Wish we could leave a 0 star review

Wish we could leave a 0 star review. Stay clear of City Furniture. Their furniture quality is terrible. We purchased a Kevin Charles sofa set (over $5000.00) and within 2 months the cushions looked like it was a very old set. Filed a warranty claim, got charged $100.00 (for them to send out 2 different technicians) and even after their tech stated their was defect in all pieces and that the quality is the reason we were having these issues, they aren't going to give you a refund or option to exchange for something different.
Essentially you're out of luck. We wish we would have looked at all the terrible 1 star reviews as well as information on Kevin Charles (which is their brand). We never would have bought from CF. We also had to file a claim thru the BBB for City to even respond to our issues. Their sales practices are not above board. We have dealt with the Hollywood and Ft Lauderdale stores.

"team leader" letticia Rude Disrespectful Hatefilled Individual

Spoken twice to this individual with a chip on her shoulder the size of Mount Rushmore, if this is a "leader" city furniture has utterly failed she is rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, crass, unfriendly and ignorant aside from only being able to recite city furniture policies she is adept at alienating customers - first and foremost city furniture should review hiring practices; drivers sent to deliver and assemble items were promptly dropped and disappeared quickly without assembly (paid $100 for assembly) having to contact customer support is difficult at best as calls are handled elsewhere where they solidfy city furniture does not care once you have paid - rescheduled assembly for Saturday drivers drove in and promptly drove out - from delivery to lackluster 'leader' of customer service they need new employees "team leader" leticia clearly detests herself her job and customers who she is required to interact with; simply listen to her interactions with customers; if you happen to be transferred to her hang up she's clearly a hate-filled individual who will attempt to steal your joy with her nasty attitude - thank you for ensuring we will not ever purchase anything from city furniture - buyer beware - also NO response from corporate customer service for 3 days

Absolute Junk! Avoid at All Costs!

I cannot express how utterly disappointed I am with the Monroe bedroom set I purchased from City Furniture. It is hands down the worst piece of furniture I have ever had the misfortune of owning. Let me spare you the trouble and summarize my experience with this abomination of a nightstand.

First and foremost, the quality is shockingly garbage. After a minor spill of water that was immediately cleaned up, the top of the nightstand began to resemble a scene from a horror movie as it expanded and bubbled out, utterly ruining the entire surface. I couldn't believe my eyes! Furniture made of particle board that held up better to spills than this disgrace of a nightstand.

The material used is clearly subpar and not fit for purpose. It's as if they crafted this nightstand out of paper mache and coated it with tissue paper. I have never seen such a catastrophic failure in furniture construction.

And don't even get me started on the customer service. This is not my first issue with City Furniture they delivered me a used couch before this incident. When I reached out to City Furniture to express my grievances, they gave me a small gift certificate when what I need is this relaced. It's abundantly clear that they have no regard for customer satisfaction or quality assurance.

In conclusion, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this set. Save yourself the headache, the disappointment, and the sheer frustration of dealing with such a shoddy product. I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone.

Consider yourself warned: this nightstand is an absolute disgrace and a stain on the reputation of furniture craftsmanship. Shame on City Furniture for peddling such garbage to unsuspecting customers.

0 out of 5 stars – and that's being generous.

Do your research before buying

I had originally given a glowing recommendation for this company but now I know more and was disappointed in a few areas. They say they price match and they do if you find the item cheaper, but I paid for a 3 year warranty and I saw a 5 year warranty at the same price at another store and I paid almost double for delivery than that other store, Ashley's, they don't price match either of these charges. I should have done more research as I usually do but my Mother loved what she saw and wanted it then and there and since they price match I figured why not? I learned my lesson! Don't impulse buy like we did because you get buyer's remorse. The furniture is beautiful, no complaints about that, even though the mattress on the sofa bed is much firmer that the store sample. I learned my lesson

Hi RoseAnne, thank you for sharing your honest feedback—we know some time has passed, but we truly appreciate you taking the time to update your review. We’re glad to hear you’re happy with the furniture overall, though we’re sorry to learn parts of the experience didn’t meet expectations.

While we do price match on furniture, feedback like yours regarding delivery and protection plans is important and hasn’t come up in this way before—we’ll definitely share it with our team for consideration moving forward.

We appreciate your perspective and hope you’re still enjoying your purchase. If you ever decide to shop with us again, we’d love the opportunity to provide a better overall experience.

It is with great disappointment and…

It is with great disappointment and disgust that I address this communication to what is purported to be the upper tier of management at City Furniture. Frankly, the title is a misnomer, as your actions, or lack thereof, speak volumes about your incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction.

