Bought a Monte Verde fountain pen for $91. VERY disappointed. Took over 24 hours to get the nib moist enough to write and then it started leaking into the cap. Each time I take the cap off I have to swab in inside with a cotton tipped swab to get the wet ink out or it will get on the barrel of the pen and then onto my hand. They offered to replace it if I first shipped the defective pen back. This is not a 'quality' pen and I will not be shopping here again. IF I had paid very little for this pen I would have not been surprised but at almost $100 I expected not just a better pen, but better customer service.

Never again

Shipping very slow (I'll grant that the website said it would be a while, but if you don't have it in stock - just say so).

Ordered two pens. BOTH dry out within 24 hours of loading them. I sent a note... No response. I added reviews to their webpages... never added.

Crappy service. They took over $100 of my money, sent defective products, and now are ghosting me. Apparently they feel that they can just treat people like crap.

Dishonorable Crooks

Returned pen for reimbursement, following voice instruction and return policy instruction on website. Colorado failed to reimburse claiming non-receipt, stating package was sent to their old business address, despite it being the only address identified for return shipment. Avoid for this and poor customer engagement. Competing pen e-retailers, (GoldSpot Pens) has a broader inventory, with equal or better pricing.

Bob Melvin, the owner, is a fraudster

The owner of the business Bob Melvin is disgusting. Does not care about customer service. He advertises pens he does not have and when you ask where the delivery is or why it is late, he accuses one of bullying his customer service people.

I'm still waiting for an order I placed on August 28. The first time I contacted customer service - an oxymoron for this company - I received a rude response. Not wanting to lose my money I back peddled my anger and "made nice." Mid October I emailed them again to request the status of the order. There go to response is "supply chain" issues. If and when I ever get this order - it will be the last time I do business with them. Advice: run - don't walk - away from this seller.

Bad customer service

I ordered a product listed as in stock. After placing the order, I was informed they were out of stock and would ship when it was in stock again in 10 days. 12 days later it shipped and when I received it, I got a roller pen instead of a fountain pen. I called to ask them to send the right product with overnight shipping as I had already waited long enough and this was meant to be a gift I was told no, they wouldn't be doing that as it's too expensive. I told them that they should eat the cost because they were not upfront about their stock and then sent the wrong product, so this is all their fault. Again, they didn't even escalate it to see, he just told me no, it wasn't going to happen. He did agree to ship the correct product and then promptly hung up on me without any goodbye.

Pen was defective

Pen was defective, customer service person had a bad attitude, told me there was nothing wrong with it, without even seeing it. Had to return it at my expense, would not deal with this company again.

Reply from Colorado Pen

Mr. Correa - Our CSR told you the tip pushing in on your Pen Cover is normal for that product and informed you that we would refund you for the purchase if you sent it back. The Pen Covers can take 5 different types of inserts, as a result a fair amount of play happens with some inserts. You demanded another one be sent out or you would dispute the charge for the order. When that demand was turned down, you then switched to you would send the entire order back and leaving a bad review for us if we did not send you a return label for the item. Our displayed Return Policy states that returns must be paid by the customer. Our CSR followed our policy as the problem you have with the product (pen cover) is a normal function of the item not a defect. Additionally, you didn't pay any shipping to receive the items as it was sent under our Free Shipping for orders over $85. It is regretful we were unable to come to a better accord before you hung up.

Poor quality engraving and rude service

I have ordered several pens, mostly engraved from Colorado Pen. All have been in the >$200 range, so my expectations have been high. The last order, a pen by American Pen Company came on a small, cheap, wooden board instead of a case. The most recent, an engraved Pelican Pen, came several weeks after I ordered it and I was disappointed in the engraving. There was gold paint outside the letters on the pen, which I was able to rub off. However, two of the letters didn't have enough gold in them, making the quality cheap in appearance (cost of the pen over $250). When I emailed them, I received an email in return from Billi Jean saying that the engraving was permanent and long-lasting. When I inquired again about the poor engraving in two of the letters, I received a very rude email from the same person: "Sir, as I mentioned, this is thew best engraving we can do). Not the response I was looking for, given the cost of the pen and my expectations. Won't be ordering from them again, as it is clear that their idea of quality is different than mine.

I received a credit but ..... not really

My order ( placed on 27 April 2018 ) was slow so, on 7 May 2018, I called to cancel. I actually bought another pen locally. I received a nice email reply indicating that my order was cancelled and my visa card credited. Only my visa card was never credited!!!! Today, 31 May 2018, I called VISA to make sure I hadn't misinterpreted my charges/credits. I had not misunderstood the facts. They had not applied for a credit to my account. I was furious and when I spoke with Cheryl their Accounting Person, she took all the credit for tracking down the situation. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS .... SHE DIDN'T DO ANY TRACKING UNTIL I CALLED TO REQUEST MORE INFORMATION. Cheryl acted like I was ganging up on her when in reality ..... if she truly did work in accounting, she would have recognized her OUT OF BALANCE situation long before today. Very unhappy with this Company and I have shared my concerns with VISA as well.
