Prided themselves on being pro user privacy. They did it just to get users. Almost immediately flooded their product with AI. That inherently steals your data.

When I was using Google, people kept hacking my accounts. It just got completely ridiculous. But I’ve been using DuckDuckGo for the last four or five months and no one has hacked my account at all. I absolutely love this and will never go back to Google. They even keep track of how many followers they have blocked. As of right now over 565 blocks in just the last two weeks. I’m a fan for life.

Useless and far more trouble than it’s worth

I tried Duck Duck go because they said you had to ask AI before they dominated your search.

That is a lie. AI is the top answer on their web search. Disheartening, disgusting, betrayal are not even strong enough words to describe that lie the spew.

Do not use them. At least Google sets AI as a few options down. Duck duck go has it at the top of every search I have tried to search through them.

I switched from google to DuckDuckGo because I didn’t like the ai overview slop “feature” in google search. I ended up switching back to google less than a day later because almost all of the first 50 to 100 links are fake ai slop websites. I know because I spent more than 5 hours going through these sites I’d never heard of one by one, finding that they were ai slop over and over again. I can’t believe that using this search engine actually made me miss google.

Doesn’t show what is searched for, things are inaccurate, got rid of it. Similar with Google and Brave, waste of time even searching what you want to search for as nothing relevant shown

I'll be honest, I'm not that computer savy. I use it for email and to search the web for content I'm interested in. My primary reason for switching from Microsoft Edge or Google was to avoid all the tracking algorithms. In the beginning, it appeared to do that, but the longer I used it, that feature doesn't appear to work. I've noticed that if I search a particular site, afterwards I get constant websites popping up with the same content, so they are tracking my searches, and it's rather obvious. Not happy overall!

Your searches are not accurate. I hate google and everything it stands for but its hard to leave for what duck duck go offers. You really need to show up a be able compete but sadly you are not. Do better.

Great for privacy and for watching YouTube (mostly) without ads, but UI still needs work.

For example, I just accidentally deleted everything in my phone's Download folder because I hit the 'Delete all' button in my browser's list of downloaded files. No 'are you sure' prompt, no way to cancel once deletion was in progress, no way to undo.

This is also a kind of 'trap' for the user because this is where you expect the button to clear the list of downloaded files to be, and there's no real reason why I'd even want a button that deletes everything I ever downloaded.

Never had targeted adds before Duck Duck Go. Now I have them ALL the time even though I uninstalled the App.

They have really spoilt this search engine by using ads
They used to claim they are all about privacy and safety now they are all about spammy ads in every search that you have to trawl through 6 or 7 ads to get to the website you searched for. Such a shame they turned their backs on their loyal users and spam everyone's search with pointless ads for profit

Haven't given up on DuckDuckGo yet. I've been evaluating DDG, but don't want to sign on for a package until I know the lay of the land. But: Why am I being pestered to remove ad blockers from my program when I look at the news? How can I block this? I continuing with email. Will I now have email problems pestering me? What is Trustpilot and how intrusive is this?

Your search info is lazy ! You dont try very hard ! I always went to you 1st. So when you said sorry whatever the lame canned excuse is ! So I asked the same question to Google and everytime they gave me an answer. I cant stand Google or what they stand for but at least they work at getting an answer for ya ! Damn. TRY HARDER

you dont need it you can use the chrome extention and i like the email thing

I do appreciate the ad blocking and tracker blocking features that DuckDuckGo provides however the AI assistant has been more trouble than actually useful and no amount of providing feedback to them changes anything. I have screenshots of multiple conversations with their AI where it makes up information, guesses, or otherwise assumes answers. As I asked them in my last feedback; what is the point in having an AI perform internet searches if the information provided can’t be trusted. It states in the AI assistant platform that AI can make mistakes and as I pointed out to them; It can also completely fabricate responses. I’m thinking of swapping search engines for something more reliable.

I use Duck Duck Go and trust this browser . They do a good job in blocking Companies who would like to profile you . Great app to use

The placement of the delete tabs button is very poor. I have lost countless sessions on my mobile device. Looking to switch now to a new browser cannot continue to operate like this, where it just defaults to delete all tabs…

I have used both the search engine and browser for many years with pleasure, but recently the browser flickers multiple times during the opening of a website. This seems intentional. It is ABSOLUTELY irritating!
