I will never buy a citizen watch again

I will never buy a citizen watch again
After my titanium watch strap broke (not on the pin part the fixed part ) I sent it to have it repaired under the guarantee to be told I would have to pay £108 to have it replaced and is not covered when I spoke to citizen it turns out they are one off those companies that the guarantee is not worth the paper it’s written on as they just say its ware and tear so if you plan on wearing the watch you will not be covered

SUPERIOR WATCHES AND GREAT SERVICE

I love Citizen watches they have the best technology with all there watches, Especially with the ECO-Drive. I have only brought Citizen watches, since I started wearing watches over 18 years ago and so has my father. Recently just got the new CZ smart watch, definitely recommend this watch over any other smart watches out there.

Guarantee is worthless, its just a matter of time!

Total letdown, watch had water ingress within warranty so sent to Citizen they told me the dial was damaged so warranty was void and quoted me more than the value of the watch for repair, I insisted the dial was not damaged and I would be leaving a review on Trustpilot but they told me Trustpilot was not a fair reflection on their service???
They said Trustpilot was unreliable, hence their rubbish reviews.
When the watch was returned, It was repaired locally for a reasonable fee and the repair service confirmed the seal on the watch had failed (should be covered by warranty) and the dial was not damaged.

Guarantee is worthless, its just a matter of time!

Citizen 5 year guarantee is not valid…

Citizen 5 year guarantee is not valid sent my watch in after the waterproof seal went and steamed up the pin also broke. Sent me a bill for £91. I would recommend nobody to buy one or if you do dont bother sending it in they always have a excuse why not to repair it under the warauntee. They should remove it. They only repair if the watch has a manufacturers fault or through normal use and not accidental damage. They said mine was accidental damage but they could say that on all aspects of the any damage you can never prove that either way. Painful. The person on the end of the call has the script already to tell you the good news. Dont buy

This is My third Citizen Eco Drive…

This is My third Citizen Eco Drive watch I've purchased over the past 20 years(Skyhawk Blue Angels). All 3 have been sent back to manufacturer for work and have cost me $100 to $400 to fix. Last watch out of warranty by 3 months and will cost me $350 to $550 to fix. It seems Citizen has mastered the production quality to run just beyond their warranty limit, as most production companies have. And made repairs costs to the point wear its more advantageous to throw product away and purchase new. Not too good for our environment, but great for their bottom line.

Too bad, as I really liked all my watches and functions. Being in aviation for 35 years, they used to be my favorite. Hopefully in the future they will improve their customer support as to help prevent this problem.

For this reason I would not repurchase or recommend any Citizen products.

Citizen Won't Service My Watch

Like many others here, I have noticed a change in the quality of Citizen service. In the past 4-5 years, I have had two positive experiences with Citizen's Torrance, CA service center. Most recently, however, I sent my titanium chronograph, caliber E-860, for service only to be told that replacement movements are no longer available. Obviously, companies cannot support their products forever - try to find a fender for a '76 Buick, for example. But this watch, my day-to-day favorite, is only about 9 years old. Watches, like most other products, naturally need service when they are older, not new. Needless to say, I am very disappointed and am not at all certain I will ever buy a Citizen watch again.

Watch fixed! I can recommend Citizen's Service Centre

Watch fixed!

My 10 year old Citizen (radio-controlled, perpetual calendar) was "faulty". The battery couldn't hold a charge due to years stored in a box. I sent it in to Citizen's UK service centre and they fixed it in very good time and sent it back to me via next day delivery once done, with a 12 month guarantee for their workmanship. Cannot fault it. I'm surprised the reviews are low, but my experience was smooth and easy. Prices seemed a bit steep, but you have the choice to accept/reject the quote. I'm just pleased my watch is back up and running and should be working for many, many years to come.

Does not do what it says on the tin

I received a Citizen AT 4006-06X e650 Perpetual Chrono Eco Drive for Christmas 2016. An extremely good looking watch regulated by receiving the radio time signal daily. Unfortunately the watch has been returned to the service department on four previous occasions ( April 2018, November 2018, August 2019, November 2019) with the same fault i.e. after receiving the time signal the watch displays an incorrect time varying between 20 and 75 minutes slow. The same error has just re-occurred and will be returned to the Service Department once more. If you are not too bothered what time it is this could be the watch for you.

Terrible service from citizen I sent a…

Terrible service from citizen I sent a watch for repair with details of my address on and they returned it unrepaired to a different town 20miles away so I had to collect. Now I have to go through the process again and my postage as they had also sent the price of the repair to the other address not me.

I have sent a watch for arepair and…

I have sent a watch for a repair and never imagine how they deal with the watch. They sent me the watch which bracelet with lots of pieces. And also they open the crown and never put back as it was. Instead put a cello tape to esembel it. When I see this, I could not beleive my eyes as how a repair center send a watch like this. Unfortunate thing is when I contact them, their response was also very unprofessional and only based on assumptions. Not bother to do any internal investigation. My advise is avoid them at all cost. For me it is look like repairers has no any skills to deal with watch repairs.

