Fundamentally dishonest

Fundamentally dishonest - Quoted £97.10 for one day of car hire but when the link is followed they wanted £226.20. This theme was repeated with many of their vehicles while others resulted in an error message.

Avoid Easyterra (Auto Europe) - scammers

Avoid Easyterra (Auto Europe LLC) if you don't want to be scammed or be "surprised" by extracharges.
This is a sort of agregator, reselling car rental from bigger companies like (AVIS, Budget). They provide false information about prices, take your prepaiment and than refuse to fulfill the contract.
Here is what happened to me:

I made a reservation on the 5th of December 2022, I paid for it by card. It was mentioned in the contract that the car will be provided by Budget.
1) 2 days passed, no confirmation email. That's suspicious. I contacted support and they confirmed the deal by sending me the voucher. Ok, but still looks weird.
2) I decided to check the pick-up address stated in the voucher. And there was nothing - no parking, no office. I contacted support again, they said that the address has changed (surprise!). They don't even apologize for putting the wrong address in the voucher!

3) in PS to the message they added : "we noticed that you have provided a Danish address and please note that as it is mentioned as well on your rental voucher this rate is not valid or available for Danish residents".
Shouldn't they say it before taking the prepayment from me? when I put my danish address in the form? So if I come to the Budget office in the day of pick-up they just don't give me the prepaid car? Or they charge more? I have no idea what will happen, but this is just a scam from Easyterra.

4. The voucher that they sent me, clearly says "unlimited mileage". When I came to Budget office (in advance), they "surprised me" that this is not the case, and it is actually 100km/day. So, Easyterra lies again in their contract/voucher!

Thus, 4 problems with the only contract, proving that Easyterra is not reliable. company trying to scam clients. Avoid it at any cost!

I booked a car with easyterra

I booked a car with easyterra. Normal rate for my booking was 88 euro. I chose to hire a car with zero risk and paid 135 euro. After I returned the car at goldcar I was carged extra for picking UP the car at the airport 13.05 euro ( on the voucher it said airport taxes included, but this is extra for the convience off picking UP the car at the airport????) , smart return 12.36 (the posibillity off returning the car with full fuel tank) and extra mega relax cover wich I did't ask for!! Total 61.86!!! None off this was mentioned on the voucher off easy terra!! I called easy terra and the said this is normal. I could fail a complain for the extra insurance. So be aware off all the extra things you have to pay!! And not mentioned on the voucher!!!! I rented a car at interrent and had to pick UP my car at interrent/goldcar. This was the fourth time a hired a car at interrent, but the first time I had to pay for these extra's!! It had been no problem as the voucher had mentioned this before renting a car.

The struggle that never ends ...

We rented a car through EasyTerra (Auto Europe) for our holiday in Algarve, Portugal. We got called up by an customer service agent three or four days before departure telling us that they had to change our booking to another vendor. However, he underlined that we shouldn’t worry and that the new vendor (Dollar) was better than the old vendor (OK Rent-A-Car). When we arrived, the guy at the desk informed us that with the rebooking we only got 660 km included compared to 3.000 km in the old reservation.

And, here’s the issue. We choose the specific company to get minimum 2.000 km included as we would have to drive around Portugal.

We contacted EasyTerra (Auto Europe) to ask them sort out the issue of in the meantime we’re having our vacation, but they weren’t willing to help as it wasn’t their standard process. The asked us to pay the additional fees and then apply for the refund, but they couldn’t guarantee.

All in all, EasyTerra (Auto Europe) is downgrading customers and asking them to bear the burden of the additional cost and use their vacation and time after to handle all the processes of a potential refund - maybe I’m blue eyed, but what’s true value and purpose of EasyTerra’s (Auto Europe) customer service department?

We ended up spending most of our vacation writing more than 10 emails back and forth, and taking multiple phone calls with the customer “service”.

