI & hate it now
I used Chegg from 2016-2020, before the rise of AI. The site was a life saver. Real humans would answer the questions, and explain the answer step-by-step. I am in school again and using Chegg again. This is nothing like the site I used to use. Questions are answered by AI that usually misses what the question is asking entirely. The AI also can't understand pictures well at all. The AI is terrible and doesn't offer any value different from ChatGPT or even Google's AI.
They Do not have answers to simple…
They Do not have answers to simple problems. Foe Example : if you want to put a 4x 8 piece of plywood through a 3 foot square opening in your ceiling by turning it diagonally , is the opening big enough ? use a 45 , 45 , 90 trtiangle since it's a square
I was charged AFTER I cancelled their…
I was charged AFTER I cancelled their service. Then I was told by the supervisor that there was nothing he could do to stop the charges. Instead he offered a credit that will only apply AFTER the charge has been successful.
