I paid DMCA.com $199 after being told their standard takedown service included a money-back guarantee and that their professional team would review and pursue my case.

Only after payment was I told that I would have to waive my right to that guarantee before they would proceed. I was also expected to provide 10–20 individual URL comparisons myself—or pay another $250 for their team to collect them—even though I had already supplied a detailed investigation linking the cloned website and associated domains to the same Singapore-based operation.

The alternatives then became increasingly expensive: $599 for a trademark case, $599 for Google removal, and a separate paid case for every related domain. We have a UK IPO-registered brand, our website and products have been copied, and we provided the supporting evidence.

When I questioned why the promised refund protection was being removed and what the original $199 actually covered, Paul called and said they would refund the payment and close the case without even attempting the takedown.

My complaint is not that success could not be guaranteed—it is that the terms, protection and costs appeared to change after payment. The whole experience felt like aggressive upselling and a bait-and-switch. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend DMCA.com.

I have a London Lifestyle Blog; I have worked with DMCA twice. The first time, my entire blog was cloned, and they had purchased a name very similar to mine. Luckily, we discovered this had happened during the Christmas period, which made it very stressful. That's when I discovered DMCA; they worked quickly to take down the offending website. That's when I purchased the badge to place on my website. Then, a few years later, in 2026, they contacted me about a website that had scraped my entire website and the badge! I paid them again to take down the offending cloned website, and they did this within a few days. The second time it happened was less stressful because I knew I could leave it to DMCA to handle everything for me. It's such a shame that there are unscrupulous people out there trying to scam everyone by scraping your whole website and passing it off as their own; it does make you feel threatened, and at times you feel like giving up doing anything online. But thankfully, DMCA are around to help you out.

After I posted my original review, DMCA.com contacted me and explained that their original $200–$250 estimate was based on the limited scope of the infringement initially provided.

I appreciated their response and tried to resolve the matter constructively.

I clearly told them that I am not primarily seeking a refund if they can provide the takedown service I already paid approximately $199 for.

I proposed a reasonable solution: instead of dealing with 100+ copied tests at once, we could start with 20–25 of the clearest infringing URLs from ieltsmate.vn, evaluate the takedown results, and then discuss how to handle the remaining infringements.

I also made it clear that I am willing to update my Trustpilot review positively if the matter is handled fairly and the takedown service is actually carried out.

However, after my response and follow-up, I am still waiting for meaningful action on the infringing URLs I submitted. To my knowledge, none of the URLs I provided have yet been successfully taken down as a result of this service.

This is disappointing because I chose DMCA.com specifically because of its reputation as a professional copyright protection company.

I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want DMCA.com to either:

1. Proceed with the takedown service for a reasonable number of the infringement URLs under the approximately $199 I have already paid; or

2. Refund my payment if they are unable or unwilling to provide the service.

I hope DMCA.com management will review Takedown Notice #974498 and help resolve this professionally.

I will continue to update this review fairly and transparently based on how DMCA.com handles the case from this point forward.

I genuinely hope my next update can be a positive one.

It was good experience with DMCA

Despite paying nearly $200, they kept sending notices that were not getting answers, rince and repeat until they essentially turned around to me and said 'time's up'.

To make it worse, they offered additional help that would cost an extra $100 and I had waive my rights for a refund and rely on the team's 'good faith'. Even worse, the options were not guranteed so it was not worth it.

The only decent thing about it was the fact I could get my money back.
