DO NOT BUY A LAPIERRE!

DO NOT BUY A LAPIERRE!
Frame quality is trash. I bought the 2021 Spicy 6.9, within 3 months of riding the rear triangle pivot attachment had pulled out of the frame and meant that the bolt could not be un-done or tightened. Also a crack in the carbon itself developed under the top tube (This was not due to a crash or abuse, just general trail riding in the UK).
I then had to endure almost a year long experience of contacting the bike shop , from where the bike was purchased, to try for a new frame through the bikes warranty. After roughly 10 months of slow painful emails trying to outline the issue and apply for a frame replacement through Lapierre we received the 2023 Spicy team Ultimate frameset. To no ones surprise same shoddy pivot design with weak bearing points.
Despite this I continued to use the bike and upgrade various parts (Mainly all of the Lapierre own brand components). The upgrades included a desired vivid ultimate, so to confirm the correct sizing of the shock I got in contact with a local Lapierre bike shop dealer, The Bike Warehouse Sevenoaks. Together we had a phone call to the 'Lapierre tech team'. In this call I asked for the sizing and correct mount for the shock, 205*62.5 ,Trunnion mount. The 'Lapierre tech team confirmed that this exact shock would indeed fit. Returning home I called the same line again to be doubly sure, the tech team. Once again I was ensured that this shock would fit the frame. Ordered the shock. Didn't fit through the frame of the Spicy team 2023 as the shock body was to large. Just a show of the expertise of the 'Lapierre tech team', they don't even know there own bikes. Perhaps this is because they themselves don't even ride Lapierre bikes because why would you, they are awful.

If you want a pleasant experience with a bike and a bike firm I would recommend direct to consumer brands. Just a superior version of all bike shop bike brands who overcharge for garbage.

Not brilliant

I thought i'd leave a review in case anybody else is considering buying a LaPierrre and has any doubt about the other reviews. I love the bikes, have had three in the past and have enjoyed every one of them... But just make sure nothing ever breaks on one! I have so far been waiting over 5 weeks for a single bolt which shouldn't have fallen off in the first place (I don't think they're tested on very harsh off-road trails but they're still relatively strong). I have been in touch with their partner, Raleigh, who sent me the wrong replacement bolt. I emailed them with a full array of images of my bike; the part I require, the place in the bike frame where the part belongs as well as the (wrong) part they sent to me. I had nothing in response for a couple of weeks so I chased them up. To help solve my issue they sent me the blueprints of my frame and all its nuts & bolts so that I could pinpoint the exact part I need, but both blueprints didn't contain the spare I required, which means LaPierre sent them the wrong frame blueprints & told Raleigh they are the correct ones. At first I was doing this through a LaPierre dealer in the North of England who I took pity on and cut out to deal directly with Raleigh and to be completely honest I don't have a shred of faith that i'll ever receive the spare part. I feel like I spent [x] amount on a bike that I will either have to throw in the bin or leave to gather dust in the cellar while I spaff another [x] amount of money on another, more reliable brand of bike that I can use in the time it takes LaPierre to pull their finger out and fix this issue, which is likely to take up to / over another three months if what the LaPierre dealer told me last month is anything to go by. I've never experienced a customer service as bad, unhelpful or inefficient. They seem to build bikes every year, discontinue the line, but forget there are people out there who bought the bike and might want replacement parts. Complete waste of time and money. So please, if you buy one of these things, set aside the same money you just paid for it because you're likely going to want to buy a replacement bike for a few months at some point, if not indefinitely. Or just save yourself the stress & aggro and give them a miss.

Don't buy a Lapierre bike

Don't buy a Lapierre bike! Spend your hard earned money somewhere else. Bad quality, have had to replace frame or parts of frame twice in two years. Customer service is terrible.

Seemed simple!

Seemed simple, tried to buy an e-bike online. After going through card details etc. screen displayed 'error 504, unable to......', checked e-mails, nothing received, so tried again, same result. ho hum.
A little later, looked at my credit card site, horrified to see TWO 'pending' payments to Lapierre. (Still no e-mail). Checked customer service tab, 'Mon to Fri' (It was Saturday, BH weekend), rang credit card, couldn't help.
Filled in contact form to Lapierre, waited til Tuesday to ring (Hoping the credit 'pending' would vanish.
Tuesday morning, credit pending converted to debit, so rang as soon as Lapierre office opened, started to relate story, surprised to hear 'is that steve' from operator (Gemma)!! Understood problem, was about to message me, agreed to cancel both. All resolved very quickly, able to buy elsewhere.

