Look else where!

Some of the tradesmen were skilled, but others could only be described as bodge artists. Complaining got no where. They are very difficult to contact and talk to

I had a porch fitted a very large porch. The brickwork base is excellent as it is a subcontractor that does the brickwork, but I had to call them twice because of leakage, and I COULD NOT get anyone on the phone until I mentioned trading standards. I also had a composite door fitted cost lot of money, which also needs attention now as it is under ten year. Apparently the door is not there responsibility only the fitting, and I do not know where where there doors come from so I am stuck

IGNORE THIS REVIEW AT YOUR PERIL

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!. Ive had problems with them during the construction and since. The erection left much to be desired with worse to come. It is impossible to get them to answer the phone. Ive tried both Diss and Wymondham and all I get are messages to call back or leave a message (that never gets a reply). The last time I had a problem, I threatened to go to the office and have a confrontation. That seemed to do the trick.
Looking at other reviews, I consider myself fortunate that Ive got a conservatory. But oh how I wish and checked up on them in the first place!!!!!!

DO NOT USE!!

Gary the salesman came and wrote a quote up on the 8th January, we paid nearly £2000 deposit a few days later, said they would start work March time, no problems.

In between this time we had found out the reviews of this BOGUS company and had found out it had gone into liquidation for the FORTH time!!! Changing the name each time. (according to John though he has only changed this once Conservatories ETC to Norfolk Orangeries which is there latest name)

Managed to get some feedback from previous customers and they are all saying the same thing. Half built conservatories and no intention to finish them, just excuse after excuse.

So we didn't want them starting work, however Hugo rang us to say Paul would be over Tuesday the 19th March, carried on playing his game and said yep that's fine! However Paul didn't turn up (no surprise) so I said enough is enough and went up there to confront these rouge traders.

Both John and Hugo sat in the office and I went in there and said how disgusted I was that they are doing this to people, John said he isn't doing anything bad and doesn't do anything intentionally, so feeding us with how great the company is, taking deposits and have no intention of finishing work is ok to do is it? He also went to say he didn't know why Paul hadn't come to start work ( I later found out its because John hadn't paid Paul for the work)
So bit concerning he didn't know where his builder was.

Anyway I demanded ALL of my deposit back and said how I didn't want them touching my house.

Within an hour and half my FULL deposit was back in my account.

So for people who are still owed money please go up there and confront this awful man!! He cannot carry on doing this and must be stopped!!!

Do not use!

Do not use!! We paid our deposit in Oct and it’s now March and we still have no conservatory. We’re not the first and won’t be the last! The owner and employee should be locked up for fraud instead of being allowed to keep steeling peoples money! Just been informed they’re now trading in a different name so won’t get our money back or conservatory. They give lie after lie or just don’t bother to contact us / answer calls/text/emails. Avoid at all costs!

Although we eventually got our money back by going to the office I would not recommend them. They caused a lot of unwanted stress and now will be causing more stress to more families because of being allowed to trade under Norfolk orangies.

They also wrongly advertise saying they have HIP insurance and FENSA this is not the case as all.

Please please just avoid this company altogether there are far more trusting companies out there.

I am taking this awful company to the…

I am taking this awful company to the Small Claims Court at present, they owe me over £5000 for a non existant conservatory.. They will lie about everything and the Company is in a special arrangement with the tax man, who are allowing them still to trade - this has been in place since August 2018. It is now March 2019 and I paid them last May so this is fraud - the Police are aware - they will give you cheques that bounce. Dont touch them if you value your sanity.

The owner of this company is a crook who trading standards have been after for years, he has managed to avoid prosecution by changing the company name several times. Please avoid using this company s you will be extremely disspointerd with your end product and service, you will not receive certificate of completion therefore making your purchase worthless.

