Spammed by businesses on my personal mobile

Similar to other reviewers, I’m also being spammed by businesses on my personal number, something I never opted in to or shared for use. Submitted a request to delete my data so let’s hope it’s removed promptly. Does open up the question on data integrity though.

Great!

Great data quality including direct numbers and mobile numbers for a lot of contacts. The platform itself is easy to use with some great features to enable niche targeting. A lot of the numbers are verified by their team which is a bonus.

The Best Sales Enablement Tool

Cognism is a technically advanced prospecting tool for salespeople. They take data from multiple publicly-available sources and create a database of individuals based on their current role and company.

I use Cognism regularly to help build target account lists for my sales activity. It allows me to find businesses that are at the early stages of the buying journey and then niche down to find the decision makers within that business and obtain contact information for them. It saves me a huge amount of time by identifying the best prospects and giving me the information I need to reach out to them.

Sold my personal details without permission

They somehow acquired my personal mobile number that I've never used for work, then sold it on to third party companies. I tried to call them on their advertised number from google but it doesn't connect... obviously they don't want anyone calling them!! I've filled out their form to remove myself but the damage has already been done and I'm getting hounded by sales calls that I have definitely never opted into. Reported to ICO.

Terrible end user experience

This company somehow acquired my personal mobile number and is selling it out to vendors to use. This is not something that I opted in for and likely in violation of regulation. This means a bad customer experience for end users (for other businesses thinking about using - this means I will not be using their services) and a going concern risk if they do get investigated.

Obtaining private data in unknown manner and then sharing it to 3rd parties. Result - receiving cold sales calls on a private phone number. Businesses should carefully evaluate the egitimacy of this company and its practices.

Fantastic experience and support from the Cognism Team with initial setup and with ongoing training.