Customer NON-care

Over four months ago I was contacted by dealer I bought Lapierre Zesty 4.0 informing me that the frames could potentially deform so Lapierre had recalled them to be replaced and not to use. After numerous attempts to get an answer from Lapierre I am still without a bike. I asked if they had a complaints section and was told no and am now just being ignored. They are still selling Zestys so there is no problem with production but the way it looks is that they have my money so don't care about their customers after payment. I will go out of my way to discourage people from buying Lapierre. If anyone from Lapierre reads this YOU ARE A DISGRACE

The worst company

The worst company I've had to to deal with. Had a product of theirs of which there was a recall against and those who deal with enquiries are useless. None of them are on the same page always a different response and months later still no replacement for the recall. Wipe their hands with any issues and pass the buck on the dealerships. Never will I buy a Lapierre bike again

Terrible warranty service

Terrible warranty service! On my Overvolt bought from a Lapierre dealer a year ago the shock absorber broke. My attempts to use the guarantee ended in failure. I sent the shock absorber to a dealer in Italy in September. But now the dealer doesn't reply to emails. A bike without a shock absorber. Lapierre replied that the warranty is not their business and that I should resolve all issues with the dealer myself. It's amazing that this is happening in Europe ..

Awful Service

Awful wait times, offices constantly shut between 9-5 weekdays despite advertising that they are open. Cant get a simple call regarding a problem with a part incorrectly fitted from factory.

Brought a Audcio in 2019 as my entry level bike.

I think we all have an attachment to our first bike and this is no acception.

I road this across the steep hills of Cyprus for a couple of very enjoyable years!

As I got fitter and started climbing 20% gradients, I noticed this model wasn't really made for that and would flex a lot.

I can report no mechanical problems other than that on the frame.

Customer service dreadful

I order a Lapierre Zesty 3.0 AM in June and was told an initial delivery date of September. This has slipped and slipped with every communication with my bike shop (not their fault). Delivery has now slipped back to March 2021, there has been no communication from Lapierre whatsoever, emails to customer support are ignored.
I have taken to spamming their social media now. I don't think they care at all and I will shortly be taking my custom elsewhere.

I know that we are in the middle of a Pandemic but the least they could do is answer emails considering they have £1k of my money

Problematic bike !

I bought a Lapierre Overvolt 600i back in July this year and when the bike is working fine it is an absolutely fantastic bike geat handling very responsive and solid as a rock. The reason I have marked only 2 stars is because of the numerous times that I have had to go back to the bike shop (who have been great ) Firstly almost straight away the computer had a fault had to go back to have a new one, then in August the rear mech was not working, had to have and upgrade to higher spec., then the dropper post failed due to the complicated internal routing this has had to be sorted out a couple of times by the bike shop and now finally the bosch motor has stopped working and the shop are dealing with bosch for a replacement. All this in the space of 3 months for a bike which cost nearly £5,000 !! I have now tried calling the number for Lapierre customer services to complain and got a number unknown so can not even complain !! Can anyone give me a number to call Lapierre from the UK ?

2016 Lapierre Zesty AM 327 27.5" IS Awesome !!

I'm giving them a 4*s because I have never dealt with there customer service? I cant speak for that.
What I can speak for is my 2016 327 AM zesty! (bike gets 5*s!) Bike is a dream to ride on everything from xc to lite DH! It climbs well for a FS bike and the 150mm front and rear can handle any trail riding. I have only had the bike for one season, but even taking some spills the bike is holding up great! Only thing I will probably change is go from the 2x10 to a 1x11. The 2x works great but the 1x just makes the bike better IMO!

My 1st Lapierre bike and will not be my last!
Awesome Bike!! I plan to ride it for many more years!

Overvolt Explorer 800 - Bosch problems

Bought an Overvolt Explorer 800 (actually bought 2) , and after a couple of weeks the Bosch motor died on me. Now the bike is unusable and awaiting a repaired Bosch motor - which we cannot get a date for and will probably miss our holiday that we bought the bikes for!
A lot of money to spend to have a bike that you cannot use!
