Was with the Coop for many years for…

Was with the Coop for many years for car insurance previously. Didn't want to leave but the price was ramped up so high I had to. This is the ONLY fault I can find with them. They do put their prices up for returning customers which is a crying shame. I left because I just couldn't justify paying over 3 times as much as several other quotes from other reputable companies...

Gone back this year to check and its back down to a reasonable level again. Not the lowest but certainly highly competitive.

I hasten to add that the reason why I want to go back is that when I did have an accident (many years ago) they were absolutely superb. The person I drove into (yes, I was a numpty and it was my fault) made a point to come and thank me because they have never known such an easy and smooth service. From my point of view it was easy too. They were friendly, professional and just got it sorted, fast. My no claims wasn't affected in any way either. I had no issue with getting information regarding my no claims or details of the accident from them despite the fact I was leaving.

2nd year with Co-op home insurance

This is my second year with Co-operative home insurance. The price, terms and service has also been great with them.
I've just made my first claim through them. I dropped my phone, called them up at 12pm to make the claim, it was accepted and settled straight away meaning I was able to have my phone repaired the same day.
Couldn't be happier with the service.

Were great when we were burgled

I've just seen all the bad reviews and thought I should balance it up. 6 years ago we were burgled. Co-op were amazing and reimbursed us fairly and promptly. Everyone we spoke to was very pleasant.

AVOID - AVOID - AVOID

AVOID - AVOID took insurance with this company September last year. December someone drove into my car. Damages not worth repairing. As cover was comprehensive got a replacement car. Every single day in their car l would get a call reminding me l was driving their car pushing me to accept an offer when the engineer had not looked and given a quote. Finally when the engineer had looked at it was offered settlement which l accepted although it was way below the value of my car. After settlement received letter from Co op warning me not to discuss figures they had offered with the with the person who was at fault. My premiums went up after the incident even though l wasn't at fault. Now its due renewal found a reasonable quote from another company and called inform them l was renewing with them. Few days late my new insurer contact me to say Co op had contacted them with my previous insurance accusing me of being at fault on 3 occasions. All totally false information. Contacted Co op for explanation gave all sorts of excuses and apologies. Am online trying to access my insurance documents have been blocked by Co op to pass on to my new insurance. In trying to resolve all this have also they received a lot more from 3rd party for replacement of my car and only gave me a portion. Its been a night mare as l write have been on the phone past two hours trying to access revised copies of my insurance with them - no luck - looked likes l have been blocked. Asked for complaints department, unfortunately its not normal procedure, finally put through to Sath telling my l have to wait 10 more days to resolve. meanwhile all this is costing my earning plus wasting time.

Not even deserving of the one star…

Not even deserving of the one star unoptional to give, my car got written off due even with minor damage, refused to investigate lost all my evidence and took 2 years to settle a claim to which they agreed to a 50/50 as they couldn't be bothered fighting a claim, isn't that was insurance companies are suppose to do right? Lack of customer service skills and the services is appalling, going through the ombudsman as we speak Avoid at all costs

Appalling, I will make sure Everyone is aware of this company

Annoying Customer Experience!!

Fortunately I have not had to make a claim as yet, but even making changes to your documentation is a very frustrating experience. You are encouraged to do this on line, you enter your new details, put your payment details in - there is always a charge - and then the website says it is undergoing maintenance and you have to ring them anyway. Very, very annoying!!! And seems to be standard practice as it has done this to me twice now.

AVOID

I decided not to renew my policy with them
as even after 2 years no claims with them they quoted me £1.89 cheaper than the previous year. I'd obtained quotes for the same level of cover & they were almost exactly half the price coop quoted me. They store your card details & take payments when they want & even when I rang to ask what was going on I was told it was a direct debit payment gone out early. I'd cancelled the direct debit 7 months before & the fraud department at my bank told me it was a card payment NOT a direct debit. My bank have now had to block my card & I have to wait for a new one all because they decided to take an unauthorised payment. They refuse to refund the money they took & after alot of back & forth I've decided they just a bunch of fraudulent incompetent idiots & I will NEVER go with them again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT!

I posted earlier when I was trying to cancel the car policy I foolishly took out thinking the coop were an ethical choice.
After I cancelled within the 14 days allowed, they wrote later to say they were cancelling as I had not supplied NCD evidence - not true - they had lost it in their system. They then said they had it, but was not acceptable and are now taking me to debt collectors for £42 plus £50 cancellation charge. ( I then insured with LV who accepted the same NCD evidcence that Coop rejected and all was sorted and policy issued in 12 hours).
I have coop letters from 4 different addresses all saying different things and as a 'bonus' they woke me with a call at 5am (to be clear, not 5pm) to discuss the issue !
Don't touch them they are a shower. Sad but true

Surprise surprise same thing happened…

Surprise surprise same thing happened to me as other victims of coop. Poor customer service, play up with the claim they passed my case to a third party and with no vehicle after they collected the courtesy car. They under valued the damaged done my vehicle and expect me to add money from my pocket if I am buying a similar. Despite sending evidence of what they asked, still not going anywhere. How in earth, insurance companies can rip off money with policy holders. Very disgraceful, they said engineer will review the case, we policy holder we are not dump, engineers work in favour of insurance companies and policy holders. Please be mindful dear policy holders where u insure your car.

was renewing my policy on 03/07/18 and…

was renewing my policy on 03/07/18 and told the operative that I was now the main driver, not my wife. I was quoted an extra cost of £32.98. I tried to make the payment for the renewal but this took a long time and I had to break off the call because I had an appointment. (I had been on the phone for 35 min)
I called on the 7/7/18 to renew, the cost for the change of main driver had now gone up to £81.00. why did the cost increase by almost £50.00 in 4 days. Coop insurance couldn't tell me

Would not allow fitting of a dash camera or reversing camera

I phoned up to tell them I had fitted a dash cam (Nextbase) and a reversing camera. They immediately told me the policy was cancelled! Only when I said I would remove these items they allowed the policy to continue. They refused to give any reason Will not renew, as far as they are concerned safety aids do not matter. Do not use this company

Be aware! Worse company ever

First of all ... we bought policy one year ago. I said them about my accident ( i said that was my fault) and they give me quote... I paid for everything and after 14 days I recive a letter : ,,I must pay more because I had accident ... " Why I should do that Coop had all info whrn I made a quote??? I said about everything, and I was not able to cancell policy because letter arrived too late! They said if I would like to cancell I need to pay!

Second thing... do u like Ur windows tinted? New wheels or anything else ? Great this company never agree for even small sticker ! Only one modyfication is Dash cam ! Rubbish !!!!

Third absolutelly unbelievable thing is when u would like take Ur car aboard. U CAN'T DO IT, Or u need to pay extra, and is not insurance is just like permission! I had insurance with diffrent companies and we was always able to take our cars for 30 days aboArd without payinf extra.

And last thing ! I call yesterday. I would like to cancell policy cos finally we finished one year! I can't do it! They want speak with my husband. Is doesn't metter I'm policy holder and second driver asweel. Is a Joke!

Btw .....
Reneval with coop 1470£ with diffrent company 670. Silly ...with this company I wouldn't pay even 500 £ !!!! Whatever... I never back to Coop. Be aware guys!

worst insurance company

Charging cancellation charge , even before the policy starts as i had change of vehicle (before policy start date). They say this is as they have done "some work" to set up my policy. The new car quote was far to excessive.

Worst company - beware
