Information provided by various external sources

At Dentale, we are training dentists in the provision of dental implants. This is a continuous ongoing process taking dentists from their first implant all the way up to the most complex procedures. All this training is supervised closely by our extremely qualified team which gives the patient all the benefit of the experience and the dentist the benefit of a safe and controlled environment. Dentists are prepared to pay to have this quality of training and this in turn enables us to offset the cost for the patient.

Still going !!!!?

I have just received an email ( presumably generated by an algorithm) from Oracle Dental which has caused me to re- visit the Dentale site.
I am surprised to see that they are still practising.
My experience goes back about 7/8 years and includes several problems.
To cut a long story short, I am now living with facial disfigurement which appeared about 6 months after receiving a transplant at Dentale from a different surgeon to the one that I had been told would be performing the procedure.
Wouldn't it be nice if practises like this were monitored properly ?

Have used before for an implant- fantastic- noy any more

Went again recently and agree with all the negative comments here.

Lack of any patient care not allowed to ask any questions. No communication. Tried to charge twice for the same consultation. Email and phone calls unanswered seeking basic info on treatment plan.

Misleading information about costs on website.

Also found the dentist to be very arrogant.

Final price given was higher than local dentist.
I would advise shop around with local dentists much more likely to get a better service!

If you are considering using this…

If you are considering using this company be warned DONT
This is your health your body go to a fully trained clinic. I wish I never used this company. They came across like you in safe hands. But trainers and assessors made mistakes. I had loads of appointments and over 12 months till completed. They fit each appointment in after the last. Which can be months apart. This was the biggest mistake of my life. I wish I went anywhere but here.

I’m writing this review to raise awareness!!

I’m writing this review to raise serious concerns about the unacceptable experience my mother has had over the past three years.

She underwent implant surgery that was originally estimated to take around 12 months. We are now three years down the line, and the treatment is still not complete. Throughout this time, there have been numerous issues including repeated cancellations, poor organisation, and a clear lack of communication.

Most concerning, however, was the interaction she had today with Mr. Jason Buglass. When she raised perfectly reasonable concerns about the length of time and the fact that the procedure is still not right, she was met with shockingly rude and dismissive behaviour. He stood there and said, “I’m not here to listen to your complaint, if you want to complain then go ahead,” which is completely unacceptable. She was then told that her “expectations are too high” simply for expecting a £15,000 procedure to be completed properly and within a reasonable timeframe.

This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable, especially given the financial and emotional investment involved. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, empathy, and professionalism — none of which were demonstrated here.

After three years of delays and disappointment, this experience has been incredibly frustrating and upsetting. I strongly urge the practice to reflect on how patients are treated and to address both the ongoing delays and the conduct of staff.

Atrocious aftercare

Initial surgery for 3 implants at Dentale Portishead was horrendous but I put it down to the fact the dentists are training. 18 months later one has failed completely. It fell out, so I went back to have it refitted. The dentist forced it back in without checking the condition of the site. The implant was loose before I got home and my face was swelling. Next morning, no dentists were available at Dentale to urgently address the extreme pain. They referred me to their 24/7 dentist who’s out of hours only. Had to wait until 8pm to be told they can’t help with implants. Have had to pay another dentist to remove the implant from my jaw. Dentale has accepted no responsibility for any aspect of this and has even ‘embellished’ treatment notes to ensure nothing sticks to them. Don’t have anything that isn’t 100% straightforward done here. You’ll regret it and so will your bank balance.

A very successful treatment

I had an implant tooth fitted by Dentale Bristol in 2024 finishing in December, so I thought I would do a review.

In summary, all positive, very good I would go there again if I needed another implant. Overall I paid £1,705 over five appointments. Advertized minimum was £1,600, but I think only if they can combine two of the appointments which was not possible to replace a long missing tooth. Overall it took seven months from first to last. It could not have been less than 5 months and I suspect the actual minimum for me was six months. There are various delays while nature takes it's course and then while the dental technician makes the new tooth.

I had a rear molar replaced that had been missing for 40 years. With no blood supply from a tooth the bone atrophies. But I was OK. For a molar, if a bridge was possible I would do that (subject to advice), but it was the back tooth, so no.

First an implant goes into the bone, like a plasterboard screw (but a lot lot smaller), threads on the outside for the bone, and threads on the inside for a screw to fit into. The final step is to fit the new tooth that is screwed to the implant and on the bone, with its skirts all round tight onto the gum so that food doesn't get under.

