Cottman of Columbia Reviews 

I brought my car to Cottman of Columbia for a diagnostic check of the transmission because it was intermittently acting strangely. They tested drove it and did what tests they could without opening up the transmission. After an inspection and test drive, the service advisor said the transmission looked and seemed to be acting normally. From what I described as the intermittent problem, he had an idea that the problem was a sticky valve. He couldn't be 100% sure unless he opened up the transmission. He explained a couple of processes they might have to go through and gave me the approximate costs of each process. He also said I might be OK with driving it some more to see it didn't again. He didn't pressure me to have any work done and said if it ever did happen again, I could bring it back and the cost of the diagnosis check would be subtracted from any repair work. I thought that was unusual, but a commendable way to do business. If I ever have a problem, I will certainly go back to Cottman.

I had a noticeable leak in my rear differential but with a thorough inspection it was pin pointed and resolved with quality workmanship. We cannot say enough good things about this company. Being stranded 400 miles from home is scary enough let alone being faced with a major repair and worrying that youll be taken advantage of.
From the first phone call answered by Liz, we knew we had made the right choice. She assured us that they would do their best to help us and they did! Dan, the shop manager stayed in touch with us throughout the process, and they were able to get us repaired (complete transmission rebuild!) within 24 hours!! The pricing was beyond fair and we drove away feeling very grateful we found them.
To those who dont leave reviews...think twice this is how i found this company. Reading past reviews and seeing that this company routinely takes care of travelers fairly and quickly.

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Repairs were done by estimated time and was done right. Price was much much lower than my regular mechanic (by $2000) and they kept me up to date on how the work was coming along and all other issues that they found. Great company that I will be working with in the future and would definitely recommend if your looking for fast, friendly, and great service with reasonable prices.
