I miss the days when Cnet was a solid…

I miss the days when Cnet was a solid go to for a broad spectrum of anything tech related whether it be car stereos, home stereos, computers, headphones or just any gadget. Those days are LONG gone. They've long since turned into a marketing agency giving good reviews to products you KNOW are bad, while completely ignoring the existence of ones you know are good. They're the best source of misinformation on tech since they passed consumer reports long ago. Pretty much anything from Apple is automatically the greatest gift to mankind. Any of their competent (or unbuyable) reviewers left long ago.

The new site is a complete abortion. There's no more search and you get only the latest shoved in your face in a horrible format that I can't imagine anyone finds enjoyable almost like the person that designed it was TRYING to divert traffic away. I haven't visited in a while but while shopping for a phone I came back across it and was shocked at how much bad can just get worse. You can't even download from their repository anymore without getting spyware attached to it meaning they're actively HURTING the tech community.

Our old friend Cnet is so long gone to corporate greed it's time to let it die.

Article about Duolingo app for language…

Article about Duolingo app for language learning. It was offensive belittling and just stupid. The writer said how he got turned into a monster by Duolingo. It was awful.
I thought it might have been a teenage girl that wrote it but I think it was a grown man.

Worst designed most unusable website…

Worst designed most unusable website ever, had to click off 5 pop ups before I could read anything. There are things you need to access at the bottom of the screen, but can't as it just popping up new articles. Then turned out the article wasn't related to the title, for a tech website, it was clearly aimed at non-tech people. Gave up and went elsehwere.

CNET = Doomscrolling
Search capability has been removed. I used to love the site but now I have to scroll endlessly to find or not find a review.

Agree with others

Agree with others, awful navigation and
“No Search Capability.” Site not organized at all!
CNET needs to look at other sites, and learn how to make it better for all! Seems to me, only good thing for them; they do not want to communicate with anyone
Online!

Navigation is awful; search nonexistent

Navigation of the site is difficult, with readers left to guess where things are. A search function would make things a lot easier. Without the ability to quickly find something, it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I used to rely on CNET for my gadget fix, but now I find it easier to use one of the other sites.

I am glad they still have review categories, but they are very broad, which means you have to select, select, select to find what you want. For example, if you want to find best Bluetooth earbuds, you have to go to "best products," select "all tech" from a scroll-down list of "tech," "home," "wellness," and "cars," where you have to select from another list. The lists do not appear on top, in a table, or in any other convenient format, so you have to scroll down (and down) through the various categories and pick one. Honestly, I never made it to best Bluetooth earbuds. I simply gave up and went to a different website.

I should be able to search for "best Bluetooth earbuds" and select from a results list. Without a search function, the website is all but unusable if you know what you are looking for. If you want to waste time, it is perfect, but if you are looking for something in particular, skip it.

Cnet is great

Cnet is great, I do not understand the negative reviews here. I think they are having technical issues, but this has been the best download site for ages.

CNET now useless - skip it.

Use to use CNET all the time, especially for reviews. The site is now useless. No search available - how do you find a review? Whoever did this does not want traffic.

CRITICALLY FLAWED

This site had been one of my personal favorites before it was overhauled with a miserable appearance, stark white theme, and NO SEARCH FUNCTION. Seriously, you review products and have no search capabilities. This is a seriously - critically - flawed site.

No “Search” Function

I haven’t used CNET in a while, so I’m not sure when it was acquired by another company. I used to be able to use “search” to find reviews of specific products. There no longer appears to be a search option (or it is well hidden). Therefore, I no longer find CNET useful.

I was adamant in my support of cnet and held them in highest regard as a friend of the people for downloads and product reviews until this morning when I went there to see if they had a review for some speakers I'm thinking about purchasing. There's nothing there and it no longer has a search available for their site. It's now a garbage site that's useless in my eyes.

A 120% useless post about duolingo

I was reading a post about duolingo by Mark Serrels, with the clickbait title "Duolingo turned me into a monster". This SOB wrote around 1500 disgustingly over-dramatised words about how much time did he spend, to stay on the top of his leage in the game. Oh my God, what a monster, what a bad boy, he didn't let other people to become first in the leage😱 If CNET employs writers like this idiot, I wish a huge bankrupt in the near future for this usless website.

CNET Promotes and Profits from SCAMMERS

CNET, a purportedly respectable tech review site, has promoted a scam Microsoft Office 2021 license in an article. CNET is linking to the scammers page and CNET is likely getting a kickback for any sales made to those who click the affiliate link.
This company at best is taking zero action to verify their sources, and it is very likely they are profiting from misleading their readers.

Worthless Reviews

used to respect the CNET brand. After reading one of theirs for a tool chest there is no way I will use their reviews again. The item got 39% 5 stars, 23% 1 and 10% 2 stars. This was the best value item they could find?? I think they are pumping out reviews and just making money off the people that buy through their links. Another once good company that has succumbed to a deadend business model.

Useless "tech" review panders to the dull-witted

The problem with their reviews (this one about the best VR headsets) is the complete LACK of specifics on the products. Vague, vacuous comments about "really sharp!" does NOTHING to let you know what things like RESOLUTION are without NUMBERS. I suspect these people are simply shills for whomever advertises on their site.

Cnet Recommends Dishonest Eahora Ebikes

Cnet has recommended, imho, a dishonest company Eahora ebikes. I say this because Eahora sold me a bike that Can Not Be Charged. I have been blown off by this company for 3 months trying to get a repair or replacement. The bike is under warranty. To date, Eahora has not honored their warranty. In fact, even trying to contact Eahora has been a nightmare. They are not listed as a registered company in California. They use a shell company in the UK. All the while this appears to be a Chinese company passing off defective merchandise.
Did Cnet do Any Research into Eahora? There are many complaints regarding Eahora. They are Easy To Find!
