Very disappointing experience with Dic Lovett BMW Bristol.
I took my BMW X5 in for its second service; BMW are the only garage to have serviced it. I was told the sump plug had previously been over-tightened and the sump pan needed replacing at my cost. With the oil already drained and the car undriveable, I felt I had no option but to pay around £3,000 including the service.
I was told 7 litres of AdBlue and an air-con service would be included as goodwill. After collection, the car developed a judder that wasn’t there before.
On returning, another health-check video said it needed 9 litres of AdBlue and an air-con service again, plus identified a driveshaft rubber leak following the sump work.
I was told the judder was caused by non-BMW-approved tyres, despite no tyre issue being mentioned on their original health-check video. I was also charged for transmission/transfer-box oil and told this plus new tyres could cure the judder after 200 miles.
I then paid £1,400 for tyres, was told I was getting Pirellis, but Continentals were fitted instead without prior agreement.
Too many inconsistencies. I have completely lost trust in Dic Lovett BMW Bristol.

We were looked after extremely well by Josh Marks and the lovely reception lady from the first telephone call to the handover of our new Aston Martin

Went to BMW motorrad Bristol to inquire about a motorcycle trade in . I was looked after very well by Natasha.she was very helpful and polite. The deal she offered me was not entirely what I was looking for,but I shall seriously consider this.
Natasha is a credit to BMW Motorrad Bristol.

1 Star – Very disappointing experience with DickLovett BMW
I purchased a BMW 840i from DickLovett BMW for £29,000, expecting a high standard of service from a BMW dealer. Unfortunately, my experience from the start has been extremely disappointing.
The car was originally supposed to be ready for collection on 18 June. I was then told that while it was at the valet stage, the gear shifter had apparently broken. I was subsequently told to collect the car on 20 June. All the paperwork had been completed, but I then discovered that the MOT had been carried out against the wrong registration number.
The car was advertised privately and sold to me with a private registration, but it was eventually delivered to me on 22 June.
On 29 June, just one week after delivery, I reported a vibration at around 40 mph, along with concerns regarding the battery and suspension. This was particularly concerning because I had been given the impression that the car had undergone a full BMW inspection and MOT before being sold.
I returned the car to the dealer on 9 July for investigation and repair. Three weeks later, the issues still had not been properly resolved. Because of the lack of progress, I had no choice but to take the car to BMW Sytner for an independent inspection, costing me £300.
After approximately three hours of inspection, I was informed that both front shock absorbers required replacement, a wheel was bent, and the battery had failed. I was given an estimated repair cost of around £3,500.
What I find particularly disappointing is that despite these issues, the manager told me, “We can buy the car back if you like,” while at the same time I was receiving emails stating that the car was safe and that there were no faults.
I have now lost £300 on an independent inspection, as well as a significant amount of time dealing with this situation, not to mention the stress and inconvenience involved.
For a £29,000 BMW purchased from an official BMW dealer, I expected a completely different level of preparation, communication and after-sales support.
In my experience, the after-sales service has been extremely poor. I would not recommend DickLovett BMW based on the way this matter has been handled.
Very disappointing from start to finish.

I’ve gone from having a broken car not sure what to do, to being looked after by a lovely gentleman called Steve Found. Steve looked after me from start to finish making the whole process very smooth and was patient, informative with the whole process. One thing I won’t forget will be that once I had not my new car sorted and purchased, I was currently on shift for work and Steve without any hesitation arranged a courtesy car to make sure I had transportation for the day before I collected my car. Had my car waiting in the showroom, definitely an experience I will never forget. Thank you again Steve Found.

I recently sent an enquiry regarding spare parts for my wife's Mini Cooper S. I was amazed at the early response I received from Nuala Brimson at your Bristol parts service. Nuala was incredibly helpful & followed the eventual order through to receipt by Royal Mail on Saturday morning. I wish there were more Nuala's in this world👏

I've been dealing with D*ck Lovett BMW Melksham since purchasing my new car, and the service I've received from the whole team has been fantastic.
From the warm welcome when you walk through the door to every specialist department within the business, everyone has been friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to providing excellent customer service.
I recently had my car serviced and wanted to give a special mention to Freddie in the service team. He was particularly helpful, kept me informed throughout the process, and made the whole experience straightforward and hassle-free.
My experience with this dealership has been brilliant from start to finish, and it's refreshing to receive such consistently high levels of customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend D*ck Lovett BMW Melksham and look forward to continuing to use them for many years to come. Keep up the great work! This service does not even deserve a single star. I contacted them to enquire about recall work carried out on my vehicle at the end of 2023. The sales service advisor BRISTOL branch I spoke to claimed no such recall existed, and that no work of this kind had ever been completed on my car.
When I explained I hold the receipt as proof of the work, he was extremely rude, explicitly accused me of lying, refused to assist me further, and terminated the call without warning.
I phoned back immediately and asked the receptionist for help; to 13/07, I have received no response or update from the manager. I was ultimately forced to contact BMW UK directly to resolve this matter.
This level of unprofessionalism, dismissiveness, and outright hostility is completely unacceptable, especially when I provided clear evidence to support my enquiry.

For ANYONE purchasing the following car from this dealer, be AWARE!

Mitch seems like a "good guy" but the car delivered is a MESS! Once was home with the car, I spotted a few things. Which made me question if the car was in overall good condition.
Had the car inspected and was in bad shape!
List I received back:
1. TFR staining on all black gloss exterior trims
2. Rear propshaft coupling splitting
3. Wheel centre caps starting to bubble
4. Front shock absorber protective dust covers splitting
5. Engine EGR cooler leaking exhaust gases
6. Engine turbo feed pipe starting to leak and staining underside of engine cover
7. Rear bumper paint peeling on N/S corner edge
8. Scratches to front N/S/F wing
9. Scratch on steering wheel
10. Front tyres wearing bald on the outer edge
11. Front wheels been poorly refurbed
12. Lots of fault codes logged in the diagnostics - lots of fault codes indicating might require a software update
13. Front brake discs have some corrosion
This car was handed back (nightmare) and still on going dispute, I doubt this car has been fully rectified.

Had my BMW serviced at DickLovett BMW, Cribbs Causeway,Bristol. On arrival I was made to feel extremely welcome and given informative information on what work would be done on my car. Ethan the service advisor was extremely helpful and kept me updated on the work being done during the service. Extremely happy with the service I received. 👌

I visited D*ck Lovett in Hungerford to test drive a used BMW X3. Was warmly received on reception. Unfortunately the car smelt very strongly indeed of dogs so it was a no from me, but I must commend Josh for his courteous and professional manner. A shame as I would have purchased the car otherwise. I had paid a £500 deposit to secure the car which was promptly refunded to me two days later. I would deal with this dealership again.
