Deception in order to extort money
We drove into this multistorey car park and tried to get a ticket but the machine would not recognise our registration number so we decided to leave. We then got hit with a £100 Penalty Charge Notice saying that we had trespassed as it's a private land. I really think this company, Citipark and is running a scam because there are signs to the right that says it is a public car park pointing to the multistorey and arrow to the left that it is a private land. I don’t know of how we can be accused of trespassing. The signs are very misleading. This is clearly a trap to catch people out. They are demanding payment, turned out my appeal and saying that they are going to pass it on to a debt collection company without this matter going to court! I am a lawyer and never heard of this. A debt collection company would have to secure a CCJ to prove I owe them any money. DO NOT PARK AT THIS CAR PARK! These people are money grabbing, greedy with no shred of evidence. I will not pay purely because it is an injustice.
Leeds or any CitiPark car park never again
Parked last year in Leeds as part of work the situation was you park download CitiPark app and pay on exiting which I happily complied. Paid £10 for around 3 hours. Spin a year on I have court paperwork saying I have not paid for my parking, provided receipts of parking provided the confirmation on the app. Oh no they are still issuing into court for around £300. If I hadn’t paid I get it however this is robbery that is being trailed through legal routes. They made no attempt to communicate with me about it prior I am utterly disgusted and will never park on a Citi park car park again. I would literally rather cut off a limb. Tried contacting their legal representatives, tried sending a message on the CITIPARK app they are hell bent in taking peoples hard earned money with zero entitlement to it. Wonder how many defaults they have been awarded. Criminal all of it
Barrier Free entry is NOT a good system
Recently parked in Church Car Park in waford. Have parked there happily over the years with no issue. However in August they moved to barrier free access. So no ticket issued when you arrive.
Now when you leave you go to the machine and enter your reg number AND THE TIME you arrived (why - who remembers when they parked). Then you pay and drive out
Just recieved a PCN from BaySentry (owned by some of the same people who own CitiPark!). Said we had not paid. TBF when I contacted CitiPark they did provide the proof of payment.
However BaySentry rejected this as apparently had only paid for 1 hour when we had been parked from entry to exit for 1 hour 16 minutes!
I can only believe this is because we entered the incorrect arrival time. But why. Surely the APNR system knows when we arrived I should net to guess :(
Citiparks are a scam company
Received a letter from a company called Bay Sentry solutions demanding the type pay £100 free non-payment of a parking ticket at Dulcie Street in Manchester. I've been away on business so I missed the first letter so this was a final demand. I did not know what this was all about because I remember paying at the time. I don't go to Manchester very often and I am certainly not in the Habit of not paying for car parking. So I checked my bank statements and as expected on the date in question City parks debited the figure of £6.00 which corresponded with the time that I was alleged to have done a runner. I informed the debt collection agency of this but they insisted that I needed proof of my registration as in the form of a receipt. Who keeps car parking receipts for over two months? I am going to fight this but if there's anyone here that can tell me how question mark this is basically legalized theft. They must make millions a year on this scam. If it were possible to give this hideous organization zero stars I would do so. Please avoid at all costs.
Avoid. Pre-booking doesn’t guarantee a space
Avoid at all cost! Pre-pay in advance does NOT guarantee you a space at this location. I pre-booked and paid in advance, arrived at the location and there was no space to park anywhere. The carpark was over its capacity already, cars parked in yellow boxes and gang ways. I called the helpline who advised if there is no space they refund the fee. I applied for a refund (two days later still not received) but this may take up to 10 days. Luckily I had time to find an alternative carpark (Store St NCP - large and very reasonably priced).
The park experience was terrible
The park experience was terrible, we were advised to park on level 0 in Leeds Merrian centre by the staff and we could not find the level, there were no signs, people
Were saying you needed to use the lift to level 2 then you can walk but we could not access the lift due to the numbers of people, it took 20 minutes before we found the level - my mum is elderly and really struggled with the steps - why are there no clear signs for the correct levels ?
This company is outrageous
This company is outrageous. When I went to pay cash into the machines it would only accept one coin from a whole bunch of coins. The charge was only £2 but we were paying with loose change. The rest of the coins just went through the machine and out the return tray. After speaking to a complete moron who could only say 'card' after we pressed the help button we worked out he wanted us to use a credit card but we didn't have one on us.
The help desk refused to listen and kept disconnecting us, offering us no help.
To top it all the lift has not worked for weeks and for old people this is ridiculous as they have to negotiate many steps. I will get the bus to Watford next time, I don't care as I am not giving this company another penny.
Trouble getting into the carpark and leaving
Parked here in Watford Sutton car park on the 24 of Feb 2024 to say at the Leonardo hotel in Watford coming from Liverpool for the carabao cup final, booked on advance but the anpr didn't work and because it was semi underground I couldn't get a signal on my phone to scan the qr code , same going out it caused a backlog of cars behind me , i have used this car park before never an issue but this time it wasnt good , if the anpr can be sorted then all good .
Scam company
This is not a parking company, this is a scam. Don't go there, or else you will receive a £100 fine by mail even if you pay for the correct amount. I went to their Rickmansworth CityPark location and was forced to download their own application. After I paid for parking with their application for the amount they requested me to pay, the application did confirm that I had paid for the day (no hour limit). That should be it, but no, then I've received a threatening letter with a fine of £100. They have a pseudo internal "appeal" process but your appeal will be rejected even if you correctly paid for parking. A complete scam, avoid. Check other independent reviews on Google and elsewhere.
