Crateful 

Communication with Crateful was not a good experience. My partner and I reached out to them to see if they were a good fit for our wedding, and it became apparent to us that the owners behind the company are just not nice. They became very defensive after it was clear that it was not working out, even after we declined their offer. Needless to say, will not be recommending them to our family and friends.

Honestly, I've been pretty disappointed. I've done a lot of meal delivery services and this is one of the most expensive ones. The menus are pretty boring, inconsistent and repetitive. I chose this one because you advertise with a James Beard award winning chef.

However, I've had multiple days of meatballs, multiple days of omelets, one day was just a bunless hamburger and the same desserts every week! I would rather just have a couple nice cookies or a simple cake than that same dessert again. There was also an acai bowl that was gloopy with soggy granola and entirely unappetizing. The problem is these are things I can make myself. I'm paying money to get "innovative" recipes, which I haven't really seen...or at least a little variety would be nice.

I say the meals are inconsistent in that some days, they are super light and healthy and other days, they are so heavy and filling (like meatballs and a huge piece of eggplant parmigiana) that it's confusing.

There was also a day that the dessert was not delivered, but it was refunded quickly and easily, so kudos to customer service.

I will say for the most part that the proteins are cooked well and well seasoned, but everything is just honestly boring and it is disappointing to spend $60 a day and throw away most of what I get.

Great food and convient been using for almost a year. Best one out there

Crateful meals are delicious and satisfying. I never feel hungry, get all the nutrients I need and don't feel deprived as I lose weight.

GREAT FOOD!!!! Eggplant Parm, zucchini noodles, and burgers DELICIOUS!!!!!! The only things I have not been crazy about are the pear and mango puddings.

Food is good. Expensive for what you get. They charge extra for not including foods you are allergic to, but still deliver said food. Packing is poor and tops don't stay on. Customer service is lacking. #sad

The food is good but the cost is high and the cooler bag doesn’t get picked up in a timely manner. The last time it took them almost a week to pick up my cooler bag! My suggestion is that they shouldn’t charge a $15 cooler bag deposit every time the food is ordered.

Overall Good but with Room for Improvement

Delivery and scheduling was very easy and they have very responsive customer service but the meals are repetitive. I wish their was more variety. Also some of the meals are basic salads, which feel like I am overpaying for the service.

Most meals are wonderful, but about 10% or so are a bit haphazardly thrown together, not as fresh, or not very tasty. I would love to get more fresh vegetables like broccoli and spinach more often. I don't care for zucchini or bok choy and seem to get that quite often. I enjoy the salads and would like them, and more fresh greens, more often. Thank you!

I tried five different meal services over the course of a year until I finally found crateful. Quality, concept and service! They have an amazing catering service which is amazing for parties!!

Food started out amazing, but got more bland and less appealing over time... I have actually experienced this with many meal services. I also had some trouble having my dietary needs followed, although they did eventually fix the problem and they always offered free meals for their mistakes. I noticed the food quality dropped with the company went public. I have decided to switch meal providers.

Looking for a healthy option and this is not it.

I thought the food was mostly good and had a nice presentation, but that the overall experience was lacking a personal touch and customer appreciation, right down to the confirmation email. Some of the meals seemed extra oily and soggy (dinners in particular). I tested it out for a few days and decided to go with another chef for my next meal delivery.

After doing a decent amount of research, I chose Crateful based on their healthy meals, food quality, and customer service. (I almost went with Thistle, but they had terrible customer service reviews.) I wanted to reset my eating habits over the past month, and I was looking for a vegetarian meal plan. This was also my first time with a fully prepped meal service, as opposed to a meal kit service.

I tried every meal plus dessert for five days. The food was delicious and delivery was always on time with no complications – there was no problem finding the building or my front door as with some delivery services. Meals were packaged fresh and secured in a tamper-proof tote. The site was easy to use, and everything was great overall.

The only reason that I gave a 4/5 is that as much as I would love to do this on a regular basis, the price point is a little too steep. And I know this includes prep, packaging, and delivery, but it would be much more doable for me if it wasn’t the same as eating out at a decent restaurant (for double portions) for every meal. I don’t need double the portions, but I think you get the point. For those of you who don’t have my financial restrictions, Crateful is wonderful and I would definitely recommend it.

Delicious food and great customer service

I have tried at least four food delivery services in Los Angeles and Crateful is by far my favorite. The food is delicious and organic and I love the food delivery options. I highly recommend.

Great food. Really impressed by the variety, flavor, and presentation. I tried the chef's menu, vegetarian and fit options and would recommend each one.

Love the food, it's so healthy and creative and well balanced. You really can't get better in that direction.

My only complaint is that the meat can be a little dry when reheating it-- but I can't see a way around that.

Great food, but way too expensive.

Had some hiccups with delivery- perhaps due to the gated community and access into it-
However I LOVE Crateful! The meals were delicious and nutritious! Wish I could do Crateful all the time!
