Great tyres

Have just had 4x Continental Sport Contact 7’s fitted to my Skoda Octavia VRS. They look the part, grip the road really well and the road noise is slightly better than my older tyres from another brand. Prior to this I had Continentals on a Mercedes E-Class, after 3 years on the car they still had loads of tread and I never had any issues at all.

The cash back promotion is given on a virtual card that can only used in certain retailers and only in America!! No good if you’re in the UK! When I contacted MyPaymentVault who manages the promotion, they cut me off when I asked for details of where I can use it. A complete rip off!!!

Trail king mtb tyres are ridiculously tight on the rim and almost impossible to remove or fit. I’ve been fitting tyres for years and never has such an unnecessary battle with a simple changing of tyre.

So un-helpfull

So un-helpfull, tried to call technical to find out average mileage on a set of tyres as they do not publish any information akin to their competitors who do, i wanted to simply know what rough mileage you get from Conti sport attack4 tyres, could not find this info any where, yet I go to Metzler they publish all their tyre types and mileage expectations, obviously these are guides but even so its better than Continental

Exceptional Bikepacking Tyres – Race King 2.2 & Cross King 2.3 ‘Tullet’ Setup

★★★★★ Excellent Durability & Performance – Race King 2.2

I’ve been using Continental Race King 2.2 tyres for several seasons of bikepacking, and they’ve proven to be an excellent choice. They strike a great balance between low rolling resistance, grip, and durability, making them ideal for long-distance riding under heavy loads. The rolling feel is smooth and fast, and the sound they make on different surfaces is surprisingly satisfying!

Paired with Stan’s Race sealant, they’ve self-healed numerous punctures, keeping me rolling even in remote areas. That said, they did take a while to bed in—requiring regular sealant top-ups and pressure checks—and they often need a quick pump before a ride. However, once settled, they’ve been incredibly reliable and long-lasting, handling everything from gravel to hardpack trails with ease.

We’re now trying a Race King 2.2 (rear) / Cross King 2.3 (front) “tullet” setup to see how it compares. The idea is to keep the Race King’s efficiency in the rear while adding extra grip and control upfront with the Cross King. Initial impressions suggest the Cross King offers better cornering traction and confidence on loose terrain, but we’ll see how they perform over time and report back.

For anyone looking to minimise rolling resistance without sacrificing grip, durability, or control under big system weights and sometimes high pressures, the Race King 2.2 remains a strong, dependable choice. Highly recommended!

No response to any correspondence

I bought a couple of GP5000s TR bicycle tyres which are advertised as having strong sidewalls. On my first ride on Somerset roads the front tyre punctured. On inspection there was a cut or fault in the sidewall. I have emailed Continental 4 times using their website email address and also their website contact form twice. I have received no response whatsoever. Beware this company if you have any tyre issues they have zero customer service despite what their website claims.

The spawn of Satan

I mistakenly replaced Conti Sport 5 tyres with the new vaunted Conti Sport 7. What a mistake.

I drive a fairly powerful (400bhp) 4wd car and it is now undriveable unless the traction control is turned off - there is no grip in these tyres at all. Even the Haldex can't compensate for how bad these things are. I was hoping they would scrub up and be ok but 6 weeks in they are as bad as the day they were fitted. While it is painful to contemplate I am going to have to get rid of these things before winter sets in - £500 down the toilet in a couple of months - it makes you sick.

CS5's - I thought they were good - melted quite badly on the track but only the PS4s were better tbh. CS7's are complete trash for any reasonable car.

Avoid.

Eco Contact6

Eco Contact6 - from new these tyres only have 6.5mm of tread and after just 3 months and 400 miles they were down to 4.1mm. Thats 35% loss of tread before fully run in and only 2.5 mm to go before an mot fail. One also decided to produce a sidewall bulge. Their answer was its all designed in and its how premium tyres work. Weak sidewalls, dreadful durability and value -Avoid

I had an issue with my Vanco Camper tyres, Continental could not have been more helpful, one chap dealt with the whole issue and sorted it out for me with no stress. Even sent me good examples of how to complete the Warranty paperwork and kept me updated at every stage of the process.

One of the best eBay jobs were not good

Generally good bicycle tyres for my Grand Prix four seasons. Never really had to many punctures but I found the discounted tyres only lasted a few months from eBay maybe 1,500 miles or less before they went bald which is not good at all.
But I do love the tread pattern and they stick to the road very well even in the rain. I could not get any tyre over my Mavic tubeless rims though

New tyres come with around 6.5mm tread only. I can get part worn tyres from a scrapyard with more tread! Its a blatant ripoff. New tyres used to be 10mm. Scammed again but I would never buy continental again ever.