Language selection

There is language selection at least you think that it is language selection. But it is not. It is actually selection for residence.
Once I selected English and booked a car. When I went to pick up the car rental company rejected to give the car because I booked the car as tourist.
So be careful it is not language selection, it is residence selection. Confusing
I gave 2 star because their prices are quite good

Do not ever use Easyterra car rental…

Do not ever use Easyterra car rental portal !
I do frequently rent cars - minimum 5 times a year and in different contries. I have been using portals a lot to find the cheapest options. In october I did a rental through Easyterra - and got voucher to Maggiore in Italy (Ciampino Airport). But Maggiore did not recognise that voucher included extra driver so I had to pay 65 EUR locally and also I did not get the automatic transmission as stated in the voucher.
I did a complaint to Easyterra october 25th to get my 65 EUR back, but now 6 weeks after, they still has not refunded me - says they still need confirmation from Maggiore, even all documentation was there.
So as a customer at Easyterra I am now a hostage in their claim against Maggiore. Of cause this should not be the case.
I recommend that You never use Easyterra !!!
At least it is last time I will use them - and Maggiore as well.

Easyterra is corporating with scam companies.

Easyterra is fine - but companies they corporate with are dodgy. Arrived at Napoli airport delayed due to the flightcompany and requested our car keys from Drive Sicily Car Hire, As we didn't hold a credit card (as Dankort/Visa apparently is a debit card) we were requested to pay an additional sum of EUR35 per day - without any explanation in writing of what the money covered - we suggested a cash deposit but that was rejected. We called Easyterra who asked us to pay the fee and then write to Customer Support - which we have done. They inform us that they have written that a Credit Card in the bookers name was requested - but looking at Drive Sicily a cash deposit is also accepted. We contacted Easyterra to get our money back - but so far we have only received a standard answer. We have therefore filed the case for the European Small Case Court. If any other have experienced something similar please contact me in order to stop this mal practice.

WARNING! Sold us a useless insurance

Sold us a useless insurance. If you DO decided to use EasyTerra (at your own risk), then don't buy their insurance, it will not be of any use, and you'll have to buy an additional one form the actual rental company.

I'd recommend contacting a actual rental company instead and getting a quote from them directly.

Updated 1: Despite what EasyTerra is saying we where told that the insurance was useless and that we had to buy one directly form the rental company.

Updated 2: But your insurances is not valid as an insurance, so why do you even offer it?

Update 3: The Danish Broadcasting company (national television) even did a series on how common these practices are, where people have to pay additional fees and insurances. I've submitted my claim to forbrug.dk - and I recommend you do it too if you've had a similar experience.

Reply from Easyterra

You don't have to buy additional insurance. Just make sure you are aware of the difference between our excess cover product (cheap, but you'll be asked for a deposit) versus the zero excess insurances that are offered locally (expensive, but usually no or a lower deposit).

Update: then perhaps you should write a review about the rental company instead - you are NOT obliged to buy additional insurance as long as you're good for the deposit.

EasyTerra and their rental process

I rented a car in Copenhagen, Denmark for two days and when I complete my reservation I gave my address in Denmark, where I live. When I went to pick up the car the price was four times higher than the price on the website, I refused to finish the process and to pick up the car.

I complained, but EasyTerra Denmark rejected my complaint, didn't refund my money and hanged up the phone!!!! Totally unacceptable!!!!

Could not get the car becouse I lived in Denmark

I rented a car in Copenhagen, Denmark for a week and gave my adress in Denmark, where I live, before completing the booking. When I came to pick up the car I couldn't get it, as I was living in Denmark and they only rented out to non-danish citizens. It was writting with small letters in the rental agreement together with lots of other legal stuff.

I complained, but Easyterra rejected my complaint and woudn't refund my money eventhough the car rental central nevet got the money.

Totally unacceptable.

Efficient and friendly service.

Pickup of the car went smoothly but it was a little bit irritating spending time on an extra insurance which I thought was included when I booked the car on the website. It was also necessary to repeat and answer a number of questions which were answered during the initial booking process. The handover of the car was extremely efficient and quick.