I find it necessary to disclose the email addresses provided below, as it seems that transparency is sorely lacking in your organization. However, I hold no illusions that your careless attitude will prompt any meaningful response or acknowledgment of the issues at hand. It is abundantly clear that you care less than zero about addressing your problems or showing any semblance of accountability.

I challenge City Furniture to enter into a legal battle with me to expose the complete and absolute wrongdoing that has transpired. Your disgraceful conduct reflects poorly not only on yourselves but on your families and the entire business you purport to represent.

Laura Hoehne, who masquerades as the CEO's assistant, is a prime example of the deception and falsehoods perpetuated by your organization. Her email address, along with those of Andrew Koenig, Keith Koenig, Christie P, and Jon G, are provided below for all to see.

Laura Hoehne - *
Andrew Koenig (CEO) -
Keith Koenig (CEO) -
Christie P (VP of Marketing) -
Jon G -
I encourage everyone who shares my outrage to flood these email addresses with messages expressing their discontent. Your reprehensible behavior will not go unnoticed, and I will stop at nothing to ensure that justice is served.

Shame on all of you for tarnishing the reputation of City Furniture and for your callous disregard for the well-being of your customers.

Sincerely,

We went 3 times to city furniture in Boca Raton looking for a bedroom set. Not once did an employee tell us about no return policy. One day after delivery we were not happy with the color, immediately went into the store and spoke to the manager. They said they would get back to us after speaking to the general manager. We were willing to pay restocking fee and delivery fee for a store credit. One week goes by and still no reply, sent an email, no reply, went into the store again and was told by the sales person our request was denied. Again not once were we told about NO RETURN POLICY. We went back to Havertys where we will only shop going forward.

Don't Be Another City Furniture Victim Statistic.

AWFUL! Run From this anti-customer-service business. Regardless of making and delivering a defective sofa, once you purchase anything, you're trapped. There is Zero incentive for City Furniture to have and enforce quality control and customer-focused service. None!

Here's what happened to me:
1) *The salesman pulled an unauthorized and unwanted soft credit check approving me for 8,000.00 with Synchrony Bank to purchase furniture. Feels Violating.
2). I purchased a sectional on a different credit card- that was delivered DEFECTIVE and confirmed by their technician as unrepairable and defective. I put in my complaint during the delivery and each day since. City Furniture refuses to credit back to my credit card, and offers only store credit, forcing me to continue to do unwanted business and spend money at a shady business with poor quality products and ZERO QUALITY CONTROL. The consumer has ZERO recourse. City Furniture has more complaints than any other furniture business when googled. BBB has many hundreds of similar complaints. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, HORRIBLE SOFAS, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Greedy, cheap, and shady. I received a sectional sofa with the sections made at different heights and gaps, and unable to align. RUN! *Don't be another City Furniture Victim Statistic Nightmare. This fiasco started the day of purchase on 4/7/24, the day of delivery 4/11/24, and continues.

I purchased two Identical recliners from city furniture in Ocoee about two years. I also purchased the extended warranty. The cost was $660 per Recliner. Well, about a year ago the back with the head lies on each recliner started tearing. At this point, I called city furniture customer service to report the defect on the recliners. They refused to fix the recliners or replace them even though I had an extended warranty . They did absolutely nothing but laugh at me. I am stuck with two piece of garbage recliners where the leather is tearing. What a waste of money do not do business with this company. Their furniture is garbage.

If I could give them 0 stars I would

Overall horrible experience with City Furniture. They delivered an obviously used bed which was supposed to go to their clearance center. Somehow the incompetent delivery drivers brought it to my house. Upon arrival it was apparent that they were a disaster, one was on the phone with his wife the whole time and the other made an huge mess in my living room which they didn’t even pick up. Although they did not have the correct equipment and my husband had to provide them with the tools, they rushed and assembled the bed, further damaging it even more and left without notice or even giving us time to inspect it. We immediately contacted customer service which useless! Never again will I purchase something from here.

follow up 4/29/24:
The fact that THEIR error has caused me and my husband to be sleeping on the floor, is completely unacceptable. Management should be embarrassed of how they have handled this situation because a "we will refund you your money in 7-10 business days" simply doesn't cut it. i've gone as far as emailing your "Customer Care Specialist" Kate, and even she, who is supposed to "Care" for customers has provided me with ZERO response. Genuinely, this has been a beyond disappointing and distroughting experience.

They Don't Honor Their Service Contracts - STAY AWAY

After furnishing an entire apartment at City Furniture, and being "sold" a warranty on the products I purchased, I filed a claim on a damaged table.

The technician came out to the house to inspect and left. I get an email that my claim is denied. When I asked why it was denied, I was told because there damage was not minor. I asked where the contract says what the damage should or shouldn't be.

There is no language, the service is a fraud, they do not honor the warranty contracts they sell and I suggest you do not do business with this company. They are thieves, and I will NEVER do business with them again.

