DeGiro has competitive transactions costs
DeGiro is a great platform. Transactions costs are still pretty low compared to other brokers. Only downside is the Core Selection (portfolio of ETFs that have low/none transactions costs) being stripped down over the years.

Using Degiro really has its good and bad sides…
Using Degiro really has its good and bad sides. The fee structure "per contract" is good/cheap for single high value contracts but quickly becomes very expensive when trading smaller positions. For example, common option strategies like "covered calls" is practically not possible. There is also a lack of common stock options, lack of market maker rates and no index futures for the Swedish market.
Worst part though, is that there is no customer service whatsoever. No phone, no email, no chat, no nothing.
I got a margin call from Degiro because one of my positions had a wrong value (caused by no market maker rates for the position). As there is no customer support, I could not talk to anyone about it. However I was convinced that once a real person looks into my account, they will see that there is no reason for the margin call. But no, Degiro closed one of my positions against my will and charged me a fee of 62 € for it. Very irritating and disappointing. And as there is no customer service, there's nowhere to complain...

I regret creating an account with them a few years back
I’ve had an account there for a few years and, honestly, I regret not choosing a proper broker from the start. Back then, I was convinced by their low fees.
Their approach to currency conversion is especially confusing and hard to understand for a normal user. For example, if I want to withdraw funds to my local currency, I first have to convert the balance from euros to PLN. The PLN amount is not shown anywhere in the interface. I have to remember how much I converted when entering the withdrawal amount. The withdrawal field suggests a value, but only in euros, not in PLN.
Other than that, things are more or less fine, as long as you don’t need to withdraw funds.

Exceeding my expectations in any sense
Exceeding my expectations in any sense, whether it is fund info, order placement process and execution (regularly well over limit value), excess to way more stock exchanges and funds than my other bank. Product is so good, I immediately invested in FlatexDEGIRO as well. And also here I wasn’t disappoited.

Very convenient and stable plaform

Was one of the best brokers has become one of the worst
When I opened my account 8 years ago they were the best broker out there with fair fees.
Today, especially since the buyout from flatex, fees are very expensive and hidden everywhere like 10€ for a currency exchange..
When trying to move my securities to another broker they do not send the buy in rates making it useless for tax purposes. I will just sell my stocks here and move everything as fast as I reasonably can.
