Useless for professional filmmakers

Useless for professional filmmakers, but probably useful for beginners. Also, the attended companies are more interested in showing off than in finding someone who might be working for them. £23 is way overpriced for what they offer.

Awesome Folk and Info!

The lecture on Film Distribution was very informative and there were some bits I picked up on that I can take from it that will give me some hints.
Also, very nice and like-minded people that I met, and great conversations.

My favorite presenter

Justin Giddings offered us specific "takeaways" in a well-planned talk, organized in three overarching
"strategies", each illustrated with concrete examples. He spoke in complete sentences, slowly enough to be
clearly understood, and thankfully repeated key items of unfamiliar terminology. During Q&A he shared his personal crowdfunding experiences and was never vague with his examples.

Over all if was very helpful

Over all if was very helpful, but I thought that it could have been simplified, with specific information and some back up materials, hand out notes etc. It's clear that most of the presenters know their stuff. Presenting information is an art form, just like the movie business. Presenting what seems complex information without some notes, often loses the attendees. So better presentation skills, some back up notes, keep it simple, use actual real life situations to explain. It would also be a good idea that they break their time down and have pre defined sections, for instant, 3 by 17 minute presentations with a gap between for some questions.
Also a way of gaining information from the other attendees, including means of contact.
When you go to a live, in person conference, a lot of the benefit is the networking. One last comment is running from 5 to 10 is rather long, so you need to break it up.
So overall the experience was beneficial, and it was great to be involved.
So well done, keep them coming.

Excellent company

I have attended a number of events organised by Cine Circle and the value you get from them is fantastic. The crowd funding session was excellent as was the ‘getting your film funded ‘ conference. The guest speakers were top notch. The best part is everyone is willing to give their experience. Cine Circle really helps people look at the business side of their film as well as how to get potential funding in. Best sessions in the UK in my opinion.

Production Internship

I attended the Film and TV job fair hosted by Cinecircle at the end of February. There I had the chance to interview for several internship positions, including one with Candid Broads Productions. I interviewed with them further over the following weeks and, thanks to the kind support and sponsorship from Cinecircle, I am now working as a paid Production Intern. When it comes to this industry, it can be difficult to know where to start and how to get your foot in the door. Through Cinecircle, I was able to find a job that I love, in a team with an ethos that aligns with my own - female-led film. I have already learned so much from the team and feel much more confident that I can carve out a career path in the industry.

CineCircle Camera Trainee Internship

I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to work on a project with Diana Olifirova, in her camera team as a trainee. I had an informal interview at the CineCircle job fair and almost a month later, received an email saying I was selected to be part of the internship.

Initially the shoot was supposed to be for two weeks in Manchester. However, logistically and financially that wasn't an option due to me having to re-locate for the duration of the shoot. None-the-less, Anais at CandidBroads was very accommodating and keen to have me work with Diana, so they found another project for me to work on.

I spent 3 days working on a commercial shoot in London, 1 day pre-light and 2 days shooting. I got to know the 1st and 2nd AC very well, as well as introduce myself to as many other members of the crew as possible. I learned a lot from everyone, got to ask a lot of questions and get stuck in with the production.

As a way of networking and also gaining on set experience, this internship has been great for that. The invoice way paid promptly and despite running into overtime, I was paid for those hours at the pre-agreed rate.

Overall I would recommend people try out for this internship because it is a great way of getting involved in a larger scale production and learning the ropes.