Note that the tooth scanner (below) is a head with lights on it that they pass over your teeth and do a 3D scan, all you do is keep your mouth open while the machine makes progress noises.

The appointments were:

1. 16.05 Dental inspection by a permanent member of Dentale staff. This included xrays and the teeth being scanned to make the rubbery guide that fits over your teeth and is used in later stages.
No injection, £125 which included the cost of the made to measure guide.

2. 27.06 The big one. The job was to put the implant into the bone. The dentist was a young man from Bangor NI. Clearly a very experienced dentist acquiring an additional skill.
The area was fully numbed, then he cut away a flap of gum, put the guide over the teeth, drilled the hole in the bone, and put in the implant. A Dentale tutor checked a couple of times as we went along, and checked carefully after the implant was in place. Then the flap of gum was stitched back in place with lots of stitching to make a protective mat over the top of the gum flap. Antibiotics on the day and a course to take home, warnings about needing Ibuprofin/Paracetamol. I didn't need painkillers, it was sore on the first night but I wanted monitor that. After that it was OK.
Full injection and xray. £750 including the cost of the implant.

Next appointment was in four months time to allow the implant to integrate into the bone. Three months if you're lucky.

It took a week for the stitches to start to come out, two weeks and they were all gone. You must be careful to not let your tootbrush rip out stitches or disturb the healing. I put a pinky finger over it while brushing until the stitches came out, then I was gentle for another 2 weeks. After 6 weeks it was as if nothing had been done. Nothing at all to see after that.

3. 19.10 Dentist numbed the gum, put the guide in place, made a smallish hole in the gum and screwed in the temporary screw, which is sort of round topped. This screw forces a hole in the gum through which the new tooth will sit. I had hoped they could scan the teeth to make new tooth, but my gum had been very thin to start with and had thickened with being messed about. The tutor advised on fitting the screw and checked it had been done correctly. The Dentist was a young man from East London.
Full injection and xray. £80 including the screw.

4. 23.11 I suspect the gap to this appointment was longer because they wanted to leave time so my gum had properly settled down. The screw was taken out, the teeth were mapped for the Dental Technician to make the new tooth, and the temporary screw was re-fitted. Dentist was a British Malasian young lady.
No injection or xray. £650 most of which was the cost of the tooth I think.

5. 20.12 Final appointment. He unscrewed the temporary screw, screwed in the new tooth. Lots of careful checking of bite etc. and a tutor came and had a look. Mine needed no adjustment, bang on first time. No discomfort with the new tooth.
Paste to numb the gum, no injection, can't remember if there was an xray. £100

All the trainee dentists who did the work were clearly intelligent experienced competent dentists acquiring an extra skill and their work was properly checked and supervised. No problems since fitment, its just a tooth.

I was called back some months after completion as a check-up ensure everything OK.

Total waste of time and money

Total waste of time and money. Non existent patient/customer service. Paid £195 for a consultation but had to chase for treatment plan. Had some questions but they went unanswered despite multiple emails and calls. Eventually got to speak to someone but lost all confidence in them providing a decent level of service. Wish I had seen these reviews first! Could not recommend based on their patient care being non-existent.

Hopeless at communicating

Oh dear. I should have read the reviews before i made my appointment. I was impressed by the consultation, very professional and thorough, which was carried out on 3rd February 2026. However, I have been waiting over 4 weeks for a copyof the report and scan to pass on to my own dentist. 3 emails and a complaint email have been sent. I did get a reply from one emal a week ago, but still nothing has been sent to me. So Dentale have had £150 off me and I have nothing to show for it. Their complaints procedure also has a contact name of someone who doesn't even work there anymore. Usless, hopeless, incompetent at communicating. Stay away and go elsewhere is my advice