Have a lovely conservatory/garden room…

Have a lovely conservatory/garden room now. Product is extremely good quality but had to project manage myself. If I wasn't at home on sick leave I don't know what would have happened. I had to project manage making telephone calls and sending emails to get the next stage of the work completed. The workmen were second to none, very tidy and extremely proficient. Jon and Hugo, though do not have any organisational skills whatsoever and come up with an array of excuses each time a tradesman was supposed to arrive. From start to finish took approximately 3 and half months to complete but the end product is amazing. Although we had problems with continuity of workflow, we are extremely happy with the end product and our final balance was adjusted to reflect the problems we incurred.

If you value your sanity DO NOT use this Conservatory company!

Firstly, I can confirm I am a genuine customer not a disgruntled ex-employee or someone with a grudge against the company!

My journey with Conservatories etc began in June with salesman Gary who is a fantastic salesman. Helpful and informative without being pushy or pressurising, he is a really good representative of the firm but unfortunately does not have the support of a professional team behind him. I had had a number of quotes but Gary helped me make the decision to use Conservatories etc for the installation of my conservatory – big mistake!

The dates for the installation were Monday 13th August for the initial brickwork and Monday 20th August for the actual installation, these dates were confirmed by email. I had a holiday booked for Monday 27th August but the company said this was not a problem the conservatory would be finished well before that date.

It is impossible to give a complete account of what actually happened to me during August, the story is just too long for this forum. However, the work did not start on the 13th and things became a nightmare from then. Endless phone calls to the office which were not answered, when I did get a reply, promised return calls did not happen. There were endless feeble excuses which most of which proved to be untrue, I had four new start dates for the work which did not happen. It came to a point when I could not get a reply from any telephone numbers so my partner had to leave work and drive me to the office to try and find out what was happening. An employee managed to get Jon on the phone where upon he was aggressive and rude which left me feeling intimidated and anxious to call again.

Work finally started on 24th August by which time I had been forced to cancel my holiday losing the money for that! The final straw was when the builder, again another fantastic worker but interestingly not employed by Conservatories etc, was unable to buy materials at the suppliers unless there was a card payment made by Jon over the phone. Surprise, surprise he was unable to get Jon on the phone to make that payment! and also very strange that there is no trade account for this company! By this time I was so desperate I offered to pay for the bricks etc myself just to get work under way! But when I found out that two previous customers who had had brickwork done but were still waiting for their conservatories to arrive and had not even been ordered, I became even more alarmed and called a halt to the work at my house. I demanded a refund of my deposit which took another visit to the office and a day of endless phone calls and a further visit to the office to obtain a bank transfer– I clearly was not going to accept a cheque!

So on Saturday 1st September I am looking out of my lounge window to see that my beautiful garden looks like a bomb site; I feel an emotional wreck and completely drained! I have no conservatory, I have had no holiday and I now have to pay someone to reassemble the garden. There was talk of Conservatories etc doing this for me but that just adds insult to injury and once again surprise surprise, no phone call to arrange this!

Use this company at your peril!! This and the previous negative reviews are all correct! Shaun of the 16th August review was a very very lucky person!

Hopeless, avoid at all costs.

Sadly I cannot improve the rating for this company. I ordered windows. Months later they still hadn't arrived. Although I have now received a full refund, do not put yourself through the aggravation and stress. This company has issues, I don't know what's going on but they fob you off and make excuses. Oh and don't listen to Jon when he tells you that all these reviews are written by disgruntled ex employees. I was a genuine customer! Avoid this company and go elsewhere!

Aviod stress... aviod this firm

Got of to a great start. Sadly this swifty didn't continue.

We have had various "small" problems with the company and our conservatory. Despite numberous emails and telephone call and lots of empty promises, our concerns still remain unresolved over a year since we had our conservatory build.

Quite simply aviod this company.

Avoid this company all all cost!

Avoid this company all all cost!
We ordered French doors 6 weeks ago, booked in to be fitted in September. I took the day off but no fitters or doors arrived. Rescheduled for today but showed up 2 hours late, with a door too short and too narrow and a clueless fitter.
This company knew we had plasterers booked to follow the job on but this is not a company that cares.
Job cancelled.
Don't touch them!

