Don't reply!!

I also recently received a Fair Processing Notice from Corpdata. I'd never heard of them before, and I did not wish to be included in any direct marketing lists they supply, so I emailed them requesting to be excluded and my personal data removed from their records.
Almost immediately afterwards I started receiving large amounts of spam emails. I can't prove the correlation, but I do have a number of different emails addresses and the spam was all coming into the one that Corpdata has - draw your own conclusions!

Good for some, bad for most!

For people who purchase data, it will be good. For those having their data sold, so money being made on your information, without your consent, it's bad. Send email to 'updates at corpdata.co.uk' and asked to be removed. Unfortunately, the law is says you opt out, not opt in. bad isn't it.

Hi Corpdata Team,

I recently received a Fair Processing Notice (ID: xxx-xxxxxxx) from your organisation. I would like to formally request that my personal data be removed from your records and that I am opted out of any further processing or marketing communications.

Please confirm once this has been actioned.

Hi Dene

I'm sorry that you felt that you had to give us a 1 star review when as you have pointed out the law (GDPR) says it is opt out rather than opt in (and the reason we do send the fair processing notices so that people can remove their details if they wish to do so)
We received your request for removal at 8.43am and tried to email you confirmation that we had removed your record at 8.46am unfortunately that email bounced back to us so we also tried to call to confirm removal 8.58 am but the call was cut off. Please take this as confirmation that your record has been removed.

Shocked to see Corpdata with a low…

Shocked to see Corpdata with a low score!?! Not at all my view of this company - as a customer who has used them several times, they are very professional, friendly and extremely efficient in the delivery of compliant up-to-date data in my experience. I think the angry people need a head wobble. Just unsubscribe and smile :)

Hoovered Data - GDPR Breach

This company uses hoovered data to produce spam lists. They are bad for the economy, bad for business, and bad for knowledge workers. They claim because some information is in the public domain that they can include it in a spamming list. If you use this company for email addresses to spam to, then your companies reputation will be affected accordingly.

Don’t understand the word “no”

Despite previously saying to Corpdata that we are not interested in being listed by them, they still phone to check that our details are correct. Rude young man phoned today and when I declined - again - I was told that all the information was in the public domain anyway. Begs the question: So why phone for an update?!

One of the few data companies that care!

Corpdata has been our data supplier for 7 years now, and we are incredibly happy with the service that they provide. Having worked with a number of other suppliers, it is clear that Corpdata work incredibly hard to keep ensure that their data and its use is lawful, and are always on hand to make sure that it is used correctly.

If anybody asks me for a recommendation for good quality, reliable data, Corpdata is the answer.

Always great data!

Always great data, well managed, clean and get prices. The staff are professional, friendly, and warm. I have used Corpdata for several years and found their data to be mananged very well, it is compliant to the law and they oversee and support their customers very well in managing this process. I have recommended them to several
Clients and am happy for anyone to contact me to discuss.

Data

I have never used this company but was approached by them advising me I used their data. They demanded £951 from me and proceeded to take me to the small claims court. I will fight this case as I did not use their data and they have not provided me any evidence they have just sent me loads of invoices and request for payment. I run a small business generating leads for clients. I normally call prospects but recently decided to use email marketing the client I was working for is based in London and wants London based clients the dataset Corpdata alleged I used is for prospects based in the North of England. No good to me whatsoever. They are charging £951 for 200 records they alleged I used.

You are correct. You have not personally licensed data from our company. Data was licensed to a company (our client), and you acted on their behalf and did their marketing campaign. So far so good, Then you decided to use the data for other campaigns for two of your other clients without properly licensing the data for those clients. Perhaps this was in error, perhaps it was deliberate. However, we were able to prove your use of this data, indeed we also sent you the information which showed what you had done. We sent you an invoice to enable you retrospectively to license the data for your clients as you should have done originally. I'm sure you noticed, we did not apply any penalty or interest for your misuse of our data - purely the correct commercial rate for the uses that had already taken place. Our objective was merely to put your usage on a proper legal base, to avoid exposing anyone to potential ramifications.

If you would like data for future clients we would of course be delighted to talk to you (or them) about the targeting for their campaign.

It is of course essential that you only use the data for the agreed purpose & I'm sure your clients would also wish to be certain that you will keep data they provide to you separate from data from other clients. As a processor, data protection laws, including GDPR require you to do so. Naturally, poor data hygiene is an issue for all companies, but especially if you are handling the client lists of your customers!