The dining room table top was discolored and the finish was damaged by tomato sauce; in case you are interested, this is the language in the service contract I purchased:

WHAT IS NOT COVERED: We will not cover loss or damage caused by the following: (1) Abuse; (2) Any damage caused by pets; (3) Damage or odor as a result of moving or improper storage conditions; (4) Damage caused by fire, smoke, flood or other natural disaster, theft or vandalism; (5) Furniture that is used for commercial purposes; (6) Damage not reported within thirty (30) days of occurrence; (7) Products with removed or altered construction; (8) Clearance, floor model or “as is”; (9) Natural characteristics or markings on fabric, leather, wood and marble; (10) Normal wear; (11) Electronics are not covered; (12) This Agreement covers items on the original purchase only.

Shop somewhere else where they are honest people.

I was literally harassed by an employee…

I was literally harassed by an employee at the Plant City location on I-4. It was so bad that his manager witnessed the incident and called me later that evening. I spoke with the manager and told him it was fine. He asked if I wanted my order put thru and surprise when it showed up on my City Furniture credit card the next day. I told the employee and the manager not to put the order through and they did. It then took 9 days and a phone call for Synchrony to refund the charges which I missed out on 2 sales from. Then on top of it all, still trying to order the same furniture but online so I didn’t need to deal with these nasty people during Florida’s tax-free sale I tried to order again. This time the credit card wouldn’t go thru because they believed there was fraud on the account because of the charges that were all reversed. I called customer service today to inquire about a discount and was told they don’t deal with that and I need to go back to the store that harassed me. When given the option to go to the competitor I should have taken it….

Stay away from City Furniture and there preditory policies and empty sales promises. We purchased a home in Ft Lauderdale Fl in 202o and needed to furnish it so unfortunatly we ended up dealing with City Furniture. We were talked in to purchasing the extended buyer protection plan for about $750.00 and were told that if we did not use the entire plan within three years we would get a store credit for for the balance of the residual amount. After three years we expected our refund but were told that since we phoned in one time to have a white chair cusion stain corrected that we forfitted the entire amount of our $750.00

We purchased 2 twin beds with mattresses and box springs and 1 nightstand on 2/20/2024. When the delivery came on 3/9/2024 they brought only the mattresses and box springs. When we asked where the beds were the driver called the store and told us that the beds we ordered were discontinued. We asked that he take back the delivery and he told us he had no authorization to do that but someone would be back within 24 hrs. This was of course a lie. Zero customer service! They do not return phone calls and I finally made an in person visit. More lies! I finally reached out to the corporate office. Not much help there either. I finally made a report to the Better Business Bureau and informed my bank. This is being handled by my bank.. they have multiple enormous hidden fees they never tell you about. I’m not sure how they have stayed in business but I would recommend staying as far away as possible! We ended up at Baer Furniture and had a great experience.

I have a scenario I would like your…

I have a scenario I would like your comments on, please.

I entered a City Furniture store with researched info on 75” Televisions you carry and I was interested in purchasing right away.
The store did not have any stock of the TV’s I wanted and had no idea if or when they might have them. They showed me a different 75”, same brand, a bit of an up grade and of course a higher price.
Salesman said he would see what he could do for a better price and came back with a $100.00 reduction in price – this was the best price he cold give me. I purchased the TV and he delivered it to me later in the day (cost of $50.00). Salesman was nice and appeared to be knowledgeable.

Later I looked online (City Furniture) for some info about the TV and found the list price online (City Furniture here and surrounding places) was $100.00 less than what was posted on the TV in the store. I guess I should have returned home and researched this other TV, before driving back to the store.

Nice guy, he made it sound like he was giving me a deal, when in fact it was the price, the TV should have been. The reduced price wasn’t even a price match.

I find this to be sneaky, underhanded and dishonest! To jack up the posted price and then make it feel like they are giving you a deal when they take the extra cost off.
Shop locally they say – I say why when you can’t trust them and are overcharged.

Is this regular practice for City Furniture stores?
Do you feel this is right?

DONT EVER SHOP AT CITY FURNITURE

Bought over $2000 dollars worth of furniture for myself and then bought a piece of furniture for my daughter's kitchen the same week. When you are in the store the customer service is fantastic. They give you personal attention. Once you give them your money the service is horrible. They dont care about you. NEVER SHOT THERE. If you have any problems they will do very little to solve your problem. I had furniture delivered and one chair was broken. I had to go through a process texting with a bot and after significant investment of time got to talk to someone who did nothing for me. They finally said we can backorder and I have been waiting almost two months, I have heard nothing. Not one contact from City Furniture. They have not given me fair alternatives. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture company.
