Very disappointing zoo in decline
As an annual pass holder for years maybe this year is the last.
The number of exhibits have dramatically declined, empty enclosures everywhere or gone completely!
In places it almost feels like an abandoned zoo with lost and lonely animals.
Other than staff at the entrance, in the gift shop or cafe not one in sight.
Hoards of unsupervised school children in hi-vis jackets running around screaming not the slightest bit interested in the animals making it a very unpleasant atmosphere.
Overheard one comment from another visitor who said, “if I wanted to see plant after plant, I’d have gone to a garden centre and saved my money “.
I’ve paid for another year pass but I’m no rush to go back.
