Site is impossible to navigate. Coupons were not honored. When I asked why to cashiers they were nasty and surly 😠! WOW! I WILL NEVER GO TO ANOTHER DOLLAR GENERAL STORE! MAIN STREET, CAMBRIDGE MN.55008.
I have never had an issue with staff.
I have never had an issue with staff.
But prices are an issue.
Farwell Michigan is a small town and we have 4 Dollar General stores, 2 in town, 2 in the next town, all very close.
There are also several Mom and Pop stores.
If Dollar General is priced the same, people will go to the Mom and Pops.
Biggest sellers are going to be snacks (Chips), candy and pop (Pepsi and Coke).
People will stick with Mom and Pop
unless you have a deal they can't pass up.
They will also not go to more than one store.
If they need groceries and pop is on the list, the local gets all the sale.
If the pop and snacks is a real good deal at Dollar General, then they go there for all they need in one run.
Dollar General is taking up a lot of space and getting very little for it.
Dollor general needs to hire people to…
Dollor general needs to hire people to go in and out watching how the store clerks treat customers . I won't mention the store but the manager with the nasty mouth needs to be fired...Don't nobody wanna be around that negativity why do u think all the good people left because of her.. Good people to dollar general can't never keep anyone so what is that telling u... Don't buy nothing from there go to Walmart instead
I purchased some item at a Dollar…
I purchased some items at a Dollar General in Gastonia NC. Store No. 4723, my purchases total to be 25.68 after taxes. So I was told because without paying purchase tax, my purchase was under 25.00. Dollar General advertise that they give you 5.00 off on a 25.00 purchase. But they then tax the 5.00. That's not really a $5 dollar discount if you're being taxed after the total. I don't know if this is legal or not. But I do know advertising 5.00 off on a 25.00 dollar purchase is false advertising. So with that being said Dollar General is not to be trusted.
I purchased a gift card from them and I…
I purchased a gift card from them and I went to use it and it showed that it had been used, I went back to the store and asked for the manager and was told that she wasn't there that I would have to come back on Friday (week ago) I went back and was told the same thing, I called to speak with her and was told the same thing.
I haven't had a chance to go back there because I had surgery on the 8th of July and haven't been able to drive.
I will be calling the corporate office on Monday as well, and I will be letting the FTC know what happened and also the BBB, people need to be aware about buying gift cards from the Dollar General Store in Fleming GA.

Work their workers to the point where they’re so exhausted they have mind fog and then release them for forgetting, literally to clean one thing

Things in wrong place with sale signs in front of items, employee had severe rude attitude, apparently was the manager cause she yelled she was the only one that could do a refund, tjis was the piedmont, sc store, will never go back to that hell hole
I like the store near me but the CS is terrible
I like the store near me but the customer service is horrible!! I placed an order for delivery through the DG app. I applied a $5 coupon which was applied. Then when the shopper called me to see if I would approve a substitution for one of my items. I approved it. My $5 digital coupon was them removed after the substitute was made, which was more expensive than the original item. I sent customer service an email. They said I must have entered in the wrong phone number at the pin pad And they would not honor a refund. I replied and said it was a delivery through the app and I was not at the store. Then they came back saying they were sorry for the wrong substitute being made and they will refund me for that. I replied again, and stated that is not what I said at all! I mean, do they not read the whole thing? Are different agents getting different emails? I sent screenshots of everything including the text messages between me and the shopper with me approving the substitute. So just so aggravating as this is not the first time I've had issues with customer service.
OMG terrible
OMG! MORE EXPENSIVE THEN WALMART IT WEIS FOR THAT MATTER DROP THE DOLLAR IN THE GENERAL GUYS
Horrible place to shop
Horrible place to shop. The managers are not good at their job and some of the employees reflect that. My wife bought 2 $500 apple gift cards. 1 was activated and 1 failed to activate. They said it would be refunded back to our card. 2 weeks went by and we still had not gotten our money back so she went up to talk to them. The managers were not there so the employee called them. The manager said they would be there until 4 the next next day. My wife showed up at 1 and they went home early. After a few more attempts to get in contact with them she called the corporate number. Now we were at a month with no refund. Finally after a month and a week of battling to get our money they owed us the district manager finally authorized a refund. No apology, nothing. We'll shop elsewhere from now on and I suggest you do the same. What a shame too. That dollar General used to be good until it went under new management. So sad!