Waited a month for Consultation & Ct…

Waited a month for Consultation & Ct scan £199. My problem 3 teeth missing in front top arch. The implant dentist Paul Wilson who also has his own business Stoke Bishop Dental Centre. He wanted to Extract 2 teeth to make room for 3 implants and put a Zirconia bridge denture on them. I asked for a copy of the CT scan that I paid for. He did not seem willing at that time, and atmosphere changed a bit cold. The Consultation in my opinion was unfriendly and arrogant . I agreed to this work and was given a Quote for WAIT FOR IT £9736 implants where 1375 instead of advertised £750. Abutments were £302 instead of £250. No problem, that is still a good deal. I went home, thought about the quote and decided I can not afford £9736. I spoke to the Dental nurse who was there at the consultation about having 2 implants 1 extraction to make way for the bride denture. She was very pleasant and said she would talk to Paul Wilson. HERE WE GO. No reply, so I phoned Dentale Bristol( Portishead) The dental receptionist. I was told the Dental nurse had Cancer, was ill, and would not be coming back . Phone calls were made with the phone being put down on me. I smelt a RAT. So I sent an Email to the Practice Manageress Explaining What I wanted and could afford. I explained I was willing to pay Extra for bone graft, if there was not enough bone for an implant. The Manageress replied by Email with a lame excuse from the Paul Wilson saying it would not work. I know this not to be true. In my opinion his procedure would have taken 1 1/4 hours as that was explained the appointment was for. 2 extractions 3 implants total £5391. Not bad for 1 1/4 hours work. Thats why in my opinion he did not want to do any bone grafting. The 4 tooth Zirconia denture, including fitting would have been £4345. They have a complaints department in Shrewsbury but the secretary new who I was already and did not want to give me the telephone number. I had to say Will you give me the number YES or NO. She then gave it. All phone calls are recorded.
So I was given my £199 back and told don,t come here ever again. I am sad that I could not have my 2 implants even at £1677 each. That is still a good price. My experience with these people was quite upsetting. I thought I was going to have trainee implant dentists fitting the implants ,with supervision. No just,an unfriendly Paul Wilson who hires his skills out to dentale. I was not offered any body else. I have lost out and they have lost out. I would not want any one to go through my experience. Dentale could have earned money from me,but the employees said no.

I initially started my treatment with the Carlisle clinic, but when that was no longer an option I just went for the quickest appointment with Dentale, which turned out to be Shrewsbury.
I have travelled from Scotland 4 times to complete my treatment, and i don't regret a single second of it.
My treatment was perfect, my implants are wonderful, and the price is less than half I would have paid with my regular dental practice.
100% recommend

Implants at a great price

After having a gap for over 25 years, decided to take the plunge and get implant crowns, had the initial assessment and the dentist was very professional, explained the the whole process and put my mind at easy. The following 3 appointments went very smoothly and again the dentists were very professional, all in all I can honestly say I had a good experience and wouldn't hesitate to use Dentale again in the future.
They also offer a Gocardless payment plan to help spread the cost.

Awful leadership

This course is led by an awful team. So disorganised and clueless. The Dentale manager is always around but doing no work or no support. Delegates on there own trying to help patients. Tutor is constantly on phone or emails. Do not pay for this course.

Very Professional & Caring Team

I am 100% happy with my front 2 implants / 3 tooth bridge, plus 1 crown.
They look and feel like my own teeth, it is lovely to be able to eat and taste my food again, but above all smile and laugh without having to put my hand in front of my mouth.
A big thank you goes out to the highly professional Oracle Dental Team in Bristol – I would highly recommend them.
Work was carried out under the Teaching Clinic Scheme, for a very reasonable cost.
Works completed Dec 23

Didn’t get seen…

I made an appointment for the Carlisle clinic as I wanted to consider 2 dental implants and the price list and service sounded reasonable .A few days prior to the appointment I had a phone call asking me to change the time and to tell me it would be with a less experienced dentist but the more experienced clinician would be likely to see me briefly. On the day I drove for an hour and a half. We live 50 miles away.I got there in good time only to find my appointment would be delayed by over 2 hours ( at least) as the senior clinician had been held up in traffic. No effort had been made to contact me by phone to inform me of this. My husband had not been well that morning and I would have been very pleased to postpone to another day. There were already several patients waiting. I had other commitments at home and could not wait so I just drove home. I thought I might get a call or email to apologise and explain but nothing. I emailed in and got a rather dismissive response. It all seemed very unprofessional to me. If you are travelling a long way it might be worth calling to check if they are running to time.

I have just completed a year long…

I have just completed a year long treatment plan for two separate implants plus a then additional three toothed bridge including two implants to affix it. This was started at the Shrewsbury clinic and the later bridge in Bristol. I would highly recommend Dentale. I was treated excellently by the numerous different dental surgeons involved. They were all professional, caring and accurate in the treatments they carried out. The price differences between Dentale and other UK based implant centers meant that I could afford and justify to myself the cost of this treatment.

Why would you trust a company that…

Why would you trust a company that advertises "Dental implants from £750" when that cost is just for the screw that is screwed into the gum?
From the outset they are obviously very misleading.
The actual cost is nearer to £1500 - £2000 +
