Took my car in for transmission in March on day requested to bring in. Advised would call with problem. I had to call a week later they hadn't gotten to my car. Called very week to check only to be told I had to wait my turn. Then was told car was old and parts would be hard to find or might need rebuilt transmission. Kept my car til May when rebuilt transmission was put in and repairs complete at the cost of $3200 with a 6 month warranty. Didn't have car back 6 weeks when same problem occured again so towed a second time told had to replace the transmission they put in in May. Didn't keep it but about a week that time. Then in July guess what had to tow it back, this is third towing. They made some adjustments they said. Soon after it started to jerk when changing gears. So I had oxygen sensor changed that helped but it began to surge between 1st and 2nd took it back yet again. Of course during test drive the problem didn't occur told computer had to reset. Well warranty has expired and it's still surging. PLEASE DONT take your car to these folks, 8months has passed and my car is still not fixed as it should be. They will lie to you and put you off and never keep you informed of what's going on

Very respectable establishment. Got treated horrible by dodge of Greensboro nc and went to Cottman . Very small problem that got fixed easily with no hassle.

In August 2016, the O/D light was flashing and my vehicle was jerking into gear. Therefore, I had my transmission on my 2004 Ford Explorer rebuilt at Cottoman in Greensboro. Cottman appeared to be an acceptable transmission shop based upon reviews and recommendation and that is why I chose them. The warranty was 12 months or 12,000 miles. (Almost $2,700) Now, 19,000 miles later and about 23 months, O/D light was flashing again and had to get a part replaced that was replaced 23 months ago (Almost $500 this time). Sure hope the repair and parts last longer than 23 months this time. No offer of coupons or discount. Only comment was the warranty had expired. I guess I will drive it a lot for the next 90days while under warranty. Just not an ideal resolution to my vehicle problem.Maybe it is just the 2004 Ford Explorer transmission issue and can't be fixed reliable. I see lots of issues with several Ford vehicles around these years online. Well, we are driving again now so stay tune.