I worked for Dollar General for more…
I worked for Dollar General for more than three years, and I am sharing my experience because I believe current and future employees deserve to understand how quickly years of dedication can feel forgotten.
During my time with the company, I was an extremely committed employee. I worked whenever I was needed, including weekends and long stretches without days off. I learned not only my own responsibilities but also many of the duties performed by store management because I genuinely cared about my store, my coworkers, and doing my job well. I rarely missed work, made myself available when help was needed, and consistently supported my Store Manager.
I want to make it very clear that I have nothing negative to say about my Store Manager. She was supportive of me, valued my work, and was deeply upset when my employment ended.
The incident that ultimately led to my termination involved a customer who was caught stealing from the store. After my Store Manager confronted the customer and told her to leave, I also told the customer, “Please get out of the store.” The customer then physically assaulted me by pushing and hitting me in the face while insulting me.
I had a bottle of water in my hand, and I reacted by hitting the customer with it.
I fully acknowledge that I should not have reacted physically. I regret that decision, and I understand that I should have handled the situation differently. However, I also believe the full context matters. I did not initiate the physical confrontation. I was assaulted first while trying to help remove a customer who had been caught stealing from the store.
We reported the incident ourselves and provided the video because we wanted management to know exactly what had happened. I also provided a written statement explaining the incident.
Approximately two weeks later, I was informed that the matter had been sent to Human Resources and that my employment was being terminated.
After more than three years of service, I received no warning, no write-up, no suspension, no final warning, and no second chance. My employment simply ended.
That is the part of this experience that affected me the most.
I understand that companies have policies and that actions can have consequences. However, I believe an employee’s complete work history, the circumstances surrounding an incident, and years of demonstrated commitment should matter when making a decision that takes away someone’s livelihood.
For more than three years, I gave this company my time, my availability, my loyalty, and my effort. I worked when I was needed. I helped my Store Manager. I learned responsibilities beyond my position. I cared about the store as if its success personally depended on me.
When the company had to make a decision about my future, I felt that none of those years of dedication mattered.
The biggest lesson I learned from this experience is that employees should never sacrifice their entire lives for a company or believe that loyalty guarantees loyalty in return. Do your job well. Be responsible. Be professional. But protect your time, use your earned benefits when you can, and remember that a company can make a decision that changes your life very quickly.
I would never encourage another employee to physically intervene in a confrontation or put themselves at risk to protect merchandise or a store. No job is worth your personal safety or your future.
I am deeply disappointed by how my case was handled and communicated by District Management and Human Resources. I believe I deserved to have my full employment record and the complete circumstances of the incident meaningfully considered before the harshest possible disciplinary action was taken.
After my experience, I cannot recommend Dollar General as an employer to someone who expects years of loyalty and exceptional commitment to guarantee that they will be given a second chance when they make one serious mistake.
My advice to current employees is simple: do your job professionally, follow company policy, never put yourself physically at risk for merchandise, and never give more of yourself to a company than you can afford to lose.
I'm DONE,I've tried to be supportive to…
I'm DONE,I've tried to be supportive to dollar general as they opened a store in Sagle Idaho fairly recently, however a new employee at this store would not sell alcohol or cigarettes unless you allowed her to scan your drivers license, No Way, are you crazy, you Want to scan my private information so it sits on your store servers, corporate and all over individual stores, In this day when hacking is rampant and selling data as well as personal surveillance, is all being known to be happening, YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MINDS, Only 1 employee at this store which the Entire Staff is All Women, is trying to make me do this, I have Just found out this Is Company Policy, I WILL NOT BE BACK, how dare You, Idaho Law requires only manual checking, No Scanning Is Required, just look at the ID to Verify, Thats All !!! , No Way No How, I've been hacked before, and Anyone who has, should Sue this Corporation if their info was hacked from their Total Disregard for Customers Private Information, Can You Imagine if Every Store , Gas Station or anyone else who deals with these products had Copies of Your Drivers License sitting on their server, vulnerable to hacking , And knowing they could Transfer that Very Private Info to anyone, I will Not Set Foot into 1 of These Stores Ever Again, With the utter lack of respect for Customers, and their known product Price Scams, cleanliness Issues and more, Just See their reviews, Absolutely a Large Corporate Scammer, This is Police State Surveillance by a Sketchy Corporation, I Refused, and minutes later was followed by local sherriff and police down the road? Rude Management at Dollar General on Hamburg Street in Schenectady NY
Went into the Dollar General on Hamburg Street in Schenectady, NY. My wife and I had some time to waste and we like to pop in to see their unique items.
Today I saw a sign for diet coke 3- 2 liters for $6. I take them to the counter and was told $10.18. I said no it's on the shelf 3 for 6. The female manager and employee got mad at me for saying I wanted the 3 for 6.
The manager got upset and said just give it to him, the employee had no idea how to fix in the register and the manager just walked away when the employee asked for help.
The employee took 1 bottle off and said that will be $6.80 the best we can do, that's not the way it works and I will be filing a complaint with the atty General.
Im not happy that I got a huge attitude from the manager in front of other customers like I was doing something wrong by making them honor their advertised price
Survey Scam!!!
I just received a survey invitation from Dollar General that said I would recieve a $5 reward for completing it. I completed the survey, then they denied the reward!!!
How low-down, dirty, scummy, unethical, immoral, unwashed, unclean, mentally damaged and mentally impotent would anyone have to be to even come up with such a SCAM?? It boggles my imagination, an imagination far superior to the corporate coprophages that inhabit that disgusting and vile corporate parasite that miscalls itself a business. The only values they represent are the values of a herpes virus, and the sooner they go out of business, the better.

The employees never look happy
The employees never look happy. They must be so miserable to work there. Most want even speak to you. Even the managers.
Nope
Most of them are like walking into a hoarders house, employees are few and far between and finally, I'm 63 gray as hell and need ID to buy a damn lighter.
Fold up and leave this game to adults.
