Scammed Staff Out of Superannuation Payments

The following is a story sent to Scott Pape, Barefoot Investor from a concerned parent: "My 22-year-old daughter worked at a Crust Pizza store. They owe her $2,500 in unpaid super. She did everything right: approached the owners, contacted head office, then reported it to the ATO. Everyone said it would be paid. It wasn’t. The ATO’s response? Basically bad luck. How can employers legally be required to pay super, yet face zero consequences when they don’t? What can she do?"

How do they make it?

How this franchise survives is beyond my comprehension. I'm a pizza lover but since their shops are almost never open I completely dropped my wish to chase their products.

Can anybody explain why they don't work on mid-days or early afternoons at least on weekends? Do they really believe the customers will follow their late opening times?
