AVOID AT ALL COSTS

CHRIS CROOKS: CROOK BY NAME, CROOK BY NATURE. REFUSING TO REFUND MY DEPOSIT. Booked them in and paid a deposit in good faith, became impossible to contact and then completely missed the job start date with no communication and have now disconnected all phones, taken down their Facebook and refusing to accept mail. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Chris and Alan Crooks are very aptly…

Chris and Alan Crooks are very aptly named as they are a pair of complete crooks!
Taking money off of pensioners for a garage conversion which has been done completely wrongly. From the incompetent architect to the staff who cannot read drawings, if you enjoy flushing cash down the toilet and high blood pressure, then I would recommend, however if you want a job done properly then I would stay well away. Theyre going to end up bankrupted at the rate theyre going as they have a hell of a lot of customers taking them to small claims court and further.
The excuses given vary from a marriage breakdown to Alan apparently having dementia. Full of complete and utter sh1te! The worst pair of liars you'll ever come across

Buyer Beware

Conservatory/Garage Renovation Company.

We had this company build an extension to rear and side of our house. The workmen were all good and seemed to be doing a great job.

Towards the end of the job communication with this company became very difficult with emails, telephone calls and texts going unanswered. Our local council has come out and said that certain inspections should have taken place during the build to show that drainage etc was being installed to current regulations. This company has provided no evidence that pea gravel was used around a main underground pipe nor a lintel used to stop pipe collapse. They haven’t built the extension to the approved plans. I have been constantly told that they are looking for pictures of the build, something that should take a view minutes to find. As well as being denied a Completion Certificate I also have a dent in my bifold doors caused by one of their workers and missing door seals. The whole experience has been a nightmare with constantly chasing them.

We are now involving our home legal insurance as they are legally obliged under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (Sections 49, 55 and 56) to perform their services with reasonable care and skill, and under the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 and associated Building Standards, to ensure compliance sufficient for the issue of a Completion Certificate.

The fact that West Lothian Council has refused to issue a Completion Certificate means the works are non-compliant and incomplete, which constitutes:

A serious breach of contract; and
A failure to meet their statutory obligations under the above legislation.

Would definitely not recommend this company.