Be very aware of how you choose a conservatory company

Be very aware of how you choose a company - we failed to do a background 'google' search on this one and wish we had.
We chose them as they were in our county, and their showroom wasn't a huge distance, and seemed to offer what we were looking for.

The company is badly managed by Jon, who has no grasp of where his staff are, or what they are doing, and fails to ensure they have documentation which stays with the project to ensure that the design as agreed with the salesman is actually delivered in full.

Installation of our conservatory was by one chap, with no follow up inspection to view his obvious installation of damaged goods (whether in transit or during installation). It came down to us having demanded an independent inspection before the recommended repairs were completed, and appropriate hinges fitted to the large windows.

If you can wait in for workmen to arrive, or not arrive, for a 6 week job to take 5 months, be on their case every week, to do your own project management to ensure each step is completed - then this is the company to choose.

The conservatory we have is lovely - but I would never have chosen this shoddy set up to build it in hindsight. The excuses were repetitive - '... has disappeared off the face of the earth', 'can't seem to locate the electrician'... you get the picture.

We grudgingly released final payment after the independent inspector completed the work to our satisfaction (not the first time he said, that he'd had to do such), some 6 months down the line. But - a year on, and we still have no Part P certificate for our electrical work. We shall have to pay to have an independent safety assessment, and take it on the chin as a lesson learnt.

So, after our extremely long story cut short - if you are considering a conservatory, keep looking.

Be really cautious with this company

Be really cautious with this company. They signed a contract with us in Jan 2017 for delivery at the end of April 2017. From mid-April to August we were promised delivery pretty much every Monday or Thursday “100% certain” by their managing director. A bunch of very suspicious excuses were used like ‘we subcontracted the job and don’t have the subcontractors details so you can’t ring them”, "the roof was made to the wrong size”, “the haulage company won’t deliver”, “ the joiner has fallen out with his business partner" etc. Communication was terrible, inconsisent and frankly utterly unbelievable. We’ve since been told that their sales tactics are to offer lower prices and take on more jobs than they can handle... and in our case they held our deposit for 7 months to bolster their cashflow. Please feel free to contact us with questions. Avoid this company at all costs!

Conservatories etc - awful customer service !

On 2nd March 2017 I agreed a contract with the Conservatories etc sales person for a replacement Guardian Warm Roof for my existing conservatory, which included ‘Fitting a decorative fascia inside’ in writing. The sales person wrote this detail on the contract, he signed the contract and dated it and so did I.

On 5th May I called Conservatories etc to confirm they would commence installation on the agreed 8th May. Apparently not - the roof supplier had ‘let them down’ and they would start on 11th May.

Their roof fitter arrived late and without the agreed covering for the Astroturf surrounding my conservatory – his words were ‘they never tell me anything’. However he carried out the roof replacement, on his own, to a high standard. He told me that the agreed decorative fascia could not be fitted to this roof. When I called the owner of Conservatories etc, he said he didn’t know what I was talking about. His sales man rang me, soon after, to ask me if I was calling him a liar, so I ended our conversation at this point.

When I later rang Conservatories etc head office at Wymondham the owner was not available but his son agreed with me that Conservatories etc were unable to fit the agreed fascia. To solve this issue we agreed I would obtain a quotation from a reputable Fascia contractor and deduct this from the remaining payment – I had already paid the first two, of three, installments.

I sent a confirmatory email to the owner on 19th May, citing the above agreement and asking for all related documentation – receipt for first two payments, FENSA 10 year warranty, building regulations conformity certificate – to be sent to me, prior to my final payment. Despite sending further reminder emails to the owner on 25th May and again on 3rd July I have still not received any communication from Conservatories etc, by any means. As it is now 24th July I believe that Conservatories etc will not honour our contract and send me the required documentation.

This is a factual account of my ‘experience’ of Conservatories etc !
