Poor longevity of Cyrus CDi

I purchased the Cyrus Cdi 5 years ago and I returned it to the dealer after 2 years because quite a few CDs started to present 'missing data' where there was missing sound for a couple of seconds when playing (note it wasn't skipping). The dealer agreed and it was send back to Cyrus. Cyrus returned it saying there was nothing wrong and even though it was still within warranty they charge me a fee for checking it. However, once returned, the player was fine and no sound loss was noted.
I use the player with the Psx-r external power unit and this week the unit no longer seems to send a signal to the amplifier as no music is played when a CD is running. The display show that the unit is running correctly displaying the time into each track. I thought it was perhaps the amplifier {Unison Research S6} so I plugged it into my recently purchased Arcam SA45 but the fault is still there. However, if I unplug the CDi for a ciuply of hours and, switch off the power supply, the CD player works once the power is returned to both units. However, leaving both units in standby for a few days, the issue returns.
Im used to my Hifi gear lasting years - my Unison S6 is 15 years old and before that my Quad 33/303 was over 25 years old. My brother is still using my old Naim CDi that's over 20 years. Cyrus products don't seem to be built to last

1 Cyrus X200 Mono has just gone down. Absolutely stinks with burnt electronics.

Love the sound signature and the Phono Signature is a great sounding phono stage however, reliability seems to be very poor. All items were bought new by me. Maybe I just continue to be unlucky with this marque.

Cyrus streamer XR is a disgrace

Cyrus streamer XR is a disgrace. Over the 4-5 years I have had this product it has managed to connect via its Cadence software about 30% of the time, leaving me alternating between anger/despair/frustration.
Cyrus should be ashamed of this product baring their name and embarrassed by any customer that has tolerated this equipment - an attempt to sort out the software should have been considered an obligation, not a task to dodge - shame on you.

Cyrus sorted my 10 year old amp.....free of charge!!!!

My amplifier is over 10 years old and developed a firmware issue. Pete Hillyard at Cyrus guided me through setup checks and then arranged to pickup, install updated firmware and return amplifier to me in brand new Cyrus packaging in the space of 72 hours and totally free of charge!!! I think they even did a routine service as volume knob was "wobbly" but now turns perfectly. Thanks to all at Cyrus for superb after sales service especially given the age of my amplifier!!

Best in class Customer Service

After 14 years of use one of the buttons on my Cyrus CD Transport started to stick. I phoned Cyrus to see if it was possible to purchase a new switch. Instead they offered to repair my unit free of charge. They arranged collection, repair and return. It was collected Monday and returned Wednesday. What an incredible Customer Service, I am now an even bigger Cyrus fan. I can't thank the Cyrus team enough. Great products with best in class customer service, just perfect.

CYRUS 7 UPDATE

Just an up-date on my CYRUS 7 intergrated Amplifier , Received my amp back last month , COMPLETELY GOB - SMACKED by , The over- all IMPROVEMENT IN SOUND QUALITY after its servise by cyrus , MANY THANKS TOO THE SERVICE ENGINEER -DAN MASON, Who PERFORMED and COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED my CYRUS 7 100 PER CENT , ( A GREAT CREDIT TOO CYRUS ) I will be sending my external-power supply that goes with the cyrus 7 amp , too cyrus audio , so the above engineer , ( CAN WORK IS MAGIC ) and return it too its ( former- glory , MANY THANKS AND APPRECTION . 1st class Cyrus Audio service support

This is a review of Cyrus Audio service support, not of the products themselves. The products are routinely reviewed by hifi magazines and online reviewers and they consistently score very highly. This review is of my experience with Cyrus service support.

I bought a CD player and amp from the new XR range. Although great sounding, it had some issues with the UI. The retailer who I bought it from stopped trading but Cyrus stepped in and took care of things. It took a while to resolve the fault entirely but I was treated respectfully and professionally at every turn. There was a genuine interest to resolve things to my satisfaction. I now have a fully functioning system and I can attest that these products really do sound and operate superbly.

Well done Cyrus!

My cdi developed two faults and was out of warranty and Cyrus said they will still repair it as if it was under warranty. Free of charge and carriage too. Superb customer service. Well done

The laser in my CD player was replaced but...

The laser in my CD player was replaced after 12 months although I hadn't used the system much in that time. It still skips no matter what quality of disc I play on it. The only advice I received from Cyrus was have it repaired at a local dealership however the dealership advised against throwing good money after bad as they didn't rate Cyrus that highly. Very frustrated.

Cyrus products repair costs

I have owned a number Cyrus products over the years but had to have two of them Repaired the Amp for £250 the Cyrus Lyric was £400 I now now buy products with 5 year guarantees or lifetime guarantee I have never had any Arcam or Cambridge Audio products repaired so if you want to buy a Cyrus Product factor the cost of it being repaired the sound quality of Cyrus has always been excellent

MonoX 200 repair and service

A couple of weeks ago, one of my amplifiers developed a fault. I spoke to my retailer and when I asked if they could collect from my home, they suggested that Cyrus may be able to do so, and they agreed when I contacted them, saying that they recommend sending both units back as they will service the working one at no additional charge. Everything went to plan and they are now back home and running. I have deducted 1* because it is difficult to speak to Cyrus staff, but overall, completely satisfied.

Cyrus, brilliant sound and customer service!

Feel the need to write this as the service I have just received is outstanding. Cyrus have updated a streamer I bought second hand for free, including postage. Not only do they sound good, they deliver when it comes to looking after customers. They now have a Cyrus customer for life. Excellent stuff, other hi fi retailers could learn from this.

Cyrus One Amplifier-As good as it looks

I bought the Cyrus One Amplifier three years ago from Richersounds, after a testing session. It is paired with DALI Zensor 5 floor standing speakers and the whole system has added, a sublime sound to our house. The minimalist looks, absolutely solid construction, superb strength of noise that comes out of that amp+speakers have been nothing short of amazing. My daughters, who grew up with small and tinny sounding Bluetooth speakers were blown away by the depth of clarity and almost concert like music listening experience. We were all surprised last week when the Cyrus One started acting strange and not working properly. I contacted the support team via email and immediately got a reply with advice on factory reset and firmware update procedures. Followed the instructions and presto!! it is now back to its solid best. I would like to say thank you to the support team at Cyrus Audio and I am more than delighted with the amplifier. Could not recommend this highly enough. When the world is flooded with cheap equipment from the Far East, it has been a pleasure to buy, own and use a British made product.

Excellent Customer Service

Pete Hillyard sorted things superbly. Sent in for service (at a cost of £300) I was warned that the backlog meant a three week turnaround. Picked up by DPD the unit was back ina week, fixed, cleaned and sounding better than before and sporting updated software.

A massive thank you from a long standing customer (I still own a Crus iii…)