Technical issue on the machine
Technical issue on the machine, spoke to operator, I was let go and then received a ticket.
Quickly checked my notes on the phone and challenged them.
The people who don’t take notes or are not tech savvy fall for these traps.
Do business but with some ETHICS and VALUES… bunch of scammers.
Overcharged Exactly the same date as J Spence…
Exactly the same date as J Spence overcharged weekday rate for weekend.
Nobody at ticket machine or booth on way out. Rang and got told could not help but they were aware of the issue & staff on hand to help ? Emailed no reply. Still have proof of overcharging me.
Again the principle but if they do that to lots of ppl on sale day it adds up
Theiving Citipark
We parked at the Citipark in the Merrion Centre in Leeds on Saturday 28th October, as we've done many times before. All signs say weekend rate is £2 per hour, as does their website. On leaving, after 1 hour 53 minutes they charged me £6.50 (weekday rate) rather than the £4.00 it should have cost. On the 28th I contacted them via their webform - and got no response. On 31st I sent them an email - and got no response.
Today, 3rd November, I've raised a dispute via my card provider. It is on £2.50 but the principle of them ripping you off and not having the decency to respond means they certainly have earned their 1 star review in this instance.
Do not park here - dirty and daylight robbery
Do not park here! Unfortunately Google maps took me here as the parking for Waitrose.
The only signs from my drive in to where I parked were the ones telling you to either download the app or pay via card at a machine.
As an aside as you walk down the stairs it's disgusting, smelly and exceptionally dirty.
As I walked up towards Waitrose I saw they had their own car park, I realised the error, and turned back to go and move the car. I downloaded the app and went to check just in case there was anything to and it said £5 (for 12 minutes parking)! Thinking this was an error I submitted a request via the website. I then did another one as I thought I had better pay just in case but it errored. So I later on found a phone number. The guy was extremely abrupt and just told me to email (and that the grace period was 10 minutes). Had I just got in my car and not tried to be honest about everything, I would have been within said grace period. I did email and when they responded I was just told to pay it. No explanations.
I explained that there were absolutely no signs and according to their website's t&c's there should be. Eventually it got waived.
I scoured their website and there are absolutely no fees displayed anywhere there either - like they are trying to hide and it and extort money from people.
£60 for one and a half days on an…
£60 for one and a half days on an unprotected Leeds wasteland where my car was vandalised. The police could do nothing as no cctv protecting the site. No response from the CEO or his father. You will be ripped off and your car will be vulnerable. Further edit. Following on from this I received a parking fine from a company called BaySentry Solutions. I had, apparently, not been in a CitiPark car park at all despite following the entrance and exit signs and reading how to download the app to pay. Needless to say they arent interested and CitiPark has yet to respond to any of my emails. I also contacted Leeds City Council on the off chance that they might be interested in people being scammed in their city. Of course, no interest at all. Basically avoid Leeds, avoid CitiPark and avoid BaySentry solutions
AVOID!!!
AVOID! The car park in Cheltenham is not suitable for cars bigger than a mini! The ramps are very narrow and full of residual paint from car scratches. I'm a very good driver who has driven around the world and I got my car scratched in one of the ramps which completely ruined my day out.
There are similar bad reviews in other websites and no one seems to do anything about it!
AVOID at all costs
AVOID at all costs. Hideous company. Read all the awful reviews! They are terrible IMHO. Especially the dark, smelly, tiny spaces in their Paddington one. Stay at their much nicer competitors nearby on much nicer streets at the same price. April 2023 user. I felt robbed. The lower level smelt of someone smoking something very odd. 0% help with my complaints.
Parked in Ducie St next to Dakota…
Parked in Ducie St next to Dakota Hotel. Car window smashed and contents of boot stolen. Nothing on show visible in the car. Locals say this happens all the time. DO NOT LEAVE YOU CAR HERE OVERNIGHT!
Paid for parking - still got parking fine
Paid for parking but still got ticket. Fine is £100 or reduced to £60 if pay within 2 weeks or appeal. I appealed but was rejected and court action threatened. This car park is not like most in Manchester city centre where you can choose how many hours you pay and park for. They say you can use PaybyPhone app but this conveniently won't work with the parking code they give so then you have to download theirs. They then charge you a standard £4.00 fee but don't give any indication on the app you have to pay again when you leave if stayed longer than 2 hours. They have cameras filming when you arrive and leave and obviously catch a lot of people out this way. A guy paying next to me at same time did the same so will have also got a ticket so they must make a fortune. Car park is also just wasteland full of potholes - not safe or secure. will avoid in future.
CitiPark
CitiPark - Parked at Manchester, Ducie Street. Do not park here! Total scam and have been fined £200 with a potential CCJ, when it was impossible for me to pay for my parking even when I was very willing! My appeal was not listened to by Citi Park and complaint procedure was responded to very unprofessional and dismissive. Instructions to pay on entrance are not easy to follow. I intially paid on entry (then immediately realised this was an error due to our receipt), I attempted payment again, and the CitiPark app would not allow it- stating 'car park full'. I called the citipark phone line advertised on car park, no one answered. Impossible to pay.
