"In Crust We Trust"

"In Crust We Trust": Denino's Pizzeria Comes to Thousand Oaks

Denino's Pizzeria has been serving up authentic New York-style pizza since 1937, when the original location opened in Staten Island. Since then, the restaurant has been an institution, visited by Mayors, Borough Presidents, Politicians, actors, and most importantly, by the many New York families that come back again and again. For the first time ever, the famed pizzeria has now opened a franchise location in Thousand Oaks, California, and we had the pleasure of checking it out.

As soon as we stepped through the door, we were met with a warm and friendly atmosphere, with franchise owners Kyle & Ana, and Greg & Monique, who were friendly and eager to serve us. We ordered a large pizza with chicken and garlic on the website app (which takes Apple Pay!) and were expecting it to take a while, but it was ready quickly, piping hot and ready to eat. We dug right in on the outdoor patio and were amazed by the crunchy, extra-thin crust. It had amazing flavor and was also extremely light. Our son ordered the Vodka (sauce) (pizza) pie, which was cooked to perfection and the sauce was just the right level of tangy. We couldn't believe how similar it tasted to the original pizza in New Your city.

Next, we decided to try the desserts. We opted for the authentic Italian cannoli's and were not disappointed. The shells were crisp, and the filling was sweet and creamy, with just the right amount of flavor. We also sampled the fried calamari, which was fresh and delicious.

In addition to the pizza, Denino's offers a variety of authentic New York Heroes ("Subs" for those of you who are California natives), salads, and pasta platters, such as chicken parmigiana and meatball parmigiana, which are great for parties or corporate events.

All in all, our experience at Denino's Pizzeria in Thousand Oaks was truly remarkable. We were amazed by the authenticity of the food and the friendly service. 3 years in the making, we learned the Denino's took every step to preserve the true New York experience; they even flew water out from Staten Island to ensure every bite here is as authentic as it is back home. If you're looking for an authentic New York pizza experience without flying across the country, Denino's is the place to go. I highly recommend you run, don't walk, to experience this new California gem before word gets out & you'll be waiting in line.