Avoid! Avoid!!!! Worst service ever!!!

Avoid!! Worst customer service in the history of time. Your staff needs more training, they sound completely lost. I spoke to someone who hardly spoke English and she sent my item to the wrong address. They don't even send you an email once you place the order or when they charge your card. If they would have sent me an email like every other company on the planet, I would have been able to see that they have the wrong address. Now my item was sent back to them and no apologies nothing. I spoke to an agent this morning about the issue and she acted like it was no big deal asking me questions about the tracking I don't work there maybe you should try tracking the package yourself!! This is your mistake! Take responsibility! At least apologize for Christ sakes! I was also charged a different amount than the agent said, once again if they sent an email with all the details this would help!! I'm so pissed! I will never in my life buy a citizen watch or anything from citizen ever again!!!!!!!!!!! You would think that a big company like citizen would be able to afford a better customer service team!! Train your staff they sound extremely lost!!! plus when u ask for French you get English and when u ask for English the person answers in French! Get it together!! McDonald's has better service than you!!!! Train your staff!

Bought a Citizen Aqualand Promaster…

Bought a Citizen Aqualand Promaster watch about 8 years ago after I got 25+ years from a previous model. I flogged the previous one in many, many dives and was super impressed with its reliability and performance. So, the old watch finally died and I decided to replace it with the latest model AND I got a discount on trading in my old one. Bargain! But NOT. The new model failed almost immediately, was repaired then failed a year later, repaired then some 3 years later it failed again. Super disappointing and I lost all interest in it, so finally got around to sending to Citizen for a repair, OK out of warranty but willing to fix it. However, they do not carry parts for a 10 year watch, WTH! They offered a 50% discount on a new watch, but why would I buy a new Citizen watch when they don't last now? Where is the value proposition for me? None. This is VERY poor support. Such a robust designed watch not having parts after only 10 years! Wrong. So, now I have a dead watch and $600 gone. Don't buy Citizen, they have dropped their quality and any real support of their product.

Warranty useless

I always had Citizen watches but will never buy a Citizen watch again. I returned a Citizen eco drive watch to the store as it had fogged up since some water splashed on it during garden work. This was just shy of the 5 years warranty expiry and I had proof of the purchsse.
Had never worn watch in the shower or during swimming. Citizen did not honour warranty and quoted $400 for repairs. Moreover on return of the watch the crown wheel no longer worked and was broken. Very disappointing experience after buying Citizen watches for more than 30 years. I used Citizen Dive watches for many many years. However after this experience Citizen lost a loyal customer.

Appalling Customer Service - AVOID

What a bunch of talentless overpriced disgracefully managed amateurs.

Sent my watch here for a battery replacement and after being delayed due to the recent coronavirus shutdown (no complaints about that at all) they ignored all my requests for a battery replacement and then without warning, they advised my watch was being returned to me because I hadn't told them what I wanted What spectacular ineptitude.

I then returned the watch to them again, and made it perfectly clear that I wanted the battery replaced. All I heard was silence. 3 chasing requests later and still only hearing nothing I have asked for my watch back.

After a quick Internet search and even accounting for 2 lots of postage I can get this replaced elsewhere for HALF Citizens price. Do not make the mistake I did by thinking returning my watch to them is the best thing to do. It is not worth the delay and complete lack of customer service.

Terrible service. Citizen eco drive purchased in October…

Citizen eco drive purchased in October 2019. Within a few months the face misted. Citizen are claiming watch has been emersed in water. This never happened, the only water is a splash when hand washing. Still they insist the guarantee does not cover what they term accidental damage. Basically it's defective and not worth spending your money on. Citizen are no help and shirk their responsibility. Avoid at all cost.

DO NOT BUY THEY ARE NOT HONEST

I bought my wife a an ecodrive watch whilst going on holidays on a Jet2 flight in october last year at £80 it seemed a really good buy.
The watch started to steam up on a regular basis, it was not immersed in water, owing to the covid limitations at the start of the year we were unable to send the watch to citizen for repair as it is still under guarentee, when we finally managed to send the watch for repair citizen gave us a quote for £67 to SERVICE the watch stating that the watch had been immersed in water and so not covered by the guarantee this is absolutely not true and I am disgusted that a top rated company would try and wriggle out of repairing a faulty watch, do not buy a citizen watch because I wont again.

For a large company Citizen might offer…

For a large company Citizen might offer the worst customer service I have ever seen. I ordered a watch for 350 dollars and I did not receive any shipping information. When I contacted the customer care team about this issue I did not receive a response. I tried calling their customer service number but they have nobody you can actually speak with. I then followed up with the customer care team again via email asking them why I have yet to receive a response 6 days after the purchase.

They then finally responded and sent me an email with an order cancellation confirmation with no reason or explanation as to why the order was canceled. I understand with the pandemic that is going on that things are a bit delayed but I also ordered a watch from Fossil and I had no such issues.

I would not recommend purchasing from Citizen at least until things clear up with the pandemic. For a big company they are clueless. I would recommend that Citizen hires more customer service reps or at least make it so that you can call and speak with an actual human.
