TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & GOODS…

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & GOODS UNLIKE WEBSITE-
Sample and 1st order of a Pole and holdback was excellent. exactly as shown on website. They were hand forged metalwork.

So I placed a large order for 2 French Poles in exactly the same finish as previous. the lead time was 6-8 weeks. It took 15 weeks to be delivered. I received no communication when enquiring a delivery date and it was delivered with no notice.

These 2 French Poles were awful, rubbish quality- They are highly polished aluminium poles with hand forged brackets. Nothing like the website. I believe the poles were ordered in ready finished and just the brackets were made.

Stephen , the owner said he was too busy to do anything so I could have a refund. My curtains had been made for these specific pole diameter so I had no choice but to keep them. My husband rubbed them back and made them look 'hand forged' it took six hours.

Reply from Curtainpole

Julie Sidwell ("Ann") complained that the pewter finish on their two 25mm tube curtain poles was too highly polished and not as distressed and marked looking as the 16mm solid bar example from a previous order. As stated on our the website, I explained that 25mm tubular steel (aluminium would be an interesting challenge!) curtain poles are inherently smoother than the 16mm solid bar but even so offered to try and "distress" the poles although it could not be exactly replicated in tube. Or she could return the poles for a full refund.
Mrs Sidwell asked for the full refund but said they would donate the poles to a local charity shop to save everyone involved the inconvenience of returning them. I said the poles must be returned to receive a refund. She then suggested that the poles be refinished by a local blacksmith and that she would invoice me for the cost of doing this. I declined her offer and repeated that she must either keep the poles or return them for a full refund. Mrs Sidwell then said that she could not return the poles as they were too long for the couriers ( they were in sections under 2m in length) and that it was my responsibility to collect the poles from her. I agreed to collect the poles from her Daventry address. Mrs Sidwell then replied that I was not to set foot on her property, that I had used my offer of refund (for a bespoke product) as a "get out of jail free card", that she would warn other potential customers of our disgusting level of service. Hence the review.
I'm sorry I've had to write this but I do need to give balance.
