Visited this garden centre today and I…

Visited this garden centre today and I have to say, since the new takeover it’s gone completely downhill. What was once a fantastic place is now a shadow of what it used to be.

There never seems to be enough staff, the managers don’t appear to have much plant knowledge, and the café service is painfully slow, I waited almost 50 minutes for a simple coffee.

The biggest problem is that they’re trying to turn it into something it’s not, instead of focusing on what made it so successful in the first place. It used to be a proper garden centre with knowledgeable staff and excellent customer service. Now it feels like they’ve completely lost sight of that.

It’s such a shame because the previous owners built a brilliant business. They must be disappointed to see what it’s become.

My friends and family have always shopped here, but after today’s experience I’ll be recommending they go elsewhere instead. Unless things change dramatically, I honestly can’t see this lasting much longer, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s gone within six months.

Garden advice

I popped into earlswood garden centre for a few things and required some advice. I found the customer service to be excellent! Three members of staff helped sort out my needs and they were all very friendly and extremely helpful! I asked for their names as it was so nice to get such good service ! Abi, Ian and Pete are a credit to you !

Poor start great ending

Having used EGC before and been perfectly happy with the experience we had no hesitation in using them again for fencing and slabs, we bought and paid for the whole order was given a vague delivery date and waited, after a week without any communication we phoned and was given a delivery date which as the day approached was changed and some of order was missing, my wife phoned and spoke to Jo who we think was management and within an hour everything was sorted and the delivery arrived in perfect condition the very next day, we Thank Jo for all her help and we will definitely use them again on our next garden project.

First time using this company

First time using this company. What a joke ! Ordered a bulk bag of top soil. Arrange a delivery day, got a text giving a time slot, waited in all morning, nothing !
Rang to get an update to be told order was cancelled due to no stock. Would have been nice to get a call to tell me. Went in next morning and to the credit of the girl on the till she apologised and issued a refund. Today, three days later there’s a bag of topsoil on my driveway. Driver couldn’t even be bothered to ring the doorbell 🙈. Rang the customer services and I was told abruptly that driver would return and pick it up. Guess what it’s still sitting on my driveway. This company is a joke, their arrogance is beyond belief considering it’s a local business.

Shoddy shed service.

I paid £855 for what was promised to be a’top quality’ garden shed c18 months ago. The door has dropped, and the lock is now inoperative.
Dan Brittain has rejected my request for a repair, stating that poor workmanship is limited to 12 months. Earlswood are in clear breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. They could act ethically, but sadly require me to pursue a small claims action.

Fantastic service from the team at…

Fantastic service from the team at Earlswood for our recent garden project, paving, lawn, fencing etc. Really helpful and knowledgeable. Particular shout out to Shay who went above and beyond to get items on deliveries and even replied to us on email on his days off. We also love our garden furniture from there too.
Genuinely couldn't have done it without them as they were able to deliver on time and keep the project going. Reasonable pricing too. Thank you

Don't expect Customer Service here.

I've been trying to sort out a problem with these people for 2 weeks. Have left numerous 'phone messages but nobody has got back to me. The only way to get their attention seems to be to go into the shop and confront them at the counter! Not what I call customer service.
