Poor quality meal

A large party of us went for a Christmas meal on 15 December 2025. The LUKE WARM meal consisted of PROCESSED TURKEY, no sprouts, parsnips, stuffing or cranberry sauce and a large tough Yorkshire pudding laced with salty gravy. The bread served with the poor soup was STALE. One person left the whole main course and no questions asked as to why.
Despite emails and phone calls Marcus, the manager, has not responded and according to another member of staff does not want to upset his staff🥴. Not bothered about his customers.
Not recommending.

Beautiful wedding at dimplewell

Our story begins six months ago when my husband, who made it very clear he never wanted a wedding ,got ambushed. I told him we were going for a “quiet drink” at Dimplewell Lodge. Two glasses of wine later, and surprise! We’d booked a wedding. Honestly, men really should read the small print when they marry us.

That’s when Rhianne, our wedding planner, entered the picture. Bless her. This woman didn’t just plan a wedding, she went through a full-scale endurance test. Between my never-ending emails, panicked phone calls, and me discovering my inner Bridezilla (who, apparently, is terrifying), she managed to stay calm. She basically became my unofficial therapist, life coach, and emotional support human. If Dimplewell don’t give her a pay rise, they’re missing a trick.

The night before the wedding, the staff were busy setting up every ridiculous detail I’d requested, including a full-on crisp wall. Yes, a wall of crisps. Forget flower arches and fancy decorations… we’re a classy couple.

On the day itself, I had to do the unthinkable: hand over control. I honestly thought I’d combust. But the team pulled it off flawlessly. The venue looked jaw-droppingly gorgeous, better than I’d even dared imagine (and I’d imagined A LOT). The food was so good our guests practically licked their plates, and the buffet was the stuff of legends. Honestly, if I hadn’t been in a wedding dress, I’d have gone back for thirds.

The staff? Incredible. Attentive, professional, and probably quietly praying never to see my name pop up in their inbox again. They somehow kept everything smooth, calm, and perfect, while I floated around ugly crying and pretending I wasn’t stress-sweating through my makeup.

And my husband? The man who didn’t even want a wedding? He turned to me the next day and said, “I wish we could do it all again.” Shocking, I know. But hey, moral of the story: listen to your wife, because she’s always right.

So, to the staff at Dimplewell Lodge hotel: you didn’t just give us a wedding. You gave us a miracle. You made my husband love something he swore he didn’t want, you tamed my inner Bridezilla (well, sort of), and you created the most perfect, emotional, unforgettable day. We’ll be back for anniversaries ❤️👰‍♂

Wonderful wedding

Wonderful wedding with lots of great memories made.
Marcus and his team made us feel welcome throughout the booking process and made sure that all of of our wants and needs were met - including us having real ale at the bar.
Everything was great - decorations and food were beautiful and we felt amazing.

Great Venue in Wakefield

Just stayed here to attend a friend’s funeral. Could not fault the service throughout our three day stay. The staff were Incredibly friendly and always standing by to help and serve. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Best curry I’ve had outside London. I would recommend this venue to anyone.

An excellent venue

An excellent venue. We recently held our daughter’s wedding here and the staff went above and beyond at all times throughout the planning and the day to ensure the event was perfection. We were so very happy with the staff, the food, the prices, the cleanliness and everything. The venue is beautiful and we have some wonderful photos of the day and the hotel and the grounds look stunning. A wonderful day made bettet by excellent service.

Had an amazing stay after being …

Had an amazing stay after being recommended by our friends as we were in town for their Son's birthday party. We upgraded to Cherry Tree Cottage for just £20 more and were over the moon, high end, amazing value with nice four poster bed and Jacuzzi being the highlights, breakfast topped off our stay this morning served by a lovely acommodating lady called Sharon. Thank you, we'll be back again definitely xx
