I accidentally signed up for a recurring insurance service that I didn't need. Once I realised their customer support removed it quickly, with no fuss.
Overall, the set-up for co-wheels is quite complicated - don't leave it till the day you need a car - but once you're in it's very straightforward to get a car.
I’ve just signed up with Co-Wheels and my experience has been heartening so far. Left my sunglasses in a car I borrowed and when I realised, two days later, Co-Wheels answered my call v promptly, unlocked the vehicle for me so I could retrieve them. Fellow users are also clearly super nice because the car had been borrowed since and no-one had taken my sunglasses. Worth noting that I switched to Co-Wheels from Enterprise Car Club because every time I hire a car with Enterprise (been a member for about 8 years) they try to sting me for tyre damage… they have done it to my partner too so it’s clearly some hack they think will score them a few extra quid but all it does is piss off loyal customers.
I have never dealt with a nicer company? Like ever! Every single one of these guys are great. They are super polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. I've never called / emailed and not had my query dealt with straight away.
When you use a car club company obviously things can go wrong, eg breakdowns, accidents when you're somewhere remote - its a great reassurance to know that a well managed and competent team is looking after you. Thanks again Co Wheels :)
Really enjoying using Co-wheels. Takes a little while to get used to how it all works but is making a big difference to our family.
Excellent simple way to hire a car. Car was great, almost brand new, and the car I booked was conveniently parked 10 mins away from my location to pickup. Used it for two separate weekend breaks away without any issue. Customer service also always available and excellent to help with any queries.
Remarkably quick and attentive every time.
Co-wheels turned out to be a great car share service for me to use when I had no other access to another vehicle.
Our experience began with some teething problems, collecting an electric car that had no charge whatsoever, which led to my infant daughter and I missing the beginning of a Nick Cope theatre performance that we booked the car for. This was unforgiveable as it completely ruined our morning, we missed the start of the show so the rest of it made no sense although we still loved seeing the performance, it was very embarrassing to be late and a little soul destroying. I also had to navigate using a fast charger having never used an electric vehicle before, I was charged three times in error by the fast charging post, however I was refunded for the fast charge by co wheels.
I had a few problems gaining access with the app and card and had to ring up to get help from the team to remotely lock and unlock the car, which was done fairly quickly however we had to wait in the rain to get through to the team on the phone.
Fast forward to another booking, I received a phone call to say the vehicle I had booked had not been returned! Thank goodness there was another one nearby (not fully charged again though!). Although I appreciate this was not the fault of co-wheels , I do hope that they do more to prevent people leaving vehicles with zero charge or not returning vehicles at all!
We booked another hybrid vehicle in another area for a bigger trip, which was much easier to deal with, although it was much smaller than the electric MG, it was fit for purpose. I was actually 10mins late returning this vehicle due to having to stop for my daughter and I to use the services. The team at co wheels were understanding and helpful when I notified them of the late arrival.
I began to really enjoy using the car share and appreciate the service. Every human that I spoke with was kind, patient and efficient. I once made an accidental booking somehow and didn't receive any notification about it the day before so was charged for an accidental booking, but the team helped me out as it was an obvious mistake. It would be helpful for co-wheels to send out a reminder email and text about a booking the day or few days before.
I will definitely use the car share service again in the future if I need to.
***I was once sent an email to ask if I had removed some random part from the vehicle! This actually made me quite sick with worry as I felt like I had been framed for a crime of some sort 🙃 I understand that they have a policy but it was such a random thing that they asked had I removed, I'm a small woman with a toddler and I did all the necessary checks that I needed to do before and after use. I advise that you video your collection and drop off checks and send to co-wheels if you're a worrier like me 😆
Terrible customer service, no apologising for supplying us with a sub-standard car, that wasn't fit for purpose over the Christmas period. Turned what is normally a easy trip into a cold, nightmare - having to make frequent stops to try and charge up the car for a 50 mile journey which ended up taking nearly 5 hours! They still have not fully refunded me, and have not apologised. I would avoid using this company at all costs.

I have used Co Wheels for 4-5 years. There can be issues with the cars, but that is to be expected given the large network of them in my city. What makes Co Wheels great is that you can quickly navigate or solve any issues you come up against by talking to their extremely helpful staff. Their out of office hours service is extremely welcome.

I have been a member for over three years. The team are excellent and are always able to answer my questions. The service is excellent, a great way to run errands without the cost of running a while car.
I have been a Co-Wheels member for several years, and have used their cars mainly in Lewes, but also in Tunbridge Wells. On the odd occasion when a car has not been clean, I have contacted the customer service team who have been speedily responsive. When I had an issue with the app unlocking - which was actually to do with my incompetence, the customer service team again were fabulous and quickly sorted it. This is a great company, offering a useful service at a good price.
I am a disabled user of Co-Wheels, apparently they're accusing me of leaving a window down and they think that's a perfectly acceptable excuse to ban me for life, they have been horrible and predatory, just disgusting genuinely.

Shame, because it's actually a really great service and I had no issues previously, just really amazing.

The customer service of co-wheels is, simply, the most effective, quick and friendly of any service provider I deal with. Without exception, every single time they resolve my queries or problems straight away.
Always helpful staff, quick responses, polite customer service. If there is a problem, like the other night someone before me left the vehicle unlocked and something on which left the battery flat, they very quickly sorted another car for me and dealt with it quickly.
I have been a member of Co Wheels and am amazed at the ease of booking a car only when needed. Been using the service for over a year and it has been remarkable. Highly recommend the service.
Went to book a car yesterday and asked to do an annual license recheck. Logged on to DVLA to get a share code and emailed this to Co-Wheels. Received a reply late last night around 1am (I believe there is a night time team who deal with emails) to say share code not working. Got another share code today and have emailed - also phoned but told need to wait for the night team to respond tonight. Bit annoying as trying to book a car for tomorrow. Otherwise, really handy service to book a car, prior to this license recheck process.

Nothing but praise for this company and particularly the excellent customer service it provides. The cars are always clean and in good condition. I've used them for a couple of years and find it a convenient and cost effective alternative to owning a car in an inner city area. Staff are responsive, clear and friendly, never minding answering simple questions and available 24/7. Thank you!

I’ve been using Co Wheels for over a couple months now and have had a pleasant experience up until recently.
The car I hired had engine issues throughout the day, which were initially resolved via a call to the help team. Later that evening, another breakdown occurred, and I had to wait three hours at the roadside for recovery to the local Kwik Fit. I was told the issue would be dealt with from there.
Two days later, I received a phone call asking me to drive the vehicle back to its parking bay. I explained that I was not in the city and therefore would not be able to do that, and probably wouldn't have said yes either way.
This was not the level of customer service I expected, especially as I was told, “That’s what I hoped you wouldn’t say,” on the phone call. The vehicle breaking down is not my fault, and it had already caused significant issues throughout the day. Given that I was provided with a car that wasn't fit for purpose and never got to my destination with no refund in sight, I would encourage you to review it to ensure a better service experience for your customers.
